Imagine when the warranty expires 🤣

The seat heater is probably related to the passenger sensor. If no one is in the seat it won’t heat. My Audi does that, it’s the same sensor that disables the airbag if no one is there. Also activates the seatbelt alarm if something heavy is in the seat without the seatbelt being buckled.

Yes... That is exactly the reason for the seats.... There are also reasons to many of his other items, like the tailgate. There is a safety feature in both the frunk and tailgate that if there is any resistance, it reverses. Just lightly trying to stop it closing with your hand will cause it to reverse course. That carpet lining in the bed, is not from the factory and goes across the tailgate separation. That surely will cause enough resistance once in a while to initiate the safety. With the frunk, if the safety goes off, or you manually "help" the frunk up or down, then it needs to be reset by manually lowering the frunk closed. It will then go back to working normally. The initial software was abysmal as he stated but it's night and day from when he posted his video. Build quality "loose screws" has also improved drastically since this early build. It truly is a great truck now.

It's my understanding that Ford has experienced the highest warranty costs of any car company for each of the last 10 years.

I love my F150. It's a 1995.

Thanks for sharing. I'm glad I didn't get one having seen this. You have a lot of patience! I'd be pi**ed if I spent 80K on a vehicle and had that many problems. People have also reported that Ford doesn't seem to want to address many of these issues. It's really sad that 30 years ago, just one of those issues would have invoked an immediate recall. Now, it just seems to be the norm. You're just supposed to live with it until the fixe comes in a year or two. These companies say that the customer comes first and is always the number one priority but they deliver inferior products to their customers. It's the world we live in nowadays.

the frunk issue was likely, your truck recognized someone's in the trunk, so it was a safety issue, the massage issue, your son doesn't weigh enough to engage the seat, it thinks no one is in the seat there for it won't turn on, as with the other issues, most will say NEVER buy a new vehicle the first model year, until they work out the bugs. (issues) i hope you love your truck, I'm waiting until the bugs are worked out, the price comes down, and the batteries have a longer range, which will happen as the technology improves.

I drive ford SUVs at my work. Usually CarPlay and AndroidAuto connection issues is fixes by going into general settings and master resetting. I usually have to do this every month or so

It was too small for us. My wife hated it. I liked that it had two power sources but we are EV people at heart.

This explains very well why I haven't owned a North American vehicle since the 80's.

Nope. It will close with a human in there. There is no human sensor.

I can’t believe paying all that money for the “ best selling truck in 50 years” and having all these issues.

This is why I stopped buying fords back in 2010, trouble with dependability, trouble with dealer service. And now prices have sky rocketed and still problematic. And in spite of the new Bronco being a great looking rig I'll never buy one, don't trust it, and extremely over priced in my opinion. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

Apparently, your F-150 thought you were (profile) cancelled. :) I think it has an anti-locking kid in the frunk feature! :) I wonder if your kid doesn't weigh enough and there is a sensor that stops the massager if nobody is in the seat-I will be interested to see if it stays on with you in the seat. I'm really kind of surprised at the fit and finish quality issues-I would have expected that from a Tesla, but certainly not a Ford F-150... I've sill got my Rav4 Prime, which I love, and have had no problems at all in the two years I have had it, but I still REALLY want one of these...probably be a while before I spring for one, though. I telework full time, now, and we don't need a second vehicle, so I am living the one SUV life. I figure by the time I get one of these suckers, they will have all the bugs worked out. Out of curiosity, do you actually get the 240 mile range? How big a battery pack is it?

I'm pretty sure the kid put fingerprints on the sensors, probably hid his toy in the shifter and probably broke the doors, deleted your profiles, etc.

Your tailgate 'issue' is just the mat binding between the bed and the tailgate. I have a Powerboost with a BedRug lining and I had to work with the material between so it folded 'up' to get it to close every time.

I have a bedliner. I made a video about it. Its the first thing I did. No material has ever gotten between the tailgate and the bed.

You definitely have a transition piece from your bed to the tailgate. You should remove the transitional strip and it should close fine.

Ford gave you all the issues so you have endless content for your channel and gave me very few. I have the tailgate issue but have a tunnel cover.

Glad you have had no issues. I still love the truck and wont get rid of it, I just wish it was perfect.

$80,000 + for a hunk of Ford junk. After my 2002 Ford Ranger, I have stayed far away from Ford. Plus, what good is a pickup truck that can’t tow rv trailers more than 100 miles between charges!!

It's unfortunate that Ford is unwilling to leave it's bad quality products and reliability in the past. Ford refuses to make a quality product. I would never buy this truck.

I have a friend who used the lemon law for his 2002 Ford Lightning and when it was over it over he still has his has moved from NY to CA them to FL

Sadly this type of build quality is kind of normal for most all new vehicles now...I have coworkers with similar experiences out of a new Tundra, one with a new Ram, and one with a new F150 3.5 V6, even my neighbor with a new Tesla is having non stop glitches....The days of buying a new vehicle and driving it 10 years with nothing more than say a water pump or 1 power window dying is over with...

I have a 2022 Kia and whenever I turn the turn signals on it thinks there's someone in the lane I'm merging in to. Also, every single time I back out, it warns me that someone is coming from either direction. It has also auto brakes at the most ramdom times, several times almost causing an accident.

On July 2021, I made a Reservation for a Ford F-150 Lighting Back then the MSRP for the PRO version was 40k, on March 30 2023 I finally got the email from Ford to complete my reservation by choosing the version that I was interested on, just to find out that the PRO version is not even available, and it’s MSRP is now 60k, I almost threw up… I better go get a Tesla instead.

Wow ur hard earned money on that what a shame…. There is no reason to have all those issues on any new vehicle thanks for sharing.

Have to say, I have a Pro , and most of these issues don’t even apply to me. Most of these, other than like the door screw, have to do with the tech. I’ve been very happy and haven’t had any issues. Like Biggie said…Mo Money, Mo Problems! HaHa.

No problem with my lariat-I see a lot of customization going on there, one clip one set of wheels, next clip different wheels, you sprayed your tailgate dude! That’s probably screwing up the sensors-leave the truck ALONE

I have a pro too and thought the same. That being said this is absolutely crazy. Especially for fit and finish stuff that isn’t really lightning specific! I would raise hell at the dealer

Hello, I have a 2023 Lightning Lariat, and once I had problems with the Android Car (similar to AppleCar) and it was that I turned off the 5gh Wi-Fi frequency on my cell phone, I don't know if it's the same on iPhones, but I just turned it back on and it connected without problems to my truck. I understand that to do it, use the 5ghz frequency of the cell to make it wireless

Is best to wait a year to buy a new product so they can get the bugs out

You say you still love it but with all those issues I don't know why. I wouldn't buy one. I am very happy with my RAV4 Prime. Not ready for a full EV yet. Obviously, lots to sort out but my main concern is range. I want a EV that at the minimum can go 400 miles w/o a charge.

Its so rare that anyone needs to go that far straight. Id even be ok with a slightly smaller batter than I have now if there were more charging stations. I can drive for around 3 hours now and the family always needs to stop around 2-2.5 hours. So more chargers would be nice.

And chargers are being built and they work. Its still early times for the 02nd coming of the EV. The post of 'I need 300 miles of range ' is a lame excuse. When the 500mile range battery comes to market in, likely 04 years, he will want an 800 mile range. I own an EV and have heard ALL the lame excuses and ALL the mindless, fact free hate. @@JamesKlafehn

You definitely had some assembly issues. Must have been built on a Monday or Friday.

Quick comment about Apple Carplay connectivity. I have an iPhone 12 Pro and a 2017 Ford Explorer. The 2017 Ford Explorer is connect via cable only. The cables get flakey after a while so they start having issues of connecting and disconnecting constantly. The Apple Cables are generally good for about a year and then i start having issues with them. I've started noticing that the end that plugs into the phone has started to crack. So there has to be a signally issue with the cable. On another note, my iphone sometimes has issues with wireless connectivity or charging from a Qi charger. So I have to reboot my phone to get get everything working again. Try doing that and see if the Bluetooth connectivity starts working again. Sometimes its the phone's fault and not the vehicle's fault. Thanks for putting up the video. I'm still trying to decide whether to convert on my reservation.

I had to disable my Bluetooth on my phone few times when the hands-free doesn't connect. That uses wifi not Bluetooth and sometimes it has connection priority issues. Mine also disconnects when I go under a specific power line in my neighborhood almost everyday.

That thing is more than broken, take it to the dealer. I have a Lightning Platinum and have 0 issues with it.

Alot of this are updates and adjustments. Buy a hybrid mines been great. To many set backs with all electric!!!

Your magnetic charger is interfering with your bluetooth. Take your phone off the mount then reset to see if that fixes it. I have a ford e transit and it did the same thing.

I own a 2015 Nissan Xterra Pro-4X with 110,000 miles. Nothing has broke yet, knock on wood.

Was your truck locked when you tried to close the frunk? I've run into that before.

Must be luck of the draw, I have had my Lariet 9 months with 10k miles and have not had these issues.

I agree with you, when you buy an expensive vehicle it needs to work properly. On my channel I call put the things that I'm having issues with my 2021 Powerboost.

I'll keep my tundra. Driven lightning I got range anxiety not even sitting in the truck. These things are gonna be a flop

I have also encountered an intermittent problem connecting to Apple CarPlay. Most of the time, it connects automatically. Other times, I get the dreaded "use a cable" message. Lou from Georgia (Lariat EB).

But your's still works wirelessly? Its been so long I forget what its like.

I like the adaptive cruise, but don't care for the hands free and the only way I can disable blue cruise hands free is to turn off lane centering. Consequently I won't be paying for it when my trial expires.

Have you tried updating the system firmware? Some of these like carplay seem like it can be fixed with an update

It must be frustrating as heck to be a service technician for one of these car manufactures these days and try and troubleshoot all of these issues not like back in the day in the 1960s and 1970s but he just had an engine transmission some power switches and that was it

The trunk cover malfunction is reminiscent of the big problem on the 2002 Lincoln Blackwood automatic tonneau cover. Laughable.

Initial quality is the first 90 days of new car ownership. Really should not have any issues with any car manufacturer during that time, its the long term reliability which is typically past 3 years at approximately around 45K-50K miles(15K annually). Its the potential out of warranty out-of-pocket expenses that people should consider when choosing a car manufacturer.

Perhaps the warning about an obstacle on the right side of the truck was triggered by the camera seeing that your truck was almost on the line delineating the parking slot you were in.

Thing qualifies as a lemon with all those problems

Owner of electric truck Hood stopped closing. Owner had 5 hours of ownership. Humm. Rear door handle not fitted properly.

The more bs they put on those things the more likely it’ll break. That’s why Toyota is so dependable. Super simple and they keep the same models for a decade.

Pretty annoying for sure, I had a lot of similar issues with my 21 f150. On a positive note though ford will fix everything. If it’s an issue ford fixes it, they did for me at least and it seems that the fixes are permanent and I haven’t had the issues come back

You guys don't get it...ford guys. The only issues that are acceptable on a new truck are none. 9 year old tundra had one set of brakes. You guys keep your tech your turbos your flaky quality control I issues and your free coffees at the dealer lounge. I'll be at the pump putting done h Gas in and be on my way 109k

@@666dynomax I had quite a few issues on my 2016 tundra which is why I sold it. Nothing is perfect, was a great truck but it made more trips to the dealership than I have with ford so far.

@@666dynomax ya I have had only Toyotas all tacomas this is my first Ford. My tundra was the first one that had any issues. Personal opinion I don’t see a huge difference in quality between the ford and Toyota. I don’t really mind if there are some issues and I’ve found both ford and Toyota stand behind their product which is what really matters. I think modern vehicles just have too many electronics which is what ends up failing

The truck is about a year old and you are having all of these problems. How many problems are you going to have after a few years. My 2019 Tacoma was a lot cheaper and so far not 1 thing has gone wrong with it.

15 things? Thats a lot. Ill bet most of them are connected by a common fuse or loose electrical connector or something like that. !

Not sure about wireless Android Auto or Car play but if it doesn't work with a cable. You need a new cable. I had that problem with my Tundra. Tech guy at Toyota told me to try a new cable and it worked. So, FORD is FAILURE OF RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT. I am a Toyota guy and my Tundra is 3 now and it has no issues. The two warranty items was a new battery and a new windshield.

TOO Much TECHNOLOGY without QUALITY CONTROL so PROBLEMS!!

Maybe it has a human sensor to keep you from closing the trunk on your son? Just a thought...

Can you please compare the Rav4 Prime to a F-150 Lightning? I know it's apples to oranges, but I can't decided which of the two I really want to upgrade to. I currently have a Rav4 Hybrid. I'm sure others are on the same boat.

Sounds like you got a Friday at quiting time truck😂, I got water in the front and back light bar now my tell gate opens randomly I should post a video on it, it has been in the shop for 3 weeks now at least they gave me a rental truck

Id drive that back to the dealer and ask should I call the local news or what are you going to do here ?
