For acrylic I use tin foil instead of plastic. More rigid, and conforms well to pallet. I also use a fine spray myster to give the surface a light spay of water before putting paints down. This will keep the paint from drying as fast. Through working every now, and then I give the top of pallet, and paints this same light myst of water to keep paints wet.

Hey, don't toss the top of that water bottle, invert it in the bottom and wash your brushes and the pugment fragments will fall to the bottom leaving cleaner water in the inverted part... Brushes should not be left in water AGREE, so get some floral styrofoam and punch the brush handle in to leave your brushes dry, also you can make brush holders the same way to sort your different brushes...

I have a good tip : If want your colours to be smooth on paper and flow with your brush in the paper you can actually use soap (liquid) .Just mix very little amount of liquid soap into the paint and watch the result.....it will super smooth 🙂☺☺😊😊😊

I recently discovered a hack. I like using alcohol to blend coloured pencils (I'm asthmatic so can't use solvents) but the colourless blenders end up getting stained. My hack is to use a waterbrush pen and fill it with rubbing alcohol. Works like a dream, and easy to clean

The trick with the brushes and re-shaping them was pretty helpful. I'll have to use that for my older brushes. Just remember to use conditioner when you use that. Here's some art hacks: 1: Use hair conditioner on your brushes every few uses. Keeps them good for longer, and can even make a crappy brush good. 2: Clean your palates when you're done. Simple common sense. Clean up your messes, and you won't have a problem. 3: Organize things from the beginning. A tight ship is a happy ship, as they say. 4: Keep a knife in your art kit. you know what they say, a good knife has a thousand and one uses! 5: Keep 120 grit sandpaper in your art kit. Sometimes the best pencil sharpener is an abrasive personality!

I love a couple of the tips that you showed. The reshaping of the brush and the binder clip on the edge of the water bottle so they can drain down. I have a little add on tip with the ribbons. If you wrap it around a piece of card board and you don't have anymore clips or a stick pin, then you can just cut a slit in the card board next to the wrapped ribbon and slide the end of the ribbon in the slit. It will not move!! Thanks for the hacks!

Just bought two expensive Da Vinci- Brushes that I kinda had to hand over for an important wallpaint job (noone of my colleques exept me had that tiny brushes ). So basically after the first use they were a bitt ruff, and I thought I had to buy new ones, because I originally wanted to use them for detailed models, props and moulages. I now tried the hack with the soap, and I am so exited how this turns out! Well I have to whait until the brushes are dry, but they already look like new again. Thank you so much for the tip :-)

For acrylic I use tin foil instead of plastic. More rigid, and conforms well to pallet. I also use a fine spray myster to give the surface a light spay of water before putting paints down. This will keep the paint from drying as fast. Through working every now, and then I give the top of pallet, and paints this same light myst of water to keep paints wet.

the clips are also handy to use when sketching your painting on paper on a clipboard.Or if you don t need to stretch your paper or use tape for a nice clean border...you can use the clips on the board to secure your paper you use to paint onto.It leaves no dents in the paper...But the place they are on will also not be painted.
