It's weird that they added additional animation details that the GBA lacked while also making a conscious decision to not reanimate some obvious ones.

The only ones they didn't reanimate were Mario's corpse being burned and laying there slouched and his shocked body laying there twitching. It's pretty obvious why those ones weren't remade

My question is, aside from the "less dialogue makes you relate to the character more" reason, why were some of the voice clips removed from the original? The laughing at DK part I can understand cause Mario is represented as a friendly guy and laughing at DK can come across as mean, but like at least lines like him saying "Mario vs Donkey Kong!" at the title screen should've stayed in imo

@@DiariosVideos If that's actually true then they were probably done as tests at first then decided on changing some of them up later. The remake ones are barely any different than the original's, the only two that are noticably different are his fire and shock deaths. Otherwise him falling off the screen as opposed to falling on his face or back achieves the same thing.

@@DiariosVideos Well it's a remake and they probably just wanted to have a different portrayal of the cutscenes this time. That portrayal not needing a few lines from the original. Not many were cut, a few but not a lot. I agree Mario saying the title should've stayed, I just will never agree or understand why some people act like the remake is a downgrade and/or bad just because they didn't hear some lines from the original.

The removed animation for Monchees might be to make them look more like toys. Since their faces are made of plastic, they can't change shape.

There’s at least one more difference: when Mario gets shocked, a different death music cue plays. Burnt in the GBA version; hit in the Switch version.

Fun fact: mario and donkey Kong's animation on the title screen in the new version are mov files so you can easily mod them

For the first one, the switch version doesn't have the voice over for the title screen, but Mario and Donkey Kong do have an animation interacting with each other. It's so cute. 😊

The GBA version was ahead of its time.

Extra bit about jumping on birds, you can't jump on the fire ones, making it so they have 2 total differences mechanically instead of one (the original being you can't deflect the fireballs with handstands)

Would LOVE to see some "Cool things" episodes on Super Mario Sunshine. Your eyes see and retain interesting details that typically evade less vigilant eyes like mine.

Did you know the fruit falling sound is the classic Scooby Doo run sound in reverse? I highlighted this in one of my videos.

There's one more detail about death that people sometimes forget. 1- when you recover mini Mario in the + phases, when he touches the enemy or falls on the spikes, Mini Mario Explodes (Or Evaporates, I don't know, it just disappears), in the Remake They Removed and Remake's death is the same as Mario's. 2- when Mini Mario Dies when Mini Mario Says "Mama Mia!" Mario Also Speaks Mama Mia in the GBA Version, but in the Remake They Chose to Only Have Mini Mario Saying That And finally 3- When Mario dies (without being mini Mario of course) Mini Mario seeing Mario's Finished State, Mini Mario Starts Crying! (How come no one knew about this? And look, I've never seen a toy cry in any fictional work lol) But in the Remake they removed that (I think) Do Part 3! I really liked this video, I've been subscribed here for 2 and a half years!😁🙏👍✨

Could be a clip from the original game's recording session that went unused to save space. Charles has said that there are "over 5 million" audio files of him voicing Mario.

One big difference I’ve noticed is the music from Fire Mountain. The GBA sounded so cool, like it was a hip hop beat, but in the remake they COMPLETELY changed it with something more orchestral and haunted. It’s not necessarily *bad* but I still prefer the GBA version.

to me, the original felt more like a journey. And the levels going in order actually taught you mechanics you'd need in late stages.

@@wariolandgoldpiramid All of the levels that teach you mechanics mainly focus on that one mechanic and don't include many others (besides climbing, which is the first), so learning them in a specific order isn't strictly necessary.

They really removed a lot of the charm this game had in its sound effects and graphics didn't they

The remake has tone down the realism and made the title easier and less challenging, which is a massive turn off for me.

@@chrange9714 They probably meant Mario's personality, who experienced a wider range of emotions, like a real human would (so more realistic), in the original than in the remake. Also I dunno if that's what they meant, but in the original, some enemies were toys, but most of them were actual living creatures who lived in that environment. Now most enemies are toys that don't really have a place in these environments and their presence makes less sense.

@@Oceane1803 He experiences the same amount of emotions in the remake as he does in the original, he's just less angry and that anger was swapped out for panic. He still expresses a wide range of emotions like a real human, being shown to be surprised, panicked, angry, and caring. Enemies like Monchies were still toys in the original, they just weren't shown to be very well. The remake fixes that, in fact the remake actually makes the birds real birds while the original had them looking more toy like. All of the toy enemies have a place in the environments because it fits the theme of the game and makes sense why DK would send toy enemies at you. Their presence makes the same amount of sense.

A distinct downgrade, as usual. Also, why is audio-design so awful nowadays? Not just in this game, but for the entire industry. I mean, everything has gone down in quality for the last two decades, but audio seems especially boring and uninspired in modern games.
