This is like a footnote to the sort of immense developmental strides that a tiny country like Rwanda is currently making. Obasanjo left $60 billion in Nigeria's reserve account in 2007 and we are calling these municipal efforts "progress"?

Old news Nigeria has been improving its power sector every year.
Very awesome projects, but who is going to benefit from it? The real critical infrastructure which is the human beings that are supposed to make the system work are not getting an ounce of respect. The video annotator keeps saying that Nigerians are proud and inspired by the projects. I wonder which Nigerians those are. Definitely not the ones earning 30,000 Naira or round about US$70.00 per month. And these constitute more than 75% of the population. Average cost of living for an individual in Lagos is estimated to be about 550000 naira or US$1200 per month which should make the average minimum wage to be at least 750,000 Naira. Without a strong purchasing power, progressive economic wages and a well meaning social program(not construction of beggar villages), ordinary Nigerians and even most of the highly educated Nigerians are not going to even see any of these infrastructure in their lifetime, let alone use it. So, is Nigeria being prepped for another foreign colonization? Many Nigerians are being forced out of the country to face exorbitant cost of living abroad, while new buildings are going up and foreign interests are possibly gulping them up at ridiculous prices. Those who forget their history are abound to make the same mistakes. Kings and other powerful people sold Nigerians into slavery a long time ago. Looks like history is about to repeat itself.

As a fellow compatriot, I read your clear and persuasive submissions with great sadness primarily because I observe the truth of your criticisms on the streets and villages of Nigeria everyday. Until human resources are placed at the heart of Nigeria's development plans and execution, 100 years today will still find Nigeria a desperately poor, diseased, ignorant and backward society. If you fail to educate the population, you will fail to escape poverty and degradation.

@@iotahutchinson1482 Nigeria is the largest economy in Nigeria, but our GDP/ capita is still behind.a lot of countries in Nigeria. I think it might not be actually accurate, because I suspect the bulk of economic activities in Nigeria, despite government effort, are still offline. However, when a country has a large economy with a small GDP/ capita, it means the wealth is not trickling down. Nigeria is wealth, and truly independent when compared to most of the subsahran economies, south Africa included, because we own most of our stuff, and we can produce the personelle to run our stuff.
Everything is talking about economic growth, business opportunities, and jobs. All is very nice, however what about those that still use the rivers to fish. How about those communities with poor housing, those not able to afford hospitals, and care. You can't have pride if you forget about those in need of help. But it's good to see some progress in Nigeria

@Last Laugh - GLAD to hear of these wonderful projects- I hope the average Nigerian will benefit from them . As regards " enslaved" African Americans approximately 8 million live on or below the poverty line- roughly below $35000 us dollars( these people have access to Medicaid- a type of health insurance, food Stamps and housing ) as opposed to about 88 million living in poverty in Nigeria( you might want to read one of the prior statements by Mr. Atewodbade ) Higher earning AA make between 48000 & 50000 or higher- - so my question to you is What services are the poor offered in Nigeria? Also as a side note - during the height of the Pandemic the general American population - black and white received $2400 - 2 $ 1200 checks- and other services- such as non- eviction protection and an increase in social services-did the Nigerian government have any similar aid to it's people. I notice your students come here and attend our HISTORICALLY BLACK COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES- ALL ON OUR ENSLAVED DIME opportunities opened up by "Enslaved" African Americans BTW The first president of Nigeria Nnamdi Azikiwe attended Lincoln University and Howard University-
Why not construct roads that leads to Lagos and Abuja from the east
the state’s way get the oil no development for there 😢
Take that nightmare up fast before you get stuck with it. Unbelievably horrifically terrible because it was placed on such beauty.
With all these beautiful constructions, we need to ask? why many poor young people? why impossible to finish conflicts, tribalism, Boko Haram etc? My bros and sisters, Congrats ha!
This is a misleading video because Nigeria is physically depressing given its condition. No Nigeria city or town has water and wastewater systems. Infrastructure in Nigeria is gravely absent
Nigerians how are you guys naming a building to honor a Germany person, have you guys ever seen anything named to honor Africans in the west?????
Thanks for this documentary. But I have to say that for those that don't live in Nigeria, they consider this impressive. The Kaduna/Abuja expressway is not used due to armed robbers, kidnappers and militants operating on that route. I know because I have been caught up in a few dramas on that road. All these projects listed here are all dead on arrival. The Azura-Edo ower plant lacks gas. Like most power stations in the country and unable to be functional. The red and blue rail metro rail project does not have the electricity stations to power the trains. So they are just there. It is all a scam in my personal view. The longer it takes for all these projects to come to fruitution, the more expensive they will be.
