I was never able to do the Celebi event where you time-travel and face Giovanni, but I love that it both confirmed the theory that Silver was Giovanni’s son AND explained why he never answered Team Rocket’s call from the Radio Tower.

But silver wants to take down team rocket ..he says it multiple times in game.... is there a back story as to why he wants to ruin his dad's company ? An why would he steal Pokemon from professor elm when he could just steal his dad's lol I get it might be cannon but they didn't think any of it thro that's for sure

The go-go rocket grunt isnt the only thing that gives us some information about the timeline. In N's castle theres a plasma grunt that says that the Galactic team, the Rocket team, the Aqua and the Magma team were defeated because they attracted too much attention. And that means that the 5th gen indeed happened after the first 4 gens.

Here’s something Toby didn’t mention about the Beserk Gene. I’d never heard of the Beserk Gene before watching this video, but I had encountered that guy standing near it with the Item Finder that goes off when you talk to him. I had a hunch, so I picked up my copy of Crystal and retrieved the item. Sure enough, when I talked to that guy again, his Item Finder didn’t go off. Game Freak, you sneaky devil! I’d always just assumed that it was alluding to items hidden in the cave (which in retrospect, doesn’t make sense because the cave is not accessible, but you can chalk that up to playground rumors and me not remembering that it was inaccessible), but you were trying to tell us that there was a hidden item there all along.

I went mad when I saw the bye-bye-a-go-go Rocket Grunt in Unova, and went to write pages and pages of stuff on the Pokémon timeline 😅

By the way Hall of Origin Arceus wasn’t released. It was the event Arceus from ToysRUs. Though you can repeat the event if you hack the HoO Arceus. There’s a glitch in Gold and Silver where the title screen legends will be colored in. I just hacked old saves to play with Cute Charm and the shinies are just broken lol they’re everywhere. There’s a scrapped Entei event in the gen 2 games too. It had to do with a lost girl...wonder if it inspired the Sevii Islands thing. I would love “fly high” as the outro. It’s a Dinotopia thing. Fly high, seek peace. There’s also a translation error with the tower names. The games originally were set to cover a lot more varied areas...boy a lot was changed.

Man the spike ear pichu being trapped forever and attached to just you the one trainer from an event (outside action replay) and lost to time has caused an existential crisis many years ago.

That first one was REALLY neat. I'd like to see them bring that back.

luckily I was able to experience those events first hand at the time, even the Arceus event although I had to use an action replay to get the event on platinum in the first place, I had no idea about the zoroark event so when it happened I was completely bewildered why a woman attacked me and it turned into a raikou

When you mentioned the title screen for Gold and Silver I was absolutely sure you were gonna mention the glitch that makes the Ho-Oh/Lugia visible and in full colors (and also all the Pokémon in the opening as having their shiny colors as well). I guess not today.

The Blink cameras are a life saver. Started to notice my stuff going missing around my house like my Nintendo handhelds and my Pokémon cards. Got a Blink camera and one night when I was heading into work I got a notification that there was movement in my house. Checked the app and found a dude robbing me. He stole my Switch and more cards, but was caught the next day and I got some stuff back. I can not recommend the Blink cameras enough and they are 100% worth it for your home.

You didn't need the Hall of Origin Arceus for the Sinjoh Ruins event. I did it with the Arceus I got from Gamestop in Platinum.

Detective Pikachu movie? Don't forget that in the Detective Pikachu game, R is explicitly made from Berserk Genes, explicitly from Mewtwo.

Bird Keeper Toby route is the best route to catch Entei and Raikou. It is directly connected with Miltank farm route, you can just go from route to route till one of the legendaries appears

Incorrect. Breeding with a shiny parent in GSC can influence the IVs and increase shiny odds to 1/64. The odd egg is around 1/14.

The Odd Egg Pichu doesn't know Surf as a special move. It knows Dizzy Punch, just like every other Pokémon that can hatch from the Odd Egg.

Yeah, I was actually playing Crystal VC as I watched this video and went back and checked my shiny raichu from the egg.

These cameras would help me monitor my guinea pigs which foxes have recently attempted to attack in my garden. I live in the UK

I have Virtual Console Crystal so I'll have to try that Celebi event. (There was also a event Celebi you could transfer to the Alola games that you got if you bought any of the Gen 2 Virtual Console games within a certain period). Also your "Hi Alexa" actually caused my Kindle Fire to respond from across the room (it comes with hands-free Alexa). Which was really weird.

I inhabit England, so I guess I qualify😂 I’d love the cameras to keep tabs on deliveries. I work from home and I need to use things like a sewing machine and clippers, which are noisy. It’s stressful trying to work and not miss any knocks. On top of that, I am sensitive to sound and usually need noise cancelling headphones - if I work too long with noisy things without them, it leaves me feeling awful. There’s no hope of me hearing them knock with the headphones on... PLUS there’s always the anxiety of opening the door. I know how quick you need to be for delivery drivers/postmen. They don’t stick around. The peep hole is difficult to use and identify who they are, and takes extra time..And may be obvious I’m at the door. That’s my need for something like that 👌

Assuming you haven't traded everything up you can still access the events. Always transfer my Arceus/shiny Pichu across between Diamond/Platinum and SS to be able to do the events.

Aww sweet dog. I live in the US. but those camera's seem awesome. Idk if they'd do us a lot of good living out in the middle of nowhere but when I do move to the city I may look into that. Also with the no transfer pokemon there was another special pokemon in gen 4 that couldn't be transferred as is. (Which ultimately defeated the purpose of transferring it) but the surf Pikachu gift from battle revolution couldn't be transferred with the hm move surf.

I could use a camera to check who's at the door before opening (or giving signals that I'm at home)

Finaly ^^ im a first gen child but the second generation games are the best out there. I knoooow they are way to easy and underleveld. I actually beat the elite 4, just the other day in Heartgold and literally ripped them up with a lv 46-49 team.... SO YEAH... up to that point those games are way to easy but the whole lategame, going back to Kanto, first time stepping over the boarder back then, realizing you ACTUALLY CAN travel all the way back to the locations of the first game..... I think till today that was one of the most rewarding and fulfilling gaming experience of my life.... Mind you there was no Internet in that form back then and add's for the game on tv been non existent or very rare and short at best. We just didn't knew it till it happend! So that moment was just amazing (And raised my expectations for the next 2 generations waaaaaay into unrealistic dimensions) XD
