1400 POUNDS OF RUST, GREASE, AND DIRT... It's a dirty, thankless job, but somebody has to do it.

Another fine mess I've gotten myself into...
This is a quick video of the 1958 Austin Healey Mark 1 "Bugeye" Sprite I've picked up to restore.

Great project, but a lot of work, I've had bought a bugeye more or less like yours, years ago, also replace the floors the sills the chassis members, but it is now almost finished, they are worth it

They are getting a lot harder to find here in the states. Should be fun when done though.

Definitely a rotisserie project. Because the Sprite is so small (11' 2" x 54") I'm going to use the same setup I used in restoring a 14' aluminum boat. A hacked engine stand on each end with outriggers and 30MM tubing to bolt them together lengthwise.

Not being discouraging but you've got your work cut out for yourself. But I've seen way worse than this resurrected to a thing of beauty. And this is a great classic for sure. You don't see a lot of bugeye's around so definitely worth the resto. We are just getting to the end of a '68 camaro resto. Should be starting it this week. Its been 10 years but could have been sooner. Live gets in thevway sometimes. But jeep at it and it will happen. Doug sent me, will be watching.

I pretty much knew what I was getting into when I first saw the car. I've watched some of the cars Graveyard Cars and others have restored so there is some inspiration there. It will take time, but I have plenty of that now that I'm retired.

We are just finishing my buddies resto. It was a ground up job that took 10 years. 1968 camaro heat was pretty much just a bunch of boxes of parts and a rolling chassis. There is only 6 original parts. Everything else was purchased new. Word of advice, if you can avoid Chinese parts do so. Every peice we put on it had to be modified to fit. Total nightmare.
