Excellent tips. My Takealot lithium battery mini fan with different settings, is one of my best buys ever for Kgalagadi. During the day i charge it using usb , and 10pm when the power is off , it last till the next morning

My Tip coming from 60 years of Kalahari Park yearly visits and experience is >> Go to Kij Kij and sit under the tree early in the morning and leave at Midday and treturn at Midday to Rooiputs Where campsites are FAR apart and unfenced. and takes 40 Minutes for the T Rivieren Mob to arrive leaving me PRECIOUS Time for taking my lions in BEST light >> Best time is April/ to Mid May when the frosts arrive and the animals disperce

You get your permit when you arrive and hand it in immediately. You then have to collect it everytime you go out and hand it in everytime you get back. That means you have to queue in the mornings.

@@TheSafariExpert Its a Stupid Rule thank Goodness for Rooiputs where Botswana does not have staff to collect and hand out Permits >> HUGE Waste of Time in PRIME photographic light . If that Map info Book is anything like the 1st edition of the Kruger one I would Definitely NOT buy it as the Kruger version was/is Full of Mistakes and besides I literally know every Camelthorn Tree and the Hustory of the Park and there are only 2 roads and 2 Dune Roads to self Learn .. Spend the money on an extra 3 nights at Rooiputs

I would also like to know about the gate passes. We will be staying at Kalahari Tented Camp, Nossob, Urikaruus and Mata Mata. Ten nights in total and really looking forward to it. Thanks ever so much for your videos, the tips are very useful.

You get a permit when you arrive and then collect it at the gate/reception (depending on where you stay) everytime you leave on drive. You have to confirm which route you will take for each drive. When you return to camp, you hand it back in.

You should buy a SANParks Wild Card if you are staying that long. I bought one in Kruger so I am going to check if I can buy one at Twee Riveieran. It lasts a year, so you can get another holiday out of it 11 months later!

@tigershoot I already have a Wild Card, I'll be renewing it online shortly. We have had a Wild Card for many years, it's a great thing to have for sure. We usually stay for 3 weeks at a time in Kruger so it saves us quite a lot of money.
