I was asked at a pub by a friend if I wanted a woman's cola and I said no (I hate soda) anyway she sensed a slight hesitation and asked me again more persuasively and I said no but every time I said no she would ask again and try even harder to persuade me. After I said no for maybe the 10th or 11th time I gave up and agreed. Anyway as I got to the bottom of the drink it started to taste weird and I looked into the drink and she had accidentally dropped a dirty used poker chip into it. I'm also a germaphob. Anyway that was a truly horrible lesson that taught me if someone asks me a question and I give an answer if they ask me again to change my mind I f**king let them know immediately that don't ever ask me the same question twice. I hope this might help anyone not fall for the same mistake I made in future.

One simple example exists a thousandfold on social media: "I bet you cannot solve the below math problem" or "I bet you cannot answer the below question!" - manipulating people with reverse psychology, so they wanna proof the post wrong and that they can well answer. Or packaging a question into a fun game "Tell something about your hometown/tell me what area of the country you are from" is often used by scammers to find out info about possible victims. Or fake competitions made to gain info - as a potential win looming makes people's brains switch off and they only see the win like Dollars signs flashing in their eyes (Which of course isn't true). And scary how many people fall for these manipulative tricks.

Yes Thoreau said many factual things in "Walden". Some found the book the challenging, however I thorough enjoyed it. 🇹🇹 I speak about the 'rat race' in one of my books. It shows the dynamic of rich and poor and the class war. I agree with you that the poor and uneducated are the easiest to manipulate, but I will go a step further in saying they are highly manipulative themselves (the poor). I have a stubborn near and dear person who was manipulating me all throughout my life. I never realized it as I got told that whatever is being done is for my good. I used to be a perfectly obedient child, who got bullied at school. It was very late in life that I realized that I am being setup to walk away from my beliefs and dreams only to make the other person's dreams and expectations of me come true. And to add to that, the echo chamber in the form of other relatives and society only made it worse. Still does. But Thankfully, one decision taken by the same person helped me come out of that vicious circle and realize my critical thinking ability. Today, I am the one who has given that near and dear one a Push-Back where everyone else just chose to stay quiet and back-off in front of them. They are a dominant figure and are feared. I because of my actions have become fearful as well to an extent. I am still working on bettering my emotional intelligence and physical strength. This video tugged on right strings.

My response to living life in a quiet desperation? Years ago I would have said "yes". Today "no" I moving forward in my life in all my aspects .

The truth is we all get manipulated to behave a certain way, the most common is to get a decent job, get married/find a partner and have children. And they then have to repeat it all over again.

when people who are my family used my credit to purchase stuff when they promised they would make the payments on stuff purchased and then default on the payments which they don't have to pay the price for it , i do . act really weird when it comes to money , say things to me like its no point in getting upset because you'll just make everyone else around you upset so now i just keep my mouth shut . but yet constantly order things on amazon almost on a weekly basis however they get the money but cant make any effort what so ever to pay me back . the list goes on , but one valuable lesson ive learned is that dont fuck off your credit for anyone family or not . people only come around when they need something but never reach out to you to see how your doing . fuck em & surround yourself with people who actually care about you . and its never selfish to take care of yourself

I lived the street life,for quite sometime. I've been manipulated, most ,of my life. In high school I was extremely reactive,soy temper made me the easy prey ,for those who knew how to trigger me.

She’s Canadian. The way she pronounces the “ou” diphthong is a giveaway. Americans generally say “OW,” Canadians generally say closer to “OO.” (I’m American.)

Yeah because all conspiracies are the same aren't they. That's really smart to generalise everything over the last 200 years. The people behind the scenes would never lie, it's just a silly conspiracy. It would be better advice to say, don't waste your life trying to solve conspiracies but rather improving your own life.
