With some kids starving in Africa and other kids being abused within HIS house of worship not being on his list of things to GAF about, why would he care about people having (consensual) sex? When he shook the hand of a neighbor kid, he knew the kid had a fatal brain tumor quickly growing that would have killed him in a few days, but he couldn't convince the parents to get him checked. He tells each man, no thank you, that he has faith that god will save him and sends them on their way. The man ends up drowning and goes to heaven and he asks god why he didn’t save him. God says that he did try. He sent him a man with a raft, a man with a boat and a man with a helicopter. What did he expect a literal hand direct from heaven?

Strange enough, in the Bible miracles are often invoked by prophets as a reaction to find a solution, and when they do occur is often not because somebody deliberate asked for exactly what they wanted. "Doctors are not God, and God knows he's not a Doctor," -Chicago Med. This quote goes both ways. Doctors will give you all the details they have should you ask, you can blame them if you wish, and they are not omnipotent. God works in mysterious ways and never will present detailed answers, and should anyone blame him they are condemned. People go to Doctors on faith all the time, and follow their instructions without question, or want to due if they do not get an answer. Not too dissimilar from faith in God. Doctors will often do anything to save somebody if they are asked, while the Plagues, the flood and more were al the work of God. Pick and choose if you want, but know what you're getting in to and asking for.

@@DrownedInExile I'm not religious. I'm an archaeologists, who often debates different parts of the bible with others whom follow one form of Christianity or another. Honestly, the earliest versions of the book which have been excavated and preserved go back to the Roman period, the Dead Sea Scrolls. While the linguistic elements indicate they were copies derived from Iron Age script and language. Chronologically, most of the Old Testament was written around the Iron Age Neo-Babylonian Empire, during the period of exile in Babylon; and different components from earlier match different events or mythical traditions from several different cultures. Like the Plagues of Egypt in the Book of Exodus? Darkness for several days, a pillar of fire by night and a column of smoke by day, massive climatic shifts, and displaced animals? Historians have looked at these with eerie parallels with the Eruption of Thera, the volcanic cauldron at Akrotiri, Santorini. a) imagine the Iceland eruptions in the 2010's, and translate those over the Mediterranean due to a volcano in Greece. (darkness in the skies, hail of fire/volcanic rock, a column of red in the distance or a large plume of smoke). b) where there is volcanic activity, tsunami's can follow, even shifting all of the Mediterannean Basin or the Red Sea. {IMPORTANT="Red Sea" came from a mistranslation. The actual text describes Moses leads the Israelaite across the Reed sea, a fresh water body on a nomadic route over the desert} c) massive livestock die-off, attracted insects with disease, or compelling aquadic life to experience a massive shift = frogs over running villages and lots of dead fish turning the Nile red. d) releasing pockets of gas into the air. In Egyptian society, or models of home recovered from tombs, beds would often be set up on the roof of the home for a cool place to sleep; often where the eldest child or son would be. The deaths of the 1st born in Egypt has be argued to parallel outdoor exposure to toxic chemicals in a gas form, or natural hostile fauna like malaria mosquitos & snakes; where somebody sleeping outdoors would be extremely vulnerable to. Heck, excavations in Israel dating to early Island Age, have identified shrines with inscriptions dedicating them to Yaweh and Asura (God had a wife once upon a time). I break down different components of the Bible, to identify contradictions, historical indicators or cultural priorities, archaeological divergencies, or life lessons to recognize in moderation.

Basic religious double-standards. If they go to the hospital and he gets better, it’s not because the doctors and nurses are smart and providing quality care, it’s because God wanted him to be healed. On the other hand, if he doesn’t get better it’s because of the doctors’ “unnatural concoctions” and lack of faith are interfering with God’s work.

I’m not suicidal, heck in my subconscious I started reciting John 3:16 over and over again to get the devil to go away. If I was suicidal I would’ve agreed with the devil. You need outside help to assist you, that's why peer support is very important to those with suicidal thoughts. I really hate when Christians are like "I put my faith in the Lord, not in you. God will heal him" or whatever. Umm when in the bible did God ever just heal? Did he not send them to somene TO heal them? Did God bless them and heal them or did he send them to a prophet or a prophet to them to heal them? Did God just heal them or did he send them to a river to wash themselves to heal them? How do they know that God didn't send them to the hospital and bless the hands of the doctors to heal them? God doesn't just fix you and the bible doesn't teach that either. On most occasions in the bible God sends you the means to be healed. Whether it's by him through someone else or through something they had to do themselves. God can only send so many doctors to you or you to say many doctors before you you start ignoring what he's telling you what to do. God very rarely helped directly, he almost always sent another means to help the person. All that person had to do was not ignore it. Christians that ignore doctors are failing to even fathom that maybe God is sending them to the doctor so the doctor can heal them. Just because they don't see it as God helping them doesn't mean it isn't. God always works through people, and guess what doctors are.

That was a Season 4 episode called 97 seconds. House had a clinic patient who had died in a car crash for 97 seconds before he was resuscitated, and saw something amazing. When House met him he tried again by electrocuting himself with a knife in a wall-socket, then told House that he was convinced there was something beyond. House pondered it for a while and tried it himself. I think he even used the same knife. Afterward he tried to talk to the clinic patient, but turns out he died for real since electrocuting his internal organs after a car crash caused them to fail. House's conclusion was that there was nothing on the other side since he didn't see anything.
