He said that they were trapped and couldn't get out. In reality, they went into the engine room and were immediately electrocuted from the generators getting wet. Sad indeed.

That very long ship regularly passes my window as we live right opposite the sea and at night the ship is all lit up with small lights, it looks like a long train. We regularly see small boats getting very close to the huge ships so not surprised these accidents happen.

Meanwhile I'm sitting here wondering how the people who film videos of two ships colliding in vast spaces of open water manage to film _everything but_ the collision? Omg two ships are about to collide! *shake the camera vigorously* *pan a little bit more so it juuuust out of the frame* *film the ground* People film car and plane crashes with no problem. But a ship creeping along like a snail; they have time to set up a tripod and have a sandwich before it actually hits anything, and manage to botch the shot.
