Thank you for this great video. I love Picasso. My favorite Picasso painting is Fishing in Antibes, which I saw live at the New York Museum of Modern Art. Picasso's art is poetry, philosophy, religion, and music to me. I consider each painting to be as emotionally intense as an Italian opera. Thank you for this video. I found it fascinating, inspirational, and educational. Cheers!

10 More Things You Didn't Know About Picasso... 1. He worked at an Arby's but preferred to eat at McDonald's 2. He invented both Al Gore, the internet and Bitcoin but not in that order, hoping to one day be able to use all three to buy paints and a computer to paint "Etherium" which he painted as the sequel to "Airplane! II: The Sequel" 3. Alfred Hitchcock and Orson Welles would often use him to play both their cameos and potted plants, he would go on hunger fasts to reach potted plant stature 4. Never was called "Picky" for short but would often answer to "Dixie" or "Fido". 5. Not really from Spain but from the Spanish section of the South Bronx where he liked to hang out at Bamburgers where all the tough Bohemian artists used to hang out in their penny loafers 6. Often used to hang out at Monk's and dream of making a tv show about nothing, but was not sure Jim Cramer was right for the part of the neighbor, changed the name to "Reverend Jim" and then "Monica", but NBC wasn't interested 7. "Guernica" was the original pilot for both the "The Brady Bunch" and "The A-team" but it was never picked up for prime time because the networks already had two war sitcoms, one was called "M*A*S*H," and the other, "The Jeffersons" 8. Never made sculptures in lemon jello but would often borrow Matisse's scissors to cut up his chocolate pudding into a Cha-Cha-Cha-Chia pets. 9. Would often run behind Rocky Balboa in Philadelphia chanting in French, "my baguette fights better than you!", to which Balboa would reply, "at least I don't run like I'm wearing high heels and by the way, Matisse wants his scissors back so he can collage you a wig like Mr. T's". Mr. T would often run behind Picasso and say "I pity the fool who eats my chocolate pudding..." behind him Al Gore would run and hop barefoot on one foot to leave a low carbon footprint and behind him Sally Struthers would run and shout "Save the Whales! Save the Whales!" ...to which Carvel's Fudgey the Whale, in high heels, would run and shout behind her, "Save Sally Struthers! Save Sally Struthers!... but don't let her eat me!" -- all running is in reverse evolutionary order with Fudgey being at the top of the evolutionary tree -- "Damn Dirty Fudgey Whales!" 10. Used to jam with Jim Morrison and The Doors on "L.A. Woman" but his solos sounded more like a cross between the themes of "The Rockford Files" and "Murphy Brown".

I see the pai ting styles of Picasso & MF Hussain are quite similar & easy to draw from skill point of view by any student. So - it inspires young artists to copy / do some experiments with thick black lines & color. It is quick & easy. But the essence of it has not come easily. It is lot of Experience & experimentation - par excellence. At the end, these painting inspire every one to start with a line & experiment & experience & explore themselves. Artists need not sell for big money. They can make for their self expression. At the end- Art is not business after? the way it is made to be in most cases - more so with Picasso. At some point - European values have to die for the sake of Art.

Have I seen a Picasso in real life? Funny story, that. While doing a unit on Guernica, I had an enthusiastic student state that his brother had a Picasso, and did I want to see it? He brought in a framed print, I thought it was neat, he left it and it sat in the back of my room for a few weeks while wet paintings dried next to it. When his brother found out, he was livid. Turns out that what I thought was a poster was a real print made by Picasso. It was worth $15,000 - $17,000.

01:25 📜 Picasso's full name is 23 words long, originating from various saints and relatives. 02:20 👶 His midwife initially thought he was stillborn, but he was revived by his uncle using cigar smoke. 03:13 ✏ Picasso's first word was "pencil," reflecting his early inclination towards art. 03:39 🎨 He completed his first painting at age 9, showing early signs of his artistic talent. 04:34 💰 His painting "Les Femmes d'Alger (Version O)" sold for $179.4 million, making it one of the most expensive artworks ever sold. 05:41 🖼 Seven of Picasso's paintings are among the top 50 most expensive paintings in the world. 06:36 💵 At his death, Picasso had an estimated net worth of $500 million. 07:02 ⚖ Picasso's family had a prolonged legal battle over his estate, involving substantial legal fees and disputes over the right to use his name. 07:45 🎨 Picasso's art is categorized into various periods, including the Blue Period, Rose Period, and Cubism. 08:25 👕 He was known for his love of striped shirts, particularly the Breton striped shirts. 09:16 🏛 Picasso was the first living artist to have his work displayed at the Louvre Museum. 09:59 🕵‍♂ He was questioned by French police when the Mona Lisa was stolen, due to a suggestion by his friend, poet Guillaume Apollinaire. 10:42 🎨 Picasso's works are the most stolen of any artist, with over 1,000 pieces missing. 11:24 🚫 During WWII, the Nazis banned him from showing his art, labeling it as 'degenerate.' 11:50 ⛰ He is buried on Mont Sainte-Victoire- 00:00 ⚙ The movement, or the mechanism that drives the watch, is a critical factor in a luxury watch, with mechanical movements being particularly valued. 03:15 🔍 The watch's crystal, especially if made from sapphire, adds significant value due to its durability and manufacturing process. 04:09 🏗 A luxury watch's construction should be robust, with high-quality metal or materials and a solid feel, reflecting its craftsmanship. 05:06 🎨 The finish, whether polished or brushed, contributes to the watch's aesthetics, indicating meticulous attention to detail. 05:46 🖐 The bracelet or strap should feel special and unique, made from high-quality materials that fit perfectly with the watch's design. 06:13 🔒 The clasp and closure of the watch play a vital role in security and comfort, with the best watches often featuring a double or triple locking system. 06:28 🌟 Materials used in a luxury watch can range from gold and platinum to ceramic and exotic materials, contributing to its exclusivity and value. 07:23 💎 Decoration on a luxury watch, whether hidden in the movement or overtly present, makes the watch unique and special, thereby enhancing its value. 07:50 🏷 Brand signature, displayed in key areas of the watch, underlines the brand's identity and adds to the watch's prestige. 08:18 💍 Jewels in luxury watches, like sapphires or diamonds, elevate their status from a mere timepiece to a piece of fine jewelry. 08:45 💡 High-end watches may have illuminant features for visibility in the dark, with materials like Super-LumiNova being a sign of quality. 09:26 🛠 Complications in a watch, such as perpetual calendars or moon phases, indicate complexity and craftsmanship, contributing to its luxury status. 10:08 🌟 Special features in luxury watches, like resistance to extreme conditions, set them apart and cater to specific, often professional, needs. 10:49 🎨 Design is crucial in luxury watches, where both functionality and artistry are balanced, often making them collectors' items. 11:18 🔍 Certifications like the Geneva Seal or Chronometer certification signify a watch's accuracy, quality, and origin, adding to its prestige. [12:14](kzread.info/dash/bejne/oa2o1bFvaLOZfdI.html&t=- 00:00 🎨 Vincent van Gogh had multiple individuals named Vincent in his family, including a stillborn older brother. 02:07 🧠 Van Gogh likely suffered from multiple mental illnesses, including schizophrenia, manic depression, and epilepsy. 02:49 🖌 Van Gogh began painting at the age of 27, later than many artists, after a series of different careers. 03:32 ❤ He lived with and cared for a Dutch prostitute, Sien, and her child, showcasing a compassionate side of his life. 04:26 💰 His painting "Portrait of Dr. Gachet" sold for $82.5 million, making it one of the most expensive art pieces sold. 05:08 🎨 Van Gogh was highly prolific, creating about 2,100 artworks in a decade, averaging four pieces per week. 06:05 🌻 His "Sunflowers" painting marked a significant point in art history, selling for $62 million in 1987. 06:19 🖼 Four of Van Gogh's paintings are among the top 30 most expensive ever sold, reflecting his posthumous fame. 07:13 🛒 Van Gogh only sold one painting during his lifetime, "Red Vineyards Near Arles," for approximately $1,000. 07:56 🌈 His time in Paris was transformative, leading to more colorful and vibrant works compared to his earlier pieces. 08:39 🌟 His sister-in-law, Johanna, was instrumental in promoting his work posthumously, leading to his widespread recognition. 09:20 🤳 Van Gogh could be considered the original "selfie king," having created 43 self-portraits over three years. 10:14 🏥 Some of his iconic works, including "Starry Night," were painted while he was in an asylum. 10:55 💔 He possibly had an affair with artist Paul Gauguin and the story of Van Gogh cutting off his ear may involve Gauguin. 11:49 🕵 There's a theory that Van Gogh was murdered, challenging the long-held belief that he died by suicide.

Great video about Picasso. I love the voice. The French names of the paintings were not pronounced correctly though. For example “ Femmes D’Alger” should be pronounced “ Faame” just like the sound of a sheep “ baah” don’t worry about pronouncing the “s” at the end. It is silent.

Very interesting, but a few errors...Paloma is his younger daughter, not his 'eldest.' When she talks about WW II, the sign says WW I. His death bed quote is questionable. His most famous line was when the Nazi held up a copy of Geurnica to him as said, "Did you do this?" His reply, "No, You did." Fascinating and well done movie about Picasso on the NG channel, under their Genius series, and now on Hulu and/or Amazon Prime. Antonio Banderas plays the older Picasso, and said it was a role of a lifetime for him.
