The detail Nintendo put in this game. Mario looking up when Hooktail is passing by the enemies giving their angry face before battling, Mario looking in the sky at Glitzville from far away. Things that in GC didn’t have. Just loving it ❤

One of the best subtle changes they made is making different sound effects for the text depending on who is talking. I feel like it makes the characters really stand out more. Kind of reminds me of undertale

The music for the glitzpit battles is *chefs kiss* they did a great job sprucing up the sound track.

The new fast travel room looks great! I'm glad it's accessible from central Rougeport.

12:19 86 badges? The original had 85, so the only new one is the gamecube sounds one? That's kinda sad, but i couldnt have asked for a better badge than the gamecube sounds badge! So glad we are actually getting that, just really hope we can get it from the start of the game or during chapter 1 at worst

It seems to remove 1/3 instead of 1/2. Not a huge dropoff, but it doesnt look like much since mario doesnt have much max hp in the clip

Seems to be 1/3 instead of 1/2 Which is good, because the slot machine randomly screwing you over sucked lol Especially if you used the double pain badge. Poison Shroom slots would just be instant death.

I’m kinda disappointed that the characters don’t appear behind Mario in the title screen like the original, because to me, that’s what makes it charming and nostalgic, but after hearing that each partner you recruit, they’ll appear at the title screen, which I find pretty fitting, so I guess it’s a fair trade off

I noticed a brand new badge for only 1 coin and 0 badge points. It looks like the classic GameCube. I may play that music during my 2nd play-through to bring back the memories.

I like how this looks - a blend of the Old and New. You can tell from a look that everything's made of paper and cardboard and such, but it doesn't get all in-your-face about that fact like the newer games do - The Paper is a stylistic choice, rather than a crucial element that the whole game revolves around.

I actually kinda love the look of boggly woods here, it looks like one of those neon coloring pages

Badge list showing /86 confirms the Nostalgia badge is the only new badge added

I like the remixed music, but I think they go too hard. Like rogue ports theme should not make you wanna dance. lol

@@chrisconroy6445it seems that they redid the localization as more of the dialogue is being changed from the og English version. Not to spoil, but two other changes I’ve noticed so far is: Hooktails weakness is now a frog sound effect instead of a cricket, and she actually explains why she’s weak to it. (She got really bad food poisoning from a frog) Bedlam refers to her and her sisters as “the three shadow” instead of “the shadow sirens” and while we don’t see much of that dialogue, she seems to be going out of her way to not mention that they’re sisters. (Maybe they’re bringing implications of Vivian being trans into this remake?) Oh, also, the game in general seems closer to the Japanese version as things like the logo and TECs led aren’t localized like they were in the og localizations

Honestly, the gameplay looks really good. I can't wait to play It. It looks actually really good. I mean, the original was really good. A little bit, but this one is way interesting. Oh man. People get mad at the artstyle change because it is "too papery" like the modern games, they just want an excuse to hate on the smallest changes to what they perceive as a fault from the later entires. Practically, I think they need to clear some legal hurdle just to reference their own property, if they put him there in the trailer and some how they couldn't clear it, people are still going to be mad.

Honestly it's probably because the bad result was unnecessarily punishing for something that has so much rng involved. Like using double pain and getting the poison shroom slots literally just killed you. I don't really care either way, since the slots were by and far away the biggest issue with TTYD's combat.

Interesting can't wait to see what else changed. Also thanks europe for ruining slot machines for everyone

Don't think I like the change to the Glitzville soundtrack. Otherwise love the changes!
