My parents never has any of these things when they started out. Now .. my kids have phones. In their pocket. And don’t even know what Long-Distance is ! Imagine if we had thwarted all of these developments because “only the rich can afford them.”

The "EcoDrain" is a total bust. The wall studs were rendered structurally ineffective. Probably won't pass building code.

0:20 or you could just have a 100$ PV panel, charging a battery, and have light from LEDs whenever you need it, including at night. I recommend 14s Lithium ion, or 16s LiFePO4, a charger controller, and then dedicated HV LED drivers after each switch. (in the light module) This improves the efficiency, as higher transmission voltages to the point of use, lead to lower losses overall.

From an economic standpoint what you’re saying makes sense but if we could get rich people hyped up over it the prices will come down and eventually be cheaper and more efficient. The maximum theoretical efficiency of covering light to electricity is around 40% and while leds are efficient is not possible for them to be 100, plus the price and ease of manufacturing for the raw materials to make fiber optic cables is way cheaper than those used for leds or solar panels. These don’t convert anything they just move the light where it’s needed with super high efficiency which would be ideal all things being equal.

I want a Regen! But 2500 USD is too steep for poor countries. In fact, most of the items that would help other countries are priced out of reach. Too bad.😢

Rainy is a good in theory! But when it rains, the rain water seeps through the ground, and down outdoor pump shafts to refill the aquifer. Even if you do save water, pumping out the aquifer without replenishment could lead to sinkholes.

10$ camping shower bag you can have free showers for half a year or more, you can leave them on your car, house windows which get hot, etc Also in summer, a 400$ air to water heat pump will move the heat from your room air into a water tank, so at the same time cool your room and get got water as a result. There are solutions, just not in thins kind of commercial video. There are option, keep looking

Combining a lens in front of the heat pick-up with a parabolic reflector behind the pick-up, more power could be generated. The pick-up creates a shadow anyway, so a small lens would probably not interfere with the efficiency of the parabolic dish very much, but it would add a very hot spot onto the front side of the pick-up.

truly commendable video the only problem i see is the initial installation cost which is way too high for bigger solutions

Is it? I understand the externalised costs of fossil fuels don't end up on peoples bills but that's not cheap.

So many of these ideas could be helpful, but realistically will never see use by someone who actually needs it. The water collection, $2000+… the solar car port.. anyone who can afford an ev is parking it in a garage… things that provide light in the daytime… turbine that only provides power at 25mph wind and the price is a secret 😂

Citing MSRP is off-putting for sure. This channel goes on a bit too evenly, it could spice things up throwing its own spicy prices. Wanna device that separates waste and freshwater with an anodic metal? Fine but collect and treat rainwater for washing. Metal armor plumbing on half ya roof? It's free but you need to dress like Blake Lively, get sewing.

Solar carports. All of those awnings over gas pumps need to have this product!

Granted it showed a large roof dimension to provide, but I have an 8 by 16 roof on my wood shed that'll fill two 250 gallon totes on a good rainy day. Just built a barn and with 512 sq ft roof and will pipe that into 8 more totes. Currently I've managed to just use water from one tote this summer as it would refill and it supplies enough to wash dishes and showers for our tiny home. Our shower though is on to rinse, off to lather, in to rinse and conserves a lot of water. We utilize a fraction when we had a house for our family of 5. Really taught conservation of resources.

I find some of the claims of superior efficiency to be overblown by a wide margin. A 6 times higher efficiency for a evacuated tube solar water system versus a simple normal one, is just not on. The same with some of the claims for photoelectric solar, and the wind turbines - please!

Ridge blade also has the added benefit of producing ground poultry year round!

The have a list of suppliers depending on your country on their site, and presumably contact details if you want to be a distributor - first result on a google search. They do look great though if they perform even vaguely close to the figures stated, as somebody with a south-facing rear, large windows at the back and heating issues in the summer I'm very tempted by them.

The "Source" water condenser produces 5 liters of water per day (depending on conditions... the average human male needs 3.7 liters per day, female needs 2.7 liters... there is no way one can sustain a household much less a community... Sounds like a $2000 boondoggle. - That carport goes *Up TO* 5000kWh if conditions are ideal (sunny everyday) so I hope you need to drive less than 55 miles (88km) or you will be tapped out. The thermoelectric generator is a farce at a paltry 1.2 volts it may light an LED or two, but you will NOT be charging your average cell phone... One turbine can generate 56 volts... that is only half of nominal US voltage 2 $2200 each... and you WILL need two... I also notice they did not mention Amps or Watt/hours either... might be ok in a primitive setting but a pricy, high maintenance P.I.T.A for most other uses. Nice using the "tan tights" on the hot girl and dark tights on everyone else... too bad you have to pay $2500 *AND* peddle for about an hour just to fill the thing and even then is just enough to refill your laptop and cell phone once... Overall? Most of these items are expensive "crap" made to make you feel good and part you from your money for something that will rarely get used and likely go to a landfill in a relatively short time... IF they work as advertised at all!

I can't wait for technology to catch up so these things will be super affordable. Kind of like TVs.

Source sounds to be impractical in most of the cases. Bcoz it takes around 72 to 96 hrs to restore rel hum in a particular area in normal weather conditions.

If you use a parabolic mirror for light you could also put the beam through a prism and take the different wavelengths. Use the visible for lighting and infrared for heating, I don't know what the UV could be used for. I believe that fiber optics may allow the light to go much further.

UV-c can sanitize air, water, and surfaces. The only problem is you have to use crystalline glass to allow transmission of effective light. UV-c room sanitizing machines are used in hospital rooms all across the US.

Reg the Sun Bank solar roof top heating units. Why are the large tanks with the company logo attached, a high polished chrome finish, would some version of black absorb additional solar heat, the chrome finish is acting like a mirror, reflecting valuable solar radiation away from rooftop.

So 3:20 is basically a different type of dehumidifier.

Think about how often electricity prices go up?.....think about how much it will cost to mod your house and install that system...no way your ever recouping that money.

Prices are very low on photovoltaics and people aren't moving on it, just because of garbage situations at the grid tie-in (because the present grid operators/authority are vested in acting like Spotify.)

These solar roof ideas are ludicrous. Bulky, complex contraptions that costs thousands of dollars worth of materials even at scale. Photovoltaic panels are simple and dirt cheap.

That is all well and good, but how do these devices cope with below zero temperatures and snow?

Most dont do well. Source wouldnt work at all and the solar water heaters would have to be drained and you would need to use something different half the year where i live

Building code for having very freezing winter periods in which the pipes in your house nonetheless do not freeze and burst, partly because you transfer heat from graywater and wastewater with the incoming service that's barely below frost line.

Average wind speed in my region (like in almoust all continental Europe) is 10 km/h. Only 36 days per year it can achieve 40 km/h. It means that this turbine will produce full power only 1/10 hours per year, mostly in cold season

The video is so good love it … but one Solar water is there in India from past 20 years may be even more which even today costs less than 700$ .. in US people seems getting cheated with 4000$ 😂, many products I see is 3-4 expensive here in US or European countries where it’s way cheaper in lot of other places . 😅 Even the rain water harvesting kit also is just 200$ I think it’s less than that .

I assume the $4000 price tag is inclusive of specialized labour for installation and taxes...and btw american salaries are many times fold indian salaries 🙂 and not to mention lots of products from India are made with cheap materials and with no guarantees for safety... your family's life and ur home integrity is much more worth than the savings in price...

Most of those things smell like scams from a mile away, high maintenance time/cost being one of the most pronounced problems.
