Still hungry? Check out our Seoul Food Guide for more must-eats in South Korea: bit.ly/320pDIG
Once again, The Travel Intern presents another FOODIES GOODIES video! This time, our food guide savours 15 South Korean dishes that are worth travelling for. Guaranteed food for the Seoul (See what we did there :D)
------------------------------------------------------
1) BIBIMBAP
00:12 - Gogung Myeongdong
A South Korean classic: A bowl of fluffy white rice topped with sautéed and seasoned vegetables, kimchi, chilli pepper paste, soy sauce, and/or fermented soybean paste. Definitely an explosion of flavour - stir and mix well before eating!
2) KALGUKSU
00:23 - Myeongdong Kyoja
Handmade, knife-cut wheat flour noodle soup! This famous restaurant has been awarded the Michelin Guide for three consecutive years. Even though the noodles looks simple, there’s something about the chewy noodles and light, tasty broth that really hits home.
3) SEAFOOD STEW
00:27 - Busanjib
This bubbling hot, hearty stew is made with extra soft tofu (sundubu or soondubu), seafood, and just the right amount of spice! And, IT'S HALAL. (Good news to all the Muslim folk out there!)
4) ARMY STEW
00:39 - Nolboo Budae Jjigae
A world-famous hotpot mix of kimchi, ramen, spicy sausage, spam, cheese, dumplings and rice cakes. The only kind of army we'd all prefer. Army stew is practically a staple in Korean food culture, and super addictive especially when it comes in Nolboo’s buffet-style concept. Like hello, it's a BUFFET!
5) BINGSU
00:51 - Sulbing
The perfect Korean dessert: A delicious mountain of shaved milk ice topped with goodies ranging from condensed milk, ice cream, brownies, fruits, and oreo - and we’re all for it. YUMMMM!
6) LEMON TART
01:03 - Mollis
Tuck into some mouthwatering lemon tarts, specially handmade by a renowned pastry chef!
7) ASSORTED MANDU (Korean dumplings)
01:12 - Changhwadang
A popular spot that serves a variety of different mandu flavours like stir-fried, golden brown kimchi, prawn, beef, capsicum, pork, and even truffle. Bring an empty stomach and try them all!
8) SOUFFLE PANCAKES
01:19 - Dongbaek Bakery
Indulge in cloud-like souffle pancakes in this quiet vintage-looking cafe! Just looking at the soft, fluffy goodness makes our mouths water 🤤
9) SMOKED DUCK
01:30 - Byeolnan Ori
This restaurant specialises in duck dishes. Their tender duck meat is coupled with a secret, must-try sauce that leaves you wanting more!
10) KOREAN BARBEQUE (BBQ)
01:45 - Old House Charcoal Meat
Korean BBQ is best tried when in... You guessed it... KOREA! Also, if you don’t eat KBBQ when in Korea, did you really go at all? 🤔
11) VEGETARIAN BBQ
01:57 - Osehgehyang
Your perception of vegan food will change once you try the food here. We kid you not, the soy protein cutlet tasted exactly like pork! 🤯
12) GINSENG CHICKEN
02:09 - Tosokchon Samgyetang
A Seoul food guide classic. Their ginseng chicken is out of this world. Even if you’re not into ginseng, this dish will change your mind. Don't believe us? You just have to try it for yourself.
13) CHEESE DAKGALBI (spicy, stir-fried chicken)
02:18 - Hong Chun Cheon Dakgalbi
How do you make something that's already great better? YOU ADD A TON OF CHEESE ON IT!
14) EGG TOAST
02:30 - Egg Drop
The worthy rival to the popular toast brand Isaac's Toast.
15) KIMCHI STEW
02:39 - Omori Jjigae
A crowd favourite and a must-eat staple here in Korea. You can't go wrong with this!

Lemon tart, Souffle pancakes, Smoked duck, Vegetariab BBQ, Egg toast are not Korean food. Bulgogi (not called korean BBQ, Bulgogi is grilled slices of beef with soy souce), Seolleongtang (very old traditional Korean soup with beef bones and beef) are missing.

Trust me, only a couple of these (Nolboo and Egg Drop) are "must eat" restaurants. The rest are mediocre or tourist traps that overcharge. These ppl are just tourists who don't know the best places like the locals do.
