15 Inventions Created By Black Americans

There’s a lot of things we use on a day-to-day basis. But did you know that a majority of these things, like an ice cream scooper or a modern toilet, were invented by Black Americans? It’s these small things we take for granted which is why we compiled a list of the top 15 Black innovators and their inventions to sum up Black History Month.

    This is a prime example of why the left-leaning ignoramuses are equivalent to a Nazi. Hitler may have sounded smart, but he was far from it. These leftist scum already doctored history with the lie that Columbus "discovered" America when the country is literally named after an Italian named Amerigo Vespucci, who found the country nearly a decade before the tale of Columbus. This Nazi takeover through drip-fed history changes and/or omissions has been going on since 1851 and will continue unless WE, THE PEOPLE, take this country back and find these lunatics a cattle bolt to play with or a traffic cone to fetch on a busy highway.

    The weird thing is that the presenter could easily have pointed to almost all of these as instances where black men improved the overall functioning of society and contributed to American industrial progress. Instead he resorts to bogus claims of black inventions which not only put black men on a false pedestal but act to tear down white men. He could use these examples to acknowledge the ability of any person in America to contribute to society and a common culture, if they are so motivated, and to build up and unify the entire nation. This is why the left is always so miserable. They live with perfect opportunities to unite and build common happiness but toss them aside in favor of division and hatred.

A smart person, who really wants honest equality, would just make a video about great inventors, genious talents before the year 2000, 1900, 1800 ... etc. That video wouldn't give a shit about color (or between the two existing GENDERS) who is smarter or stronger or faster... no, it would just recognise real talent! But the mainstreem media doesn't need a video that can bring people together! What it needs is the opposite! :(

    A scotsman demonstrates refrigeration is possible... an American furthers this... then an English man, an Aussie Scotsman, a Frenchman, and finally an American (french descent); then capitalised on the previous findings to produce a commercial refrigerator. Now, as a scotsman, to claim that invention as Scottish would be ridiculously obnoxious and reek of insecurity. I know we have plenty of inventors and inventions which made a huge impact, so, I've no need to claim some insignificant & minor improvement means the Scotsman should be attributed and thanked for e.g. "all modern communications" But here, AG Bell (inventor of the telephone) goes unmentioned, but because a woman who was black helped (in a team effort) to develop touch tone telephones, it is she whom should be thanked for "all modern communications"... Insecure, desperately grasping, petty...

What renders it all a lie is just look up early American clockmakers. They were making clocks in America long before Banneker was born. Just look in an encyclopedia. Now don't you seem foolish for acting like you knew something? Pathetic... www.encyclopedia.com/science-and-technology/technology/technology-terms-and-concepts/clock "The first clockmaker of record in America was Thomas Nash, an early settler of New Haven in 1638. Throughout the seventeenth century, eight-day striking clocks with brass movements, similar to those made in England, were produced by craft methods in several towns and villages in Connecticut. The wooden clock was not made in America until the eighteenth century, although it was known to exist in Europe in the seventeenth century, probably originating in Germany or Holland. By 1745 Benjamin Cheney of East Hartford was producing wooden clocks, and there is some evidence that these clocks were being made as early as 1715 near New Haven. Cheney was not the only maker of wooden clocks during the second half of the eighteenth century, but he was the most successful. Benjamin Willard, founder of the Willard Clock dynasty of Massachusetts, was apprenticed to Cheney."

I agree on this one. The lies are being told, there's a lot of manipulation been going on. Black people did make significant contributions to society! I don't know a lot about black or white inventions to tell you the truth. I watch a lot of black comedy, (Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle) - that is a contribution in my opinion. I've been listening to rap music since I was 16, now I'm 34. White rappers ain't shit compared to blacks. Except to Em, I gotta give him that though I'm not a big fan. The sports? Well, that's a no brainer. White people and black people are different? Yes. Both are inventors? Yes. All lives matter my brother. @@JohnDoe-ie4zr I totally agree that we live in the world of clickbait and witless twits. Not that many people care to have a real conversation. And what's interesting is that this was not the case even 10 years ago. In a very short period of time the world drastically changed and people's thinking has been rewired. I personally stay away from facebook, twitter, instagram, to me that's all garbage. Even my cell phone, I like it, it really helps me with my job, but whenever I take the sub, I take a book with me. To tell you the truth - I don't like the cell phones that are being offered since they have no actual buttons. I feel that am holding a piece of glass in my hand and when I press a "key" I don't get any feedback. Remember those Nokia phones we once had? That's what I enjoy! Your taste in music is great, I like the variety. I grew up listening to rock and heavy metal, but later on I switched to rap and many other genres. The kind of rap that I like is not commercial, meaning that there is very little swearing, money talk and stuff like that. Rap, like any other music genre is supposed to uplift people's spirit. It is sad that most of the modern artists only care about the paycheck. There are no rebels or MCs, just imitators and commercial projects. Money is important, but selling out your soul as an artist is something I would never do. Oh, you're so spot on about the classical music and black men/women willing to be involved in it! I agree - following the path of your own choosing is key here. As far as white liberals go, well, I am not a big fan at all. They want people to clash. Divide and conquer I guess? That last paragraph you wrote was a pure pleasure to read. Your theory, John, is not a theory at all and you we both know it. And I am sure many others feel that way too, but we're always in a rush, there's simply no time to sit down and get the facts straight. It's not an easy task to get to the bottom of the matter and once you've done it, who really cares? I've figured out that I do that for myself, most people won't understand since it takes effort and patience to admit that what you think you know is not quite accurate. People don't like that, they assume you're trying to be smarter than them. Not all people, but most people. Ever since I was a youngster, I always felt thankful when my friend or an acquaintance would give me advice. And there weren't too many people like that in my life. When I got older, I would myself give advice in the areas where I felt I was competent. My thinking was "I am doing a great thing, I really want to help that person!". What I've learned is that I had to learn to stop giving advice to people who don't ask for It. To this day it feels weird, but I try to live by this rule. But I like to ask for advice and everytime I learn something new, I am very grateful. The Kodak example you brought up is quite interesting. The fact that they asked for a link to site is ridiculous! Like you said, most of them had been cut and paste over and over again. The internet has its good and bad sides. Eroding the base of human knowledge is definitely on the negative side. Ah...there's very little that we can do. Have you ever thought about starting your own youtube channel? I feel that you can do the world a lot of good. Share what you know, shed the light on the subjects that you care about. I guarantee that there are people who are interested in the truth. What do you think? And yes, I enjoyed what you called a rant. You took you time, you're honest, and I really appreciate that!

    Dude. DUDE. How does this help? The ones I looked up, your take is largely exaggerated or just completely disproven. Some of them are based on the fact that the men mentioned applied for patents on improvements to existing tech. Like MANY other people did. Whether or not their particular improvements were ever actually implemented is a different, debatable matter. But to make blanket statements that these men "invented" the refrigerator, traffic light, etc...that's just not true, man. (And to build up Latimer while calling Edison a hack, that's just pathetic. Like many other men whose names you probably don't know, Latimer was employed by Edison and made CONTRIBUTIONS to the lightbulb. But it is because of Edison's genius, drive, and ingenuity that we HAVE those inventions.) The Shirley Ann Jackson one is particularly embarrassing. She IS a smart, accomplished woman, who probably dealt with a lot of racism early on. What she ACTUALLY accomplished should be inspiring enough. But she is now a woman whose legacy will be forever tarnished by the prevalence of these wild, easily disproven claims. Claims she herself has NEVER made. The problem of the lingering falsehoods is even mentioned on her Wiki page. All of the specific inventions you attributed to her predate her work at Bell Labs, where she did the bulk of her research. She probably did come up with some useful theories. But she invented, nor contributed to the invention of, NONE of the things you listed. SHE doesn't even claim she did. "The Mother of Modern Telecommunications." Dude, get a grip. People, in general, regardless of race, need to stop being so obsessed with what their ancestors did or didn't do. Go from here. Make your own mark. But wild, inaccurate claims help no one.

    Swallow your white "pride" and let's deal with historical facts, especially in RACIST AMERICA. You need to learn some real history. Not the white washed crap you think is fact, just because other white people said it was. There are a ton of books out there proving this all to be true. Do you really expect black oppressors (white people) to tell the truth when they want to steal something and keep it a hidden fact, that a black man/woman invented something that changed the world. Do you even know that at one point it was ILLEGAL for black inventors to even put in for patents. The black inventors had to sell their world changing inventions for pennies on the dollar, to racist ass "WHITE MEN", who filed the patent and called it their own and got filthy RICH off of a black persons innovative creations. It's total BULLSHIT, about what blacks went through, due to white racist people. A never ending story in racist America. Just the most evil wicked shit in this world. It's fucked up. You've been lied to and you fell for it. It's just like the automobile. It was NOT invented by Ford, it was a mass collaboration of efforts from many people across the globe, over a long period of time for developing many parts, mainly black people and people of color that invented those parts for other things and then applied to the invention of the automobile. Ford in his own book never said that he invented the car. He said that what he did do, was to efficiently automate his company. He was the first to mass produce cars more efficiently to make them cheaper for the public to buy. Guess who Ford hired to develop the automation of his car manufacturing company. He called upon a black man named George Washington Carver to not only show him how to automate it efficiently but also George W. Carver was the reason why the automobile industry flourished because of his plant products that helped to make parts for cars less expensive. George Washington Carvers innovative science products from plants produced over 300 products. A Black man did that and hardly got credit for it and isn't widely known for it. But FORD is and got filthy rich off of what Carver did for him. That's fucked up! 300 products, and a lot of them in cars today, yet, Carver pretty much died poor in comparison. That's FUCKED UP!. A black man did that. There are literally 1000's of inventions that African American people invented that changed the world and most people don't even know it, simply because of evil White people who stole their inventions and/or took credit for it and got filthy RICH from black peoples innovations. It's truly FUCKED UP. That's why there is always going to be a huge divide in America as we find out more and more about who really did what. The truth can no longer be hidden. White people just don't have the capacity to swallow their pride about this kind of historical fuck up and admit to it, and will never be able to live it down, because of their pride. In your mind, even though you whites benefited from black inventions, to this very day, you have the nerve to imply that we should just say "Lets move on" and forget that it was due to skin color that many of these black inventors got ripped off and died poor. Fuck that. You gotta pay one day, one way or the other.

    This video is full of wrong informations: #1: Richard Spykes never invented the automatic gear shift.He made some modifications to the already existing mechanism. #2: Benjamin Banneker never invented a clock or build "America's first clock". He build one of the first pocket watches using only American materials. He used wood for his one. The clock already existed, the pocket watch already existed, he just used a different material. He even had a pocket watch and just copied that watch. #3: Alexander Miles also never invented that automatic door. He made an improvement to the patent of an automatic door that was patented almost 20 years earlier. Also I couldn't find any informations on if his version was ever used. I can only find older examples of another improvement to that patent that was actually build, because Miles' version had some problems. #4: Lewis Latimer also never invented the light bulb or the technique behind it. He just made minor improvements. Everything was already planned and his boss had the idea to form the wire like an "M", but it was hard to hold that into place. Another person found out, how they could do it and Latimer had an idea on how to build those wires. #5: I couldn't find exact details, but the first folding chair that was ever found was in Denmark in the 14th century B.C. That was nearly 3500 years ago. So, again, he most likely just improved the folding chair. #6: This seems to be true. He was the first person who invented an ice-cream scoop with a build in scraper. We don't use that kind of scoop anymore, but someone has made an improvement on his invention. But yes, this was his idea. #7: I couldn't udnerstand the name, but the modern lock. the one that we are still using today was inventen by Linus Yale Jr. in 1848. He was a pretty white guy. And the lock that came before that was inventen by Abraham O. I don't know anything about him, but yeah... a white guy invented the modern lock. I even read through "The History of locks" and there is not a single mentioning of a name that sounds like the name that you have used. And that you have mentioned those "4000 years" is interesting, because the oldest lock that they have found was actually 4000 years old, but a lot has changed in that time. #8: Again, he improved an existing version of the refrigerator. It already existed! (Yes, you have mentioned that he improved it, but you sounded like, he made a big change, he didn't) And I can guarantee you, that between his improvement and today, a lot of people have improved the refrigerator over and over. The first person that invented an artificial cooling refrigerator (one that doesn't need ice) was William Cullen in 1755, a white guy. #9: Nonono, that just isn't true. This had nothing to do with a toilet. Toilets weren't invented at that time. His patent is a bit weird but it seems like, he made an improvement to the closet that was standing next to the hole that you defecate in. It is really confusing. #10: The Mob existed before. He made two improvements: First, you could now unscrew the head of the mob from the base and second, you could now pull a lever that presses the water out of the mob head. I mean... nice, but still, people had mobs before. And I have never ever seen a mob that you can unscrew from the handle (I only know those that can fold into the mob, it is hard to explain) and I don't know any mob that has a lever to press water out of it... so what? #11: Well, to be honest, I have read through the whole History of pencil sharpeners and couldn't find this name anywhere. But there was a part about portable pencil sharpeners that didn't included the person who invented them. So yeah, maybe he was black, I give you the benefit of the doubt. #12: The oldest recipe for potato chips was found in England in 1817 and George Crum was born in 1822. He made the potato chips well known in his area, but still, the recipe already existed. #13: I think, you are right. It seems like he invented the refrigeration units for food trucks and liked the idea and then changed it for home-use. And he invented the temperatur control unit. And his drawing of the units look alot like the things that you can see on the outside of buildings in the USA, so bravo, I guess, you are right. #14: The traffic light already existed. He just came up with the idea to add a third warning light. He just added the yellow light. He hasn't invented the traffic light. but a guy named William had a version with a yellow warning light that predated Morgan by three years, but he just didn't get the patent. So Morgan wasn't even the first person who wanted to introduce the yellow light. #15: I haven't looked into every single of her inventions, but you are basically saying: "She invented the @-sign. And we use that to write E-Mails. So she invented E-mails." Yes, she invented some things and improved a lot of things, but she has not invented a single of the things that you have listed. You are not the inventor of something when you have made improvements to a device that was later used to build that something. Conclusion: Stop talking about skincolor. Seriosly. I have just spend over an hour reading patents to debunk nearly every single of your points. What would happen if I made one of those videos about White people? Because many of the things you have named, already existed before, but what about Windows OS? Invented by white people and not "a white person improved one part that was later used by that black person to code Windows OS", I really mean invented. But what would that do? I would get a lot of hate, I would be caleld a racist, without saying anything racist at all. the only real invention by a black person on your list was the ice cream scoop. The inventions by white people on my lsit would be airplanes, radio, telescopes, eyeglasses and contact lenses, over 95% of all life saving drugs, over 95% of all medical equipment and so on. The thing is, there are many important White, Black, Yellow, Red and whatever brains who lived and still live on this planet. But lying and changing stuff around, will not change a thing. It will just make people with a brain angry. "Okay so BuzzFeed, MTV and that guy need to lie and tell us any good inventions by black people. This means black people haven't invented anything." do you want this mindset? Then stop lying. And I bet, my comment will get deleted. But maybe it won't and people can argue with me if they disagree. Just keep in mind, that my bottom line is: I don't care about the skin colour of the guy who invented the modern lock. You are the one who thinks that skincolor is important. I am just debunking what you have said, because I am against lies and false informations.

  • @ansems3309

    @ansems3309

    @Exotic Flower Why do you think, my claims are false? I have corrected false claims. For many of his claims, I could even see the patent that those black people got. And yes, they have done something important or good, but not what he has said in his video. I gave the people that he mentioned credit for what they have done, because yes, it is good that Lewis Latimer had the idea on how to improve the building of M-shaped wires for lightbulbs, that is a great thing that he has done! But he hasn't invented the electric lightbulb. Those are lies! My professor told us to "always ask for the BEST argument that the other person has. And always assume that the arguments that the other side brings, are the BEST they have to offer." so what will this video do? There is a person who wants to tell you, about important things that black people have invented, but he is lying in 90% of the times, so that means that he has to lie to name us even 15 important black inventors. Why has he done that? That just brings a bad stigma to black inventors. He could have searched for real black inventors or explain to us, what the people in that video really invented. I really don't care, in the nicest way possible, about any person's skin color, but if you lie into 25.000 people's faces, I will call it out. This just creates more distance between different skin colors. Many of his points are like this "This white man invented and came up with the idea of Obamacare" when in reality, it was a group of people who talked about it including, women and men of all color and this white man came up with the name "Obamacare". My point would be stupid and many people would call me out, because I am trying to split black and white people. Just stop lying, tell me about interesting black inventors and tell me, what they have really done. If I would work for Samsung and came up with a more efficient way to get the screens on top of the phone by using a new type of glue, I wanna be remembered as the guy who did this and not as the guy who invented phones and I really hope, nobody will ever say about me "Without this guy, we wouldn't have smartphones today". I hate lies.

    My assumption is that the issue of the inventor of the refrigerator is a bit more controversial. I found the following: In 1834, "American inventor Jacob Perkins, living in London at the time, built the world’s first working vapor-compression refrigeration system, using ether in a closed cycle. His prototype system worked and was the first step to modern refrigerators, but it didn’t succeed commercially." (In this sense, it was an invention, but not an innovation). In 1876, "German engineering professor Carl von Linde patented the process of liquefying gas that has become part of basic refrigeration technology. His findings led to his invention of the first reliable and efficient compressed-ammonia refrigerator." Source: www.materials.sandvik/en/campaigns/fridge-of-the-future/the-history-of-the-refrigerator/ Thomas Elkins? In 1879, "he improved the refrigerating apparatus, intended to prevent decay of food or human corpses." (U.S. Patent 221,222, filed July 15, 1879, and issued November 4, 1879). So, who invented the refrigerator?

    @@AJ-pc5ln Racist? How dare you call me racist? You don't know me. Why is it everytime a White American says anything here comes a racist Black American all up in the comments? You know what's pathetic? The fact that you didn't know that almost everything in this video is false and the fact that you think disagreeing with Black people is racist! Please stop with the race talk all the time. It's really getting old and it's a crutch.

    How u screw this up. 90% were improvements and already invented item or an entirely different way to build something already invented. U screwed urself on the first inventor by not spelling his last name correctly. The ice cream scoop, u got one. But u miss the main invention by Frederick Jones about trucks with portable ac for a thermostat that he didn't invent. I see a news anchor for CNN in this guy's future.
