They implied that "all you need is 15 minutes away, as if they know what you need," if you read between the lines. This sentence can be changed to with. If it's not 15 minutes, you no longer need it because WE decided that you will only be able to access a certain number of alternatives and nothing else. Don't forget that all of your rights will be subject to limitations. The term "15 min." denotes a maximum time limit of 15 minutes during which you must remain inside the doors. You would only be permitted to drive your automobile 25 times a year and would require a permission if you wanted to travel beyond the city.

Being 15 minutes away from something is not the same as being forced to only move in a 15 minute radius. You are still a free rational agent and can decide to do whatever the fuck you want. This notion of top down control is completely bullshit and holds no weight when you actually look up 15 minute cities that exist currently.

a 15 min ctiy means, you are within a district, that district will provide you limited options and resources, based on your needs which is decided by the goverment, your inquires go through your council, everything else you require is a permit that only the council can provide. Permits are limted. Rules and obligations are determined by the goverment. Your friends and families could be in a different district. You will not be able to visit them when you like, that is for the council to decide with a permit. You will not just be able to jump in your car and drive, because the distict is under surveillance and you would of registered your vehicle to them. You will be fined anytime you go beyong 15 mins as well etc... go read their rules and notice it also says in the future they will change it and reduce your right but they say " we don't remove rights we give them".

@@Schnoz42069 I realize not everyone has the affordability or availability to have a piece of land in the country and raise their own food. I live in a semi rural part of my country and I love my freedom. Freedom to own protection from a tyrannical government. In our constitution we have the “right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” we also have the right to own a gun. If someone chooses to live in a confined city, it’s only a matter of time before the govt of that city enforces curfews, and restraints on its citizens to where they will need papers and have to pass through check points to go see relatives or friends outside of that boundary. If another outbreak happens it will only be a concentration camp. I don’t know about you but I love freedom! But in this day and time none of us are really truly free unless we have God as our savior. “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭10‬:‭28‬ ‭

@@JamieCamile495 there is no confinement in a 15 minute city. The whole point of a 15 minute city is that you’ll have access to groceries, school, doctors office, a place to work, and a place to shop, or at the very least access to public transport to take you to all of those places in a 15 minute walk or less from your house. For example most Americans live in places called food deserts where they don’t have easy access to food. They need to walk an hour or more to get groceries or to get to public transport to take them to a grocery store. 15 minute cities would make life so much easier and less stressful for so many people.

Sounds good on the surface. A little research shows 15 minute cities in Britton set up by the WEF that you will be taxed for leaving that 15 minute. You may leave the area 100 times a year that’s less than 2 times a week. So if you work outside that area say 5 times a week you pay taxes just to work.

No, they won’t penalize you for leaving your district, and no, it is not a form of control. It’s a matter of convenience and moving away from being dependent on cars. Yep. If you do anything outside your zone there will probably be a fee/policy/law associated with it.

Oh absolutely, nothing brings me more joy than hopping in my car and driving for 10 minutes just to grab a single bag of milk. Who needs the convenience of having shops and services within walking or biking distance, when you can spend your time sitting in traffic and burning through gas?

I'm in the Toronto area, I'm also very troubled by this. It will be implement slowly at first and who knows how far it'll be taken. Hopefully, there will be some push-back, but most everyone isn't even aware of it.

except your 100 percent wrong because Edmonton has not implied nor has said they were going to add paying tolls. not saying your wrong that there are 15 min cites that have that but not Edmonton (so far at least lol)

So that means: - those who commute > 15 minutes to work may lose their job if their type of work cannot be done remote. - if where you live have amenities - hospitals, groceries etc > 15 minutes away then you are screwed. - Same for businesses a lot of them will close if customers/suppliers/employees etc are > 15 minutes away. How is that a good thing? There has to be a much better way than this. Also that means everyone can only walk or take bicycle or bus.. nobody drives. So I can't even go to the national parks/movies etc.. if I want to. This sounds like a cage to me.

except for the fact that not once in Edmonton's plan did it state you were restricted to that 15 minute area nor has that been applied so far, kinda confused on why everyone thinks its like that one UK city (oxford I think it was) which its not.
