Those teeth, It looks like it can pack a bite, I've been bit by cats before while playing with them but the bite was little more than like getting you hand nipped by a chip clip, Didn't even break the skin or draw blood, That cat though..I don't think I'd be laying it on it's back and rubbing it's tummy, Looks like it has quite a bite if it decides to bite you.

Guess what? The domestic cats kittens are FREE. Thousands of them are euthanized every year. It's so cruel. These special breeds are nice, but unnecessary. A regular cat can do everything a special breed can do. If you want a cat, just go to a animal shelter, kittens are born about every 2 months. Please think about it. The Felis Domesticus ( The street cat) are great pets. Please have them "fixed" and make sure they go to the Vet to get all there shots. A " location chip" is a good idea. One of mine lived to 22 years old. She was my best friend. When she left us, it truly broke my heart. Her name was "Tuffy" a grey striped tabby, who loved to be around us. She and her siblings were found in a dumpster. It was done on purpose. It was the first time I dumpster dived, yes, it was smelly, but there little "meows" were worth it. Some people are so cruel, they don't realize that it's not necessary to something like that. There are a lot of kind people out there, just waiting to rescue an animal. Cats are cool. Don't BUY a cat, adopted them.

For some of the commenters... well and in general... First Fuck anyone who declaws a cat, would gladly sign up to do the "equivalent" declawing to the humans. As far as a few that waxed poetic but about special breeds being "nice, but unnecessary" or "If you want to save an endangered species, breed it with another of the same species" curious some of your backgrounds other than just as random as owners that want to show your SJW cred.... Your protestrations are inane for many reasons. Yes YOU can adopt I choose not to. I do give to an organization called blind cat rescue before you get your FEL D-1 in a fluf! One adoption is good but often cat owners are not prepared for either the cats attitudes or the expense since a Random cat you do not know the pedigree of can have anything from (well so can cats bread if your not careful) hip dysplasia, feline leukemia, heartworm, and a host of other problems including socialization problems. If you get one from a Reputable breeder some of that is lessened. One of my two cats is a stray was at the humane society (during covid here hard to reach out to) though was not registered as far as a owner. I only took it because dam next door neighbor found it out while he was drunk. And In my neighborhood would quickly get racooned, bit by a dog or run over by a car. And it adopted me. But I did not want to go through that because I lost a cat years ago that was a stray to health problems long story and still hurts. Not all pets that need a forever home are right for their home or them for that cat. My purebred Siberian is a former breed cat that was retired and I am lucky enough to have gotten. I like the new cat, love the personality of my old cat so SHAME on you aggrandizing about how its "So Cruel" F off seriously. You want to give shit to bad breeders fine! Want to give shit to bad humans that cause all these animals to need homes Fan Fucking Tastic but shame on you for trying to shame people who may have some of these cats or for wanting one. And no not all tabbies can do Everything a street cat can. And Some Street Cats are great. If you had left out the shame and hyperbolic statements maybe you would reach a larger audience. Though not sure why you commented with that shit here at all. As for the person that was talking about hybridization I have commented once or twice on the BigCatRescue site when they talk shit think have one on there now about Servals and one about Geoffroy's cat... they to use feels rather than facts to push an idea that hybridization is horrific and that animals can only be saved though putting them back in the wild... though I will give one of you props for talking about breeding like wild cats together we do need more of that. And if its a good breeder they Should be to have a diverse genetic breeding pool.

@@DizzyDebacles Declawing traditionally involves the amputation of the last bone of each toe. If performed on a human being, it would be like cutting off each finger at the last knuckle. (info from The Humane Society ) .Just like we use our fingers a lot, so do cats use their claws for a lot of things that are important for a healthy behaviour . Declawing can be avoided by having a few scratching posts/trees) , applying special sticky tape on the furniture they scratch(with time they will avoid it and the tape can be removed ) and learning what your cat accepts or not ( my cat does not like to be picked up, so i don't ). I hope this helped :)

  • @douglasgriffiths3534

@@DizzyDebacles Not only that, but declawing changes the conformation of the foot, and the cat no longer has "breakover" when he walks. The cat can't exercise their shoulder, upper back, forearm, and paw muscles properly since they can't dig in and set back like they need to. These muscles will atrophy, and the paws will become "frozen"---no more being able to flex. Declawing also has psychological effects as well. The cat loses confidence, and most will spend a lot of time hiding and antisocial. They won't play as much either, and may start biting to defend themselves. It's a lot easier to clip a cat's nails every 10 days or so, and they get used to having it done. Declawed cats know what happened to them---their feet will hurt for the rest of their lives, sometimes severely. Don't do it---there are alternatives. (Jan Griffiths).

Is it even ethical to breed them when 1) they are half-wild, 2) the wild side of them is super endangered, 3) many times the litters are prematurely born, thus putting them at greater risk of dying as newborns/older kittens... I think the best option is to try and focus on breeding Caracal to Caracal to help boost the wild cat population, even if they have to be kept in zoos. Though with so few of them left, its unlikely they would recover as a species. For a minimal amount of individuals and a healthy gene pool, you need at least 500 breeding individuals.

Felines are my favorite animal. I had a gray Maine Coon that I had adopted from a shelter. Merely a week after adopting him, he quit eating his food and was trying to eat his litter. I took him to the vet to find that he had one of the common health issues they can get which involved his kidneys and I think his liver and they were shutting down. He had to be put down after only 2 or 3 weeks of having him and I bawled my eyes out. He loved nothing more than to curl up on my lap and pur. I had named him Warrior, after the Volbeat song. Now I have a domestic black shorthair named Pepper. She is the sweetest cat and has absolutely no mean streaks with me. She can be funny with other people, but she was a stray and I took her in and she is very grateful. She is an indoor cat and she doesn't like going outsite.

Not half the finger, actually, but the first bone joint (ie.finger tip portion). Still, an awful thing to do to an animal and something some cats never recover from and develop psychological scaring from. As well as a host of physical issues. Kind of how women who choose to wear high-heals can develop joint/body issues from long-term wear of such footwear.

Scottish Straight is a breeder's term to make the cat sound rarer, thus being able to price it higher. In fact, it is a normal British Short/Longhair. As you should NEVER EVER bred 2 Scottish Folds together, it is lethal/deadly for the kittens, they either die in the womb or shortly after with huge deformations.

I honestly wish people would quit trying to breed these different types of wild cats to domestic cats, because it’s not good for the animals or the potential owners. That first generation hybrid cat is literally 50% wild, and that’s gonna be a dominant trait. And like what happens with a lot of Savannah’s when they’re F1’s or F2’s (they contain the highest percentage of Wild DNA. It’s the rating scale that they use with Savannah’s, but it actually gets more complicated than even that) people buy them, get them home, and realize that their diets are expensive because they have certain nutritional requirements that domestic cat food will not suffice; And a lot of times people get these hybrid animals home, realized that they were way too much for the owner to handle because The poor cat is literally too wild for them, and the poor cat ends up in a shelter somewhere, or maybe if they’re lucky, a rescue center for wild animals. Bad enough that people are breeding African servals with domestic cats, But Karikal stand be more aggressive than even the African serval, so this is an enormously bad idea, all the way around. If you want to save an endangered species, breed it with another of the same species, but never try to domesticate a wild animal or think that you can own one. Wild animals should be respected, appreciated and admired, but never owned or tamed.

In morocco I was quite fascinated to see wild native cats and some wild and domestic interbred cats - no-one is doing this it's just the cats themselves. wish someone would do cat genetic studies on the cats there - there are 3 wild species and a combination in the street cats. While some people try hard to breed silver Abyssinians, I saw a family of perfect silver Abyssian cats on the street as a result of natural breeding, or breeding by choice. Unfortunately one of the small native wild cats kills other cats, (I heard stories about them attacking human babies also but? hearsay) and they seem to attack the head and neck- drinking blood and eating the brains. I witnessed this twice. The first time I stupidly defended the cat saying it was looking after it's dying friend. Not so naive the next time. I think forced breeding is a terrible thing in many ways. The only "wild"-looking cat I approve of is the Ocicat - many different breeders and origins producing a spotted cat. Breeds used vary - Abyssinians, Orientals, Siamese, various tabbies. A healthier mix in my view!

A while back I was looking to get myself a main coon cat but I found lots of affordable main coon cross. I look into to it and read somewhere, don't remember where now, that it's a bad idea to buy a main coon cross cause they are prone to heart complications and hardly lives past 3yr of age. You sure your friend had a full bred main coon? Can happen on a full breed but the odds are low like

Even the best breeders still will have kitties with health problems. Sometimes it's just the genetic roulette. Good breeders will health test against known issues from the breed and if they find health issues, will eliminate the individual from their breeding program. Strays, however, breed at random and can be healthy or unhealthy unpredictably. Healthy individuals typically live longer and breed more.

One bit of info for you: the Main Coon is not the largest natural domestic breed (no wild cat breeding). It’s the second largest. The largest would be the rare Norwegian Forrest Cat. Which wasn’t even on your list 🤣 anyway, just thought I’d share that with you. I Love all cats, rescue all cats, and help all cats. Have all my life. All my cats have been rescues, even off the side of the road or from my work parking lot or once from the engine of a car while I was on vacation and I took the cat on vacation with me then took him home! Some have even just showed up at my house or followed me home. However, one of my rescues just happened to be a pregnant Main Coon! When she had her kittens I found a home for her and homes for all her babies; except one. The runt. Who became My beloved Tanner. He was with our family for 19 years before he passed away, and he was the greatest most wonderful loving protective intelligent extraordinary cat I’ve ever known. I still miss him every single day. He will always be the best and truest friend I will ever have. Any cat that shows up on my doorstep has help and food and fresh water and shelter and safety and medical care and love. Currently there is a one eyed cat shacked up in one of the outdoor heated shelters I set up for them. He’s black and white and was very sick when he arrived here. He would have died had he not found me and was near death when he showed up on my porch. He’s very sweet and he’s almost to the point I can pet him. I have three indoor cats all rescues from shelters and they are awesome!! Please if you get a cat, rescue one of the thousands that are loving and sweet and need a good home. ❤️🐈

Sophia Perez that’s so awesome! You’re actually making the world a better place. And to the animals you help and to your precious Hannah, your a hero. Your kindness, thankfulness for the opportunity to care for a creature in need, and your empathy towards other living beings are rare and precious gifts. Sadly we can’t save them all, but as you so eloquently wrote, it means the world to every cat you save. Bless you and your kind, loving heart. If only there were more people like you, the world would be a much better place for humans and animals alike. Thank you for your response too. I’m very happy to meet you. 😽

You apparently know nothing about the coon.I own one and a savanna tabby mix.coons are the biggest forest cats are 2nd maybe 3rd.my coon is 23 lbs and so fluffy and silky and has to have windows open when it’s 15-55 degrees.coons thrive in cold weather and there size and boxing ability is spot on there actually few regular house cats that can handle the coon.my savanna tabby mix even has trouble and she is half wild and seriously wicked.

@@hazeleyesbrandiyingling9262 I had my Main Coon cat Tanner for 19 years before he died in 2013, and his mother before him. I actually delivered him. He grew up with my kids and was an absolute family member not a pet. Anyone who ever met him loved him. He was even a therapy cat with Easter Seals. He walked on a leash and never scratched or bit or hurt anyone his entire life. He was highly intelligent, very loyal, and was pure love yet a fierce mouser. More than any of that though, he was the greatest and truest friend I’ve ever know. I still miss him every single day. He was also 23 pounds in his prime. I suggested to his vet that he was the largest breed and the VET schooled ME and said no, the Norwegian Forrest Cat is the largest breed. Look it up, Google it, it’s true. Or don’t. The most important thing is not these little trivial facts, but the love between you and your best friend, your Main Coon. Treasure every day, make good memories and enjoy all your time with him. They leave us all to soon, even if they were with us 21 years. It’s still to soon. 😿❤️

A manx may a various different lengths of tail. A purebred manx may even have a full length tail on occassion. One thing is that you never want to breed two rumpies (those with basically no tail) together. Ones with a partial tail are known as stumpies. Two rumpies bred together can result in kittens with an incomplete spine.

I told this to a Karen that lives next door to me, after she had her declawed she was in denial, then a week later she cried for days when she searched for the truth. Gotta love the "Karen's"

I have to take this time to inform you that the Khao Manee MAY'VE been here longer then you seem to think. Back in the mid-1960s, I spent the summer on a farm in Maryland USA. The people who owned it were friends of my mothers'. The women bred cats that looked remarkably like the Khao Manee. She claimed these cats were a hybrid of Persian and Siamese. I saw a litter of kittens and even took one home with me.
