How to make The Universal tension wrench

Came back to this video because I made this tool after watching your video about a year ago. Turns out this has become one of my favorites and my go to tension tool! Seems to me a tension tool can make or break your ability to pick a lock. I feel like people don't spend enough time really talking about how important the tension tool is and how having the right tool can make a big difference. This tool has been the right tool for the job for a majority of the time. Thank you for this! Someone needs to by your design and sell different sizes of this in a kit (one size fits all but still think it could be even better to have multiple thicknesses and widths)

Thanks for linking me to this Chris! I was under the impression you'd used piano wire because of the little twist you put on the end that goes in the key way, I thought it was hammered out, not just a wiper insert turned at the tip 90°. Very cool, I have the material so I'm going to make this right now. Your tensioner always looks so comfortable and you never seem to fight with trying to get it to bite in any lock...I wanna be that guy too 😀😉👍. Thanks!!

Bravo, going to make something somewhat like this, only thing I'd say as LPL has said before, wiper inserts are great as long as the actual length on which you press tension isn't perpendicular, aka flat as opposed to being parallel and pressing on the narrow portion rather than the flat, as it will transfer more kinetic energy to the core rather than potentially losing some of your force to the level of tensile strength of the insert as it bends from pressure. Not a critique, not a gripe, I love what you're doing and fully support your content, and as someone relatively new to Locksport (6mo in), your videos are among the list of creators whose explanations and walkthroughs are helping me progress. THANK YOU! I will say your version with the combo of the two, with the twist that far up the bar, it seems more ergo and the portion that needs rigidity to transfer the energy looks to be long enough that this isn't an issue. 🎉 One final edit/comment: the use of heat shrinks on your tools is INGENIOUS and I will be adding this to my repertoire as I have a TON of them sitting around from my Raspberry Pi/SBC make bench. 🙌🏻
