for #103, Count Draynor is actually of the family Drakan, in the Myreque questline Vanescula talks about her brother that traveled to the west before the River Salve got blessed, rendering him stuck there. Without the help of his family's bloodline and less blood to consume in Draynor than in the blood-filled Darkmeyer, he has severely weakened, which is the reason that his combat level is so low compared to the dangerous vampires of Morytania.

Bonus fact: @ 3:30 the sisters names seem to be a reference to programming conditionals. In if/else statement is a way to develop branching operations based on yes/no, true/false, or 1/0. Each sister is named after one of the conditionals: iffy (if), Elsie (else).

I consider myself fairly knowledgeable about RS, but for as much as I remember about this game, I've forgotten just as much. Its simply incredible that we have such a detailed record of this game and its changes. Many of these easter eggs and photos didn't just bring nostalgia, but brought long forgotten memories of playing this game as a child. Its incredible to look back and see how much RS has 'grown up' alongside its player base. Just as I've grown from a child into an adult, it feels like Runescape has done the same. Its almost a sensation of pride being able to see how much this game has grown up, like a sibling in a way. I also want to say how incredible it is for RS to have a curator, archivist, and historian of the game like you. You're an OG and its always great to find out you've posted a new vid.

Beautifully said man. In a way, RuneScape does feel like a sibling. And also, thank you for the kind words too. That's why I love documenting the things that brought us all to this game when we were young - one day I feel as if nobody will care anymore, with all the new updates and many more coming, but at least I've documented what I could for those few that want to look back. 🙂 Thanks so much for your nice comment - made my day!

#103 Count Draynor is actually the brother of Lowerniel, Ranis and Vanescula Drakan which is revealed in the Sins of the Father questline. There are also NPCs in Darkmeyer with the last name "Draynar" and when asked about Count Draynor they say that he took their name and changed the spelling. The house Draynar was present in Gielinor during the God Wars so that might explain why that area is named after them. Heres the NPC dialogue from the wiki: Player: Hello there. Caninelle Draynar: Darling, who's this? Pipistrelle Draynar: I don't know, darling. Why don't you ask them? Caninelle Draynar: Yes, good idea! Caninelle Draynar: Who are you? Player: I'm [Vampyre name]. Caninelle Draynar: Hello, [Vampyre name]. I'm Caninelle Draynar and this is Pipistrelle Draynar. Pipistrelle Draynar: Hello there! Player: Draynar? Any connection to Draynor? Pipistrelle Draynar: Oh yes. The Draynar family has been around since before vampyres came to this world. Caninelle Draynar: Over time, some people took the name and started pronouncing it differently. Hence Draynor. Pipistrelle Draynar: Draynor is more commonly used as a first name though, with Draynar as a last name. Player: Thanks for the information. I wonder if there's a Draynor Draynar out there. Pipistrelle Draynar: Now that would be funny. Player: See you around. (End of dialogue)

At 1:07:17, the Guthan the Infested dialogue; “We’ll finish this later...” occurs any time you are in combat with any Barrows Brother within the crypts and you run too far away from them to which they disappear and leave you with that message. The reason this can possibly occur with Guthan the Infested in his individual crypt is because if you deal the finishing blow to him the same tick he gets a heal, if he did manage to heal any health he technically dies whilst still having some calculated hitpoints left, which effectively registers him as despawning whilst still being alive. This effectively triggers the same code as when a brother despawns in the crypts when you run away from them (they are alive when you run away obviously).

@@aMondayMorning crepes are what we call pancakes in the UK so it's probably not exactly what you're imagining but we do cover them in all sorts of sweet things. Sugar and lemon juice is a traditional topping but my kids enjoy anything from chocolate and peanut butter to honey and bananas. I first played Runescape when I was 9-10 years old. When I saw in your video the old 2006 Runescape menu, the one without the stamina and health bar immediately visible. I had to pause the video and feel myself. I was surprised at the depth of the feelings arising in me just seeing that image. Looking at stone carved animals encircling the map, the backpack, the compass. I felt like crying. But wasn't entirely sure why. Only clear thought that could arise from those feelings, was that I love this game, and i'm forever grateful for having the opportunity to experience it as a child. Runescape was like an infinite well of freedom and awe that I could experience without end everyday for years. It taught me so much. The opportunity to be a child, let loose in a world of millions of players, a world so massive, and so full that even reading the map is overwhelming for an adult. To learn of magic and lore, of dragons, armor, crafting, wood cutting, mining, smithing. Of all kinds of monsters and beings. The feeling that you could never learn it all, but you were so happy to learn it. Teaches more to a kid than schools could ever hope to. I still have the whole world practically imprinted in my mind, I can imagine walking from Lumbridge, to Varrock, to Falador, and beyond the members gate. And through my life experience, I've been around the Sun 28 times so far. I've learned that the world is just as magical if not more than what I felt and experienced as a child. I've worked with many plant medicines such as Ayahuasca and San Pedro. I've gone to the ancient temples in Peru and the Pyramids in Mexico, led on pilgrimages where we drank these medicines and walked through the ancient sites. The instructor, Don Victor Estrada, practically a master though he would never call himself that, was struck by lightening 4 or 7 times. Amulets and power objects, basically exist, i'm having one made for me right now by a master crafter whom I met in Peru made of Puma teeth and Meteorite. The world is vast, beyond the conceptual frameworks our society can move people to believe. Synchronicity and life path and Destiny is real. I work for a Space Biosciences company, of which we will be launching small laboratories into space to run experiments that will allow humans to live longer in space. I did not plan on these things, I simply followed my heart, and they happened. I will credit at least in part Runescape for being in my life, and where I am now. As I would likely be a different person without it. I love hearing the music, it's a gift to be able to have such a powerful engram that can immediately bring me back to my childhood. Thank you for making this video, I enjoyed every second of it, down to even the music you played at the end. Much love, Roshawn

22:51 Man, how old was that postbag? It's clearly foreshadowing the dragonkin's first appearance in While Guthix Sleeps, which was November 2008. edit: After much digging, it looks like that was May 2007. That quest was in development a while. It's nostalgic to read back on these, there was a lot of foreshadowing to future content in them.

The screenshot section got me good. I remember looking through them almost every day before I would log in, so that I could see accounts that were doing all of this cool stuff I didn't know how to do. Just a little way to motivate me to get out and actually trying to learn things, rather than standing around treating the game like a chat room

45:45 this happens because the verices (points on a 3d mesh) are animated. When you keep the animation, but swap the mesh (3d model), the vertices will still do the animation as if they are on a different mesh, resulting in hilarious (and sometimes creepy) animations.
