Title says beginners MUST know these words....the translation for "one hundred trillion" comes up...riiiiiight. Plus some words need to be specific, either in the French or English translation (defined as noun, verb, adjective ect) like "Park" that could mean "le parc" as in a public space, or "se garer" which is "to park" aka your vehicle...or another example: "square" it could mean "carré" the geometrical object or "place" as in the town square...very confusing without context!

What you have to learn first is the verb forms like aller, avoir and use them properly. If you know that and learn tenses, its easy. Compared to English it is much easier.

Sort of . Exactly!^ Probably the most useful verb tense is the passé composé, you use the present indicative forms of avoir and etre along with the simple past of your verbs. But in actuality, the verbs are complex yes. But difficult? I wouldn't say that. There are relatively few irregulars, the rest are patterns of the same verb stem-suffix structure. I promise it's not hard at all, you just have to fully assimilate one form at a time and CONSISTENTLY use them throughout your days. I suggest using Assimil, it's a superb method that allows you to not focus on grammar points as much as feeling the language. I highly recommend, I've just finished it and can glady translate most of what I read, and far more than I used to as far as listening. Fantastic book, and it comes with Audio (assuming you get the full package). Je vous souhaite la meilleure vie, et personne peut vous arreter que vous-meme!

"close" has two different meanings whether you pronounce the "s" with a soft s sound (as in opposite of far) or a z sound (as in opposite of open). You pronounced "close" with a "z" sound in this video but gave the definition as if you had pronounced it with a soft "s" sound. ...and for "sand", I have never heard "sable" pronounced like "sabler"??? Is that even a French word?
