I’ve never been to Agra but would love to go. On a separate visit we went on the canals at Cochin - beautiful. India is special. There was a reserved woman receptionist at the Viceroy’s House in Simla, who became much friendlier when she overheard me talking about a picture of Nehru and Lady Mountbatten, who had affair when Lady M was there as Viceroy’s wife 🫢🤣

True about the diversity, especially in London. My husband was from India and we were walking in Hyde Park back around 1958 when he saw an old friend from his military academy. They were so pleased to meet so unexpectedly but - that is London - you never know who you might see. Yes, we even bumped into a film star there, John Derek, followed by his entourage! I didn't notice if his wife Bo Derek was with him; more likely my husband did!! Well, she was glamorous - definitely a '10'.

Dear Imrose. Opening a bank account should not be difficult if thats what you mean. There are only 2 documents needed for opening a bank account. ID proof which would be your passport and address proof. The letter from NHS stating your NHS accommodation will be OK. But if you chose to stay in a private rental apartment, your letter of contract from the landlord will be sufficient. If you stay with friends and family then it might be difficult because then you dont have rental contract and no electricity or water bills to show. Best Wishes.

I am glad that you are enjoying life here. India is vast by comparison with the UK. I was fortunate to spend 10 weeks travelling around Northern India back in the 1990s and I only skimmed the surface, even if using trains rather than flying. It might take a lifetime to see all of that fascinating country. Strange how a lot of expats in the UK mention pubs in their videos about life here. Maybe your side passion should be making adverts for the UK tourist board.

PLAB is a licensing exam to get medical license with GMC. To get into residency/training you need to apply to the speciality you want to pursue. Also, to be able to do that you need GMC registration/U.K. medical license regardless.

Can u shed some light on the point of migrating one's parents to UK. I am 3rd yr Internal medicine resident in SMS,jaipur and my wife is in 3rd of Obgyn in AIIMS delhi. My parents have a private practice and they r both doctors, physician and obgyn. How can they come and stay with us? Like if we are planning to have a baby there, it would be better if our parents are with us. I would really appreciate if u make a video on it. I guess most of the people who are in my state of mind must be having this question. Thank u btw 🙏🏼

Vapul. It is very difficult for parents to get settlement in UK. They can come and go as they will be granted multiple entry visitor visa. So parents visiting their daughter or daughter in law for the birth of a child, visa would be readily granted but if you are thinking of long term staying with you till the child starts going to school , that would not be possible.

Dear Shalini. Dr Monisha is talking about post MBBS. Depends on what you call better. You would be doing the language IELTS exam and UCAT exam and possibly an interview depending on the university. And fees is mininum 25000 pounds per annum. Accomodation and living costs are separate . Multiply that by 4 yrs to get the total cost of studying. You would be getting paid in FY1 and FY2 before you enter higher training. Hope that helps.

Condition of doctors during residency in UK can't even be compared with Indian residency. Here in India we work like dogs😑. Just all work and no appreciation,no career growth, miniscule stripend, no extra pay for extra hours,no leave even for 10 days in year, have to arrange paid replacement from own pocket during absence, bossy foul-mouthed seniors, constant exam pressure, fight for seats with golden caste and tribe people 😝

Interesting video, just had a few qs for you- 1- Have gone through yur earlier vids...so maternity leave was an important consideration for you yet you r not interested in starting family. 2- India is a state of jugaad? Would you say you're such a hypocrite that you got through everything here without ever using any jugaad? And are you suggesting everyone here who did not choose to move to your country of choice stayed here only for the sake of jugaad? 3- I don't see why you became a doctor if leaves were that important for you. Should be a business woman that would not kill either. Better save lives whole heartedly than looking for leisure at work. Anyway just an observation! ! hypocrisy is apparently what takes you to another country it seems!!

Hey hey hey Narayana Sahu. I hope you felt good leaving that comment behind. Because, I feel really good having a break from work. You should try it. Also, just because I called out on instances where jugaad happens doesn’t mean the whole country works that way. Stop generalising my comments to a 1.38 Billion population. I don’t need to justify about not wanting a family the same way I don’t ask strangers why they don’t want kids or want kids? Heard of manners, may be? Becoming a doctor = never desiring a break? Nice one. 😂 Business woman? Well, because you gave me so much of unsolicited advice here’s one from me. Don’t be so salty! Cheers.

Firstly commenting on your 3rd point. If a person is a doctor or becoming a doctor they should not be allowed to demand any leaves? Being a doctor is one of the most hardworking profession in the world. And if after doing that job a person demands or even expects leaves they shouldn't have been a doctor. Wow! Kudos! Shame on you. And while she is clearly stating her reasons to move to a certain country , i believe you shouldn't be taking things so personally. Instead of being thankful to her for being so helpful towards people who are struggling with things, people like you try to bring everyone down! People like you who are nothing but internet bullies are the reason some people are moving to another country. To atleast get some positivity.! Cheers to you mam for being such an inspiration! Respect! Please dont let such bullies get to you. You are doing a great job!
