It wasnt bad at release, just the dialogue isnt as robust as New Vegas. Now that there is DLC and an next gen update, this game should be extremely solid.

It’s still considered a terrible game. Poor gameplay and graphics. Non existent story/RP. It was most liked at launch. But most players never actually finished the main quest line. Just such a bland boring experience. Fo4 is only fun with mods.

Differently from the "updated" Starfield base building, unfortunately

Base clothing that goes under armor is also really handy to get used to for two reasons. One, a fair number of such clothing options (like military fatigues) can improve your stats. Second, once you get your hands on ballistic weave, you can modify that clothing to be pretty much as protective as normal armor, and as far as I'm aware, it stacks with any augmented armor you're wearing on top for maximum protection.

My dream are coming true, people enjoying Fallout 4 again :D

You should also have at least 1 point in the scrapper perk. Looting weapons and armor over-encumber you really fast, while crafting materials weigh next to nothing in comparison. However, you are throwing away caps if you scrap gear without this perk.

This game received so much criticism in its first year, but when you take into consideration all other modern open world games after this year, fallout 4 is arguably one of the best. So much replay ability, the shooting and looting mechanics are amazing, plenty of cool characters, great dlc and far harbor does a ton story wise if you didn’t like the main story, plus the crafting and settlement building offers infinite creative potential. There are downgrades on dialogue, but there are so many unique places to visit on the map, quests, and the overall lore in the game is still great.

Jeez, it's kinda like Fallout is really popular again all of a sudden and Fallout 4 is the best of those games to play? Rhetorical question BTW.

If you max out your settlement "size" you can go find a bunch of weapons and junk and bring them back and scrap them inside that settlement and it will think you scrapped pieces of the settlement and allow you to build more things!

Hundreds of hrs in this game and never finished it anyone else

One does not simply finish fallout 4…..because another settlement needs your help, I’ll mark it on your map!

2:30 If you play on survival mode, where you only get three rolling autosaves, when you get to this point, even if you're other wise happy with your build, make sure you change your name. This will start a new set of saves and leave your old save just before you get to the elevator intact. If you want to try another build you can go back to that save and make the changes you want rather than starting from scratch.

If you get trade routes going, your stored workbench inventory can be accessed from any settlement's workbench along the trade routes.

5:26 Explains you’re “in for a surprise” if you don’t go to the vault in the beginning of the game. Proceed to show the same footage everyone sees when they do go to the vault. Fantastic editing IGN

Looking at sales of all the old games they cashed in very well 😂

You can scap weapons at the weapons bench and armor from the armor bench everyone seems to miss that imho it is quicker then dropping and using the settlement system to scrap.

Can’t wait for diamond city radio again

Also when leaving power armour remember to remove the fusion core or npc’s will get in it and wreck you 😂

Mutefruit, corn, tato's, cooking station. adhesive, problem solved. aluminium however... you can only raid the fish packing plant so often. 🤔

Always loved this game even when it came out and I'm now happy that people are looking at it fondly especially after the television show is out.

The game did fine. It didn't capture the tone as strongly as 3/NV did, but it did fine. Base building was an interesting and new touch.

It didn’t “capture the tone” on purpose. Each Fallout has its own tone by design. The main story was better in 3 than 4, but Fallout 4 was better in literally every other way though.😂

Always remove your fusion core from any power armor you store/ stash away. If there is a workshop nearby you can store it there.

Great video! Just as a point of clarity, on Playstation when you're looking at your list of save files to load, the top one in the list is always your most recent save.

It also doesn't tell you that if you side with the Minutemen, you're gonna be the one doin all the work while they freeload

Correction: Recycling the structures will deposit any items inside containers into your workbench. So no need to really loot the place when you can just go through in build mode and recycle

Also don't know when hacking a computer you can cycle through all the letters and numbers until you come across a bracketed section it will take away the words that are duds and even give you one try reset from time to time

You will also find Work Stations all around the Commonwealth, not connected to the settlement system, that you can use for temporary storage of all the weight dragging you down.

Just bought this to re play when next gen update comes out

It only tracks your last worn armor, so make sure to dump any extras at your settlements!!

Can't wait to finally finish the DLC and mop up a few more quests

You can tell a companion to loot corpses and container endlessly. It takes a little patience, but you come home with a truckload.

Manual shooting is better than vats most of the time but you still want to use vats so you can bank a critical for those dangerous moments where you need to do alot of damage and it guarantees a hit.

Maybe on PC. Trying to aim with my thumb moving an analog joystick is more than difficult on my Xbox One.

Microsoft please get InExile or Obsidian to make a new fallout game or remake Fallout 1 and 2 while we wait for Fallout 5.

Workshop areas are not all connected unless you assign an NPC as a trader connection to it. Establish a central hub you like and then when you find new workshops, assign an NPC there as a trade connection

Build armed/armored sentry bots to send out as provisioners. Very tough, and leaves more NPC's to work settlements.

@@chromeboi9 LOL. Working the settlement means about 7 jobs other than settlement guard until you build stores and can assign a settler to tend each one.

All companions only need 1 ammo for any weapon other than a nuke launcher. Check it out. Never had to give them ammo at anytime.

In Vanilla, you have to supply all the ammo for any weapon you give to your Companions, assuming you select it for them to use, instead of just carrying it for you.

Ammo DOES have weight in survival.

The mods are going to be broken by the next gen update, so you might want to hold off on that.

it has 60FPS right now via FPS boost on Series X, also has HDR support. So...what more is the next gen update going to do?

Fallout 4 creates save files by characters name, you actually dont need to do what IGN says. If you create multiple characters, you can boot up by the character name

2015 was a great year is a shame all we get now are buggy, unfinished games, and microtransactions.

If you do supply routes to all camps then your stuff will be at all the settlement.

This is one of my most-played games ever and I've never needed the scrounger perk and I've CERTAINLY never purchased ammo from a trader (what a horrible suggestion).

Can’t believe IGN doesn’t put the trick where you only need ONE ammo for your companion to use the weapon infinitely

Power armour…. should have mentioned that if you leave it at an outpost, with a fusion core, the residents will climb into it and use it while under attack…

No. If you don't drain it dry you can sell low charge fusion cores for a decent price to any trader. Apparently, traders have a way to recharge them, but we never see that in action.
