Giant who throws boulders down into fortress respawns. So you can't get rid of him permanently

  • @libralonix

This is true, but it will keep the boulders permanently disabled while on your current run. From my experience no matter how many times i turn that damned boulder contraption it still resets while I'm exploring the fortress. My theory is the giant sticks his hand down and turns it when I'm not looking!

The blocking backflip I would guess is is triggered by successfully blocking an attack that would have put you flat on your back with 0 poise. I think blocking ignores poise since blocking even a blowdart in heavy armor still stops you for a split second. So flip block = would have been a naked pancake

I'm not sure if you if you already mentioned this, but If you wear Havel's shield, and press the Left Trigger your character gets a sort of stone armor? It causes damage to the shield, though., and it last for 30 seconds. I just found this out, because I'm playing and found this out, right now🤣. You don't even need to wear Havel's ring for the stone armor, you still need 50 strength to wield Havel's shield, though.

Just a heads up that # 1 is disabled in the Age of sunlight mod. One I’m surprised didn’t make it on the list (as it took me years to discover)is that if you throw a Lloyd’s talisman at an aggravated mimic it will put it right back asleep, you can even walk up to it and pluck the loot right out of its mouth, note that this one is also disabled in age of sunlight (because you can effortlessly kill them by putting them to sleep and doing a 2h heavy repeatedly)

On my first ever (and ultimately abandoned) playthrough I accidentally hit Andre and because he was aggro'd I fought and killed him. Then every time I walked through that area, there would be no sound of smithing, just an eternal ragdoll to feel shitty about. Funny enough, if you kill the male undead merchant, his body will also remain, but I feel no remorse for his death, plus he drops a katana.

I knew 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, and 15. My obscure two or sorta obscure is Artorias was based on Guts from Berserk supposedly and Artorias and those associated with him is one of few characters to have some kind of presence or impact that's in all 3 Dark Souls games (his boss fight in 1, Nashandra is a Fragment of Manus who Artorias failed to defeat ultimately creating a time paradox in which his dlc occurs, and the Abyss Watchers in 3 being clearly taken from him)

No 3 is probably an "attack level" sort of deal in fighting game lingo Some attacks by these huge enemies would be considered "massive attacks" and, thus, even if you block, you get this blowback animation. One thing to verify, which I never thought to, is whether shield hardness or size category parameter comes into play. i.e: Does it happen with Greatshields and/or the Iron Round Shield (which has greatshield tier deflection despite being a medium shield)? No 6 is... does this count as a secret? No 7 is incorrect as already pointed out by others but, fun fact, that is the only giant that does actually respawn. If I'm not mistaken, because of that, it's also the only one who isn't guaranteed a Titanite Chunk drop, though it does have a chance to do so For No 8 I COULD be misremembering but IIRC, even though you're normally impervious to attacks while in the coffin, there is a special critical attack animation for invaders against players in the coffin Only new ones for me were Ingward (wait... wat?!?!?! Guess I never did go back to speak to him, serves him right for living in the worst place in the game?) and Solaire's bonus one. That would also probably make Gwyndolin have extra health from the summon's presence though, so a little warning there, I guess. Surprised he doesn't BSS out from that range, tbh

3:50 As others have said, you'll never permanently disable it, since the giant respawns. 4:40 Good, you remembered my humble contribution in the last secrets video. 9:05 Since I'm not conting the development infos since there aren't game secrets, just trivia, I'm still mad I didn't know about the last one ... My honor is hurt 😑.Not that it matters since at the moment I almost don't have place to store my sunlight medals.

  • @libralonix

Regarding the boulders, and this is my fault for not explaining it thoroughly. You are indeed correct it wont permanently stop the boulders if you refresh by siting at a bonfire or warping in/out. More so that it stops the boulders in that run. In my experience even when i shift the boulder contraption to another position, it still resets itself after I've walked away. Always happy to take in extra facts and tips for future videos, its how we all learn, sharing is caring! And don't feel bad about the last one, i only learnt it this last month too, it is pretty obscure!

2:43 Oh man, discovering the pagan references of your games is kinda creepy when you see cults doing it. But this explains the philosophy of Miyazaki, i just read some people mentioning the Yoga pose and others Thelema. I don't know which one is what Miyazaki followed. But it disturbs me as a believer in the one God, since we are not meant to worship his creating but him himself... altough i guess raising your hands is quite universal, and intentions matter more than the act itself. I guess a dark game will have dark stuff in it. Peace

I would like to say in response to "with some extremely lazy ones" that i do take a lot of time and care to curate lists of obscure things for this series of "secrets" videos and to ensure that nothing too obvious (that the player would easily encounter on their own) is included. Each of these videos takes anywhere between 20-30 hours to write, record and edit together, and I work extremely hard to provide a high quality of content (both from a visual perspective, but also with the content itself) for you to enjoy. I would hate to think that anyone thought any items included are just for the sake of it. I really do appreciate you taking the time to watch the video and provide your feedback, its always welcome! I for one completely missed the Gravelord Covenant Coffin on my first couple of playthroughs (played blind) and as a lot of people play without guides/without messages its far too easy to miss things like that. Most beginner videos cover very basic information on how the games mechanics work, and basic hints and tips, as most avoid spoilers wherever possible. Its very rare for a beginner video to just outright say "here's all the best items in the game ". Again, I'm not saying there aren't videos that would include that information, but from my experience and extensive research, it isn't commonplace as "beginner knowledge".
