I'm grateful for the compliment!! I'm happy you found it very helpful.
I seriously was on the verge of tears because the pattern I bought turned out to be too small for me by two sizes. You've empowered me to make the pattern work for my body instead of trying to make my body work for the pattern. I looked everywhere after realizing the pattern was too small and couldn't find it in my size. It's like Simplicity thinks plus size women don't deserve cute costumes. I can't wait to get to the store tomorrow to pick up the few supplies I need to make this work for me.

Bless you for these clear instructions. I have a very large little girl (she wears the same shoe size as me and she's seven) who still has her little child (very round) belly but she is also very tall with broad shoulders and nothing from the store seems to fit her right. I cannot put her into stuff designed for much older kids as it is not appropriate for her age and she still wants little girl clothes despite her size. I used to sew a lot but haven't done much in at least fifteen years. I couldn't remember how to adjust sizing.

Great tutorial! I refer back to this lesson constantly. Thank you.
THANK YOU for your wonderful, clear explanations! You are a great teacher!
lol I did not realize a year ago I left a comment lol lol well one thing is for sure you know I really meant it lol Be Blessed once again. I was looking at these type of videos because I purchased a simplicity pattern and their size verses the correlated inches are not normal. ex. a woman that wears a size 28w is not typically a 44 inch waist. unless all your weight is I suppose below the waist line i.e. hip area and down. So, after spending 20.00 for a pattern I decided to refresh my memory so when I open the pattern if it doesn't fit I am going to change it instead of buying another size. Sorry this was so lengthy, but maybe it will help someone else to know. Again ty for your skill and time. Sonya

And again, you are very welcome!! Thanks for taking the time to comment again, this all is no problem. Keeps me on my toes. Much appreciated Sonya. As for the simplicity, I really don't know these sizing considerations. It seems most patterns, even mine, the measurements adjust with the design.
This is great thank you! I'm using an old pattern that has had the larger sizes trimmed off and I need to grade it up to one of the larger sizes again. One question, I have a piece where the difference between size 7 and 8 is 3/8' and between 8 and 10 is 6/8'. I'm increasing 2 sizes. how much do I need to increase for each size increment?
@SewToFit
7 жыл бұрын
00000midori00000 do one size at a time. From 6-8 use the 3/8" and then for the 8-10 use the 6/8". That's a 1" grade and then a 1.5" grade. Read my blog post- www.sewtofit.com/2011/07/making-grade-matter-of-size.html?m=0
