140 Gallon Tank - System Overview
Үй жануарлары мен аңдар
I have received many questions lately on how I setup my tanks and what i'm using to run them. This is the 140 Gallon (84x18x22) Tropheus Tank. The Rocks are called "Rundle Rock" available from here - www.thunderston...
Filtration - Fluval FX6, Rena XP4, Fluval C4 HOB
Lighting - Two, 36" BeamsWork fixtures
Heat - Fluval E300, Eheim/Jager 300W
UV - Aquatop UVP9
Fish - Tropheus Bemba Orange (from aFISHionados www.cichlaholic... )
Thank for watching.
Correction! (Thanks Infinite Remote Control) This tank is 84x18x22 NOT the 48" I said in the video.

I'm super envious of the beautiful moss covered stone you have
Nice to see your Tropheus still doing well

Thanks for sharing you tank looks fantastic and its always nice for pepple to explain size of the tank and everything you run,😊😊😊
That looks to be a standard Perfecto Marineland 125 gallon aquarium. 72x18x22 single brace with black silicone.

Great video! Again I am always thoroughly impressed with your knowledge and content. As far as the video it sort of depends. A higher frame rate is more desirable when filming things that move quickly and is a little bit more "realistic" but a lower frame rate provides more of a cinematic feel. I'm assuming most of your viewers do no have the hardware capable of viewing 4k footage but it still provides a higher bit rate so a more crisp image. I guess what I'm trying to say is it really depends on the type/style of video itself. You seem to enjoy long clips with minimal cuts and fluid commentary so based on that analysis I would say that 4k @ 30 fps would be the most well-rounded choice even if you only end up exporting it as a 1080p video.
Dude, not sure if you still have this setup, but mine is almost identical. Thats wild lol
Looking good, nice setups!

Thanks DJ, i'm rolling out all my tanks over the next few days so that when people ask I can just say "Go watch the video!"
Very nice.
Nice tank but 4ft x 18 x 22 is only 82 gallons. It would have to be a minimum of 7 feet long with that height and depth do hold 140 gallons.

Wow your right! Its a 7' tank (not sure why I said 4 feet?!). There goes my infallibility complex (my wife will be happy), I appreciate your critical thinking, we need more people like you on KZread.

do you have an opinion on seachem matrix as a superior nitrate remover.i'd like to say hello 'what's your name. enjoy your video's

I have never used Seachem Matrix. I have almost bought it a few times on Amazon, but have always ended up finding other Bio-media for cheaper. I would not say its "Superior" because BioHome seems to have the most compelling case for that label. It could be great stuff though, you just need to wait 6 months to find out!

Which beamswork led is that? If there is a link then its helpful. Thanks
you have pretty fish and clear water. and i do have a question is it safe to pickup stone from local water ways I have clown loaches so want to build them stone caves thank you
@AquaticLogic

You for sure can pickup stone from local waterways, BUT its best to sterilize it first. I would place the stones in my oven, and slowly heat them to 100C/212F hold it there for a hour, and then slowly cool them down.

Aquatic Logic thanks for sharing this
beamswork LED light is available on eBay, made in China of course but they do work very well..... this tank is dope! very cool rocks ,I would buy some,(you can get them from local quary) but can you imagine the shipping cost from Canada to the gulf coast Pensacola FL! stay fishy!!
@AquaticLogic

I know what you mean about shipping! Its funny because we Canadians want Holey rock (which is endemic near you right?) and the shipping to get that stuff up here is SO expensive. The cost is also compounded by the unfavorable exchange rate as well.
Looking good. I've subscribed :)

These rock are found in abundance in Nova Scotia, walk out your front door and bam all over the place.
How do you get those tanks for free used aquariums where I live are just so expensive

The typical scenario looks like this: Someone has a giant fishtank in their living space they dont want anymore, or was brought into their life by some boyfriend or spouse. They want it removed and do not have ability to do so, so they ask someone just to take it. That is where i come in. The 140G took me 5 hours to remove from their house (it was built into a wall) so it did not cost me any money, but it did cost me a lot of time and energy. I find everything for free on Kijiji. HTH
can you link me to that big ass power head?
125 gallon not 140
Is that a website in Canada

Surprised you don't automate water changes. You already have the water line next to your tank.

My water comes out at 3 degrees C, so I need to mix in hot water which complicates things a lot. I actually enjoy doing water changes its therapeutic for me and my fish ;-)
NICE NICE!!
