For all the brilliance of the Higginses, O'Sullivan, Hendry etc, I still don't think there's ever been a better sight in snooker than Jimmy, amongst the balls, in full flow. Such a unique cue action, such swagger, and those shots that he made his own. The outrageous amount of side he could generate, those classic deep screw shots, awesome play with the rest - all of them Jimmy's trademark calling cards, and all on show here. Fantastic break.

You could see the excitement in his eyes before the last black...thinking how much coke £100,000 would get him. Poor Jimmy, I watched every one of those bloody finals. I sometimes think Ronnie is taking revenge on Hendry for Jimmy's sake. Wiping nearly all of his records away. I'm not sure Ronnie will win 2 more Worlds to equal Hendry but I think he's got a few more ranking events left in him as he breezes to a 1000 centuries. C'MON RONNIE

The cheer when the last pink & Black goes in is the loudest cheers ever heard at the crucible. This was the year when jimmy was at his most consistent. This year he made a maximum, won the UK Championship, got to the final of the WC, & was playing brilliantly all season. He had Hendry for the taking but at 14-8 ahead, he thought he’d already won it & would breeze through to win another 4 Frames, therefore started playing recklessly instead of carrying on & playing somewhat of a percentage game as he had done up to that point of the final. People always refer to 1994 & that missed black off the spot as Jimmy’s best chance, but it wasn’t. This (1992 WC final) was his best chance because of how far ahead he was & how well he was playing. Such a shame.

James Wattana did it a couple of months earlier and he did so with the knowledge that his father was gravely ill in hospital after being shot the previous day (Wattana wasn't told his father had died 'till after the match).
this was my lovely dad refereeing. xx

WOW its great 2 see that again, i think people forget how good jimmy was & in 1992 is was in the best form of his life he should have won the embassy world championship that year but as always with jimmy ever the bridesmaid never the bride, jimmy white in my mind is the best player in the world to never win the world championship & my all time favourite player, he had less hair in those days too & drago is a better pool player than he is a snooker player jimmy is a legend & still loved by fans
Incredible talent from JW matched by the same level of humility and sportsmanship from Drago. Love this
Remember like it was yesterday, one of the best 147's in snooker history.
Jimmy was kind enough to play me at 8-ball pool. It made my day. Top man.
jimmy's got to be one of, if not the most fluid player ever !!
Was watching this at night at Dartington college, Devon in '92. Only one in the tv room as it was shown late. Fucking amazing.
Ah! back in the days when Jimmy could still play👍
Such a great player!! Joy to watch....jimmy white
Fantastic player, probably my favourite of all time, golden era of snooker!!!!
Fucking love the whirlwind

+Gary Corfield was gonna write exactly the same comment...what a legend! funny story i met him in Marbella in 2004 and he was buying drinks with a €50 note and every time he kept saying keep the change... i wish i had money like that to throw away... my favourite of all time!!

Wow - that is crazy... I can't imagine having that much money and still choosing to go to Marbella above all places! lol

RihannasBikeSeat you have just summed up the man that would have the biggest fan base in snooker, and the greatest to hold a cue in his hand, a magician with a cue, snooker was so exciting to watch when jimmy and the hurricane playing, so so sad that jimmy near win a world championship, even just one of the six finals!! so many memories of this great man in action, the whirlwind from London town.

Fell in love watching Jimmy back in the early 90's. But watch that super-casual spin of the cue at 9:39 ... such a classy act and natural showman.
Fantastic !!! Jimmy White a true snooker legend. I enjoyed watching this :-) Higgins White O'Sullivan I enjoyed watching them all.
That long red and then the rest to pot the black amazing.
C'MON RONNIE

he wasn't called Jimmy 'White' for nothing!
Never seen such brave player hits the ball so sweetly never mind you can't have everything in life no doubts he is a legend
I remember this match, it was all over in 39 minutes, the cue ball had multiple scorch marks on it and had to be replaced, five reds and the blue ball had cracks in them, the table was beyond reusing, even the carpet had burn holes in it, amazing match, come on Jimmy, Tony was a true gent, great character.

only just noticed that after you had commented and couldn't help laughing, but of course John Street didn't want the crowd to risk distracting Jimmy from completing the maximum and so, the old school "Shut up" was nicely timed lol

William Dines I think the referee shouting shut up would have put me off more than what was going on in the audience
i love watching this guy play.
thumbs up if you played Jimmy White's Whirlwind Snooker
£100’000 up his hooter ✊🏽 legend
Tony drago celebrating jimmy whites 147 was just as good as the 147 itself.
Thanks for the upload : )
Classic Jimmy White. Made so many brilliant shots to keep the maximum on. Definitely one of the top ten players of all time.
awesome! I drink with Jimmy quite often I had forgotten about this 147 until now thanks for posting
It would have been nice to see Jimmy win at least one world title. He certainly deserved to.
amazing cue power..
A pleasure to watch....it reminds me of when I used to play Pool in Sean O'gs!!!
Perfection!!
I never feel sad for jimmy,, he won all the big titles apart from the world and got to 6 finals,, made a living from the game he loves and still more popular than some of the world champs from the past.... come on Jimmy!!!!!!!!!!!!
I miss those days.
Wow! Spectacular play!
Fantastic it’s perfection when you see a 147
There was some serious tricky shots in this great break.
Favourite ever player
Two great players.. Nuff said !!
watched this during my college days in london.. what memories.. london was a much better and safer place back then also
velfortjent 147 til jimmy White.dengang den aller beste med kø forlenger i verden.
A beast !!
Love both these players
Beautiful stuff.
my hero
It looks that Jimmy is in form this season he have qualified for 3 ranking tournaments and hope he will continue :) legend...
9:44 what great sportsmanship ... great move by drago
Great cue ball control. Very enjoyable to watch.
my idol
drago played often those unforced shots in his career... he liked the "fast game"
Jimmy is great man to watch playing snooker and has defo got talent
In Essex, a 16 year old boy who had just turned pro thought, "That's the way to play snooker."

I remember 92 well , i thought jimmy had finally done it but sadly it wasn't to be he got complacent then hendry smelt blood anyone else and im sure jimmy would have got over the line
maybe jimmy never won in sheffield but for me and most people he will stay as the most popular and beloved snooker player in the history.
Tony Drago was smiling all the way through this frame, and hugged Jimmy at the end. Like when a 9 dart finish happens in darts, sportsmanship and appreciation shown.

Amazing
Miss these days and David Vine like crazee. Moved to the US so haven't followed the game since '91. Just learned of Hurricane's passing. Jimmy, cool as ice here and kudos to Drago for the love. I wish Jim just had that 1 trophy under his belt. Still the most popular of them all.
what a genius and what a great sportsman this drago is here!!!
What a shot with the rest.
Amazing 147,Jimmy was the people's champion,we all loved him and still do,but now we have Ronnie O'Sullivan, the greatest ever,6 worlds,7 u.k.s,7 masters,20 triple crowns,37 ranking events,1,100 and odd centuries,15 147s,these are mind blowing stats,c'mon Ronnie at least one more world title

So asked, so done...
the look on Jimmy's face walking into the last shot. fully focused
It's fair to say Drago was erratic with his snooker. Certainly the Whirlwind outclassed the tornado here
i have to live 1000 years to defeat this monster... Salute JM!!
Lol, the second 147 against Drago that year! Crazy to think he still (at least recently) plays, while he wasn't even the youngest back then!
insane . woww
amazing spirit from tony drago!
20 people need a slap!
£100K was a lot of money in 1992! Well, it still is now obviously, but you know what I mean.
I love Tony. He gets so emotional. I wish he was on the snooker tour.
Nice one, Jimmy 👏👍❤️
pure artistry - the Georgie best of snooker
i love this guys... fuck yeah!... awes0me man!
The People's Champion and bad boy of snooker in a nice way ....If only he had won more in his career .....Loved the way Tony congratulated him too
Love Drago's sportsmanship. He was grinning the whole way.
The best player who never won the world championship.

He had his chances. Vastly inferior players like Taylor and Doherty have won it. Something missing between his ears.
