After some extensive research on the range of auxiliary fuel tanks available in Australia, I recently decided to fit a 160-litre aux' LRA tank to my 80 series, the unit has good ground clearance and is a very neat job overall, everything works as expected so I couldn't be happier. Thanks again to Roger, Tash and the gang at LRA for your professional service. And thanks very much Grizzly, for the reassuring review on the LRA tanks used in your Defender, happy travels everyone.

Thats the way young felah,l got similar setup in my 4bd1t County the problem l had is the drop arms get bent doing 4x4. You can put front sway bar on if you do your research in the forums you will find its a better option if you do alot of 4x4. While you are in my area try camping at the Kurth Kiln Gembrook and Running Creek just before Jamieson great spots.

Those tanks look good, I might need to look into it. I completely agree on not only relying on the fuel gauge, I also reset the trip meter at each fill up. I also have a book where I write the mileage and litres down. I then can keep track of the fuel efficiency over time to keep an eye on how the engine is doing.🤷🏼 been doing it for years now.

We managed to put a hole in our LRA tank on our Tacoma. 30 miles from nowhere on BLM lands in Wyoming and we're under the truck patching a hole. We found a welder to fix it later, and we love the extra range it gives the truck!

I love these videos where we actually get to see where the stuff is made and the stories behind the company, for example imagine if you asked him about the the company history and he starts telling you about a hostile takeover from a massive billion dollar company owned by some bank no ones ever heard of, I'd have turned off. Would love to see more of these, perhaps you should get a deal with the discovery channel and tour the world sourcing all the parts to build overlanders and off road accessories.

Very interesting video again. By trying to safe every kilogram on my Defender just for the reason that it is under powered anyway, i am still impressed how heavy yours is and still works reliable in general. I know that you have an power upgrade and i think i have to look for such as well. Cheers and have a great weekend.

Wow... 210L capacity... that's an eye watering 400€ to fill up over here... My truck has a 100L tank and I've only ever filled it completely once in 5 years..Nice mods though and essential if you travel the Aussie bush I guess... A mate of mine nearly ran out of petrol near Alice Springs once.. That would have been life threatening..

Linkage for the swaybar should be in the opposite direction so that the swaybar is parallell to the ground and the linkage more horizontal. I think this needs to be changed to work correctly.

@@GrizzlyNbearOverland You have the sway bar mounted correctly. It is a big contention in the land rover world. I swapped my bar to a I think a loadmaster as it mounts on the axle and the arms go backward. Works alot better. It is a very strange original setup and can bend parts. Keep an eye on it as it is known to bind alot.

Hi Lee and Steph, I love your channel and I’ve been following you both for a while now. I just thought I’d ask, are you selling the old tank by any chance? I’ve recently bought a Perentie 6x6 GMV (after growing up with two Ex-army Series 3’s and owning a Disco One for 16 years) which I’m planning on adding some extra fuel storage to. Regards, Shanon😊

As here in Europe. You wont need it. You can fill up almost everywhere. But two points on this: If the Diesel is cheap on one day it could be worth to fill up as much as you can. And much more important: The difference between need and want! :-) like so many attachments (and of course i NEED my bottle opener on the roofrack) Greetings from bavaria.

@@porcobene_media it's nice to fill all the tanks when the price is right but also when reliable diesel quality is available. In many countries we've travelled the fuel quality is bad so having the extra range is hugely beneficial.
