14 HOURS on a Croatian Night Train between Zurich and Ljubljana
Hallo!
The last time I travelled on the Euronight Croatia, I had such a wonderful time in the Croatian sleeping car, I had to check out their couchette if it was as good as their sleeping car, and despite some hiccups, this ride was very interesting on many points...
Enjoy, and don't forget to like/leave a comment to help the channel :-)

i keep practicing to flick my fingers to prepare my bed like you do , but so far i have totally failed. I admire your skill 🙂
You forgot one of the main attractions of the Zurich HB: sandwiches and chocolate at Spruengli! While they are not huge and rather expensive, this is probably the best food for travel I have ever experienced anywhere. The quality is incredible. I close my eyes and pay the bill and enjoy the food later on, on the train...

Europe is such a beautiful place!
02:40 : This could potentially be a coach to be transfered to another depot and will travel closed at the rear end of a normal train. (To Basel or Geneva for exemple)
Next beautiful video. Greetings from Czechia 🇨🇿
In October 2022 took first morning train from Zurich to Villach, Austria. Changes at Sargans, Switzerland and thence Railjet X to Salzburg and EU to Villach. Spent night in quaint and lovely Villach. Got up early to catch your train which in this case was on time. Rode just an hour to Lesce-Bled, spent the morning at beautiful Lake Bled before the crowds arrived. Just perfect. Bus to Ljubljana. Beautiful city. Two days later planned to catch your train on to Zagreb. That day it too was a couple of hours late. Took Flixbus instead. Overall it was a great trip which ended in Serbia riding the high speed Belgrade-Novi Sad Stadler Kiss trains.
I like the turquoise colour scheme that prevails
Love your videos all the time! There is a food hall next to the station called The Bridge. There you’ll find a Japanese restaurant Tokyo Express. It has a nice seating by the window on 2nd level with the great vantage point to watch all departing and arriving trains especially on winter days 😊.
I love train travels!!!🚂 and this video is great!!👍
Great trip. The couchette also great as the sleeper one, nice. Definitely agree, more power outlet or at least USB Power plug socket at all bed.
No worries about the SZ 363, I was in Slovenia last week and i've seen plenty of them in action!
I like your vlog. You should try riding Whoosh in indonesia, the first high speed train in southeast asia with a speed of 350/KMH. There are still many more trains in indonesia that you can make your youtube video. greetings from indonesia, Keep spirit and keep healty bro😇
Comfy couchette. Nice bed. Great scenery. Thanks Thibault.💚👌👍
thanks, great video again, bro 👍👏 when will you do Zagreb to Rijeka port, the landscape is very Scenic , especially the arrival onto Rijeka during day time
Again you forgot to pay attention that not all cars from Stuttgart headed to Zagreb, but some also splitted exactly in Ljubljana towards Rijeka ;) (probably only one sleeping car, sometimes there is one WL and one Bee Stuttgart - Rijeka). The blue buffet car at the siding is part of the train often seen as part of rail enthusiasts' train running here around.
Hi Thibault. Loves your videos. Could you also include a few minutes of your destination stations in future videos? Would have loved to see what Lubljana station is like.
This train has a very comfortable timetable for travellers. Night in the train - it's always an interesting experience. Unexpectable was to see the ex-french locomotives in Slovenia.

Wow, 2:14 is indeed a stunning view! Zurich Hbf has surely beautiful platforms. The sunset on the clear sky, the buildings, the trains, perfect. When will you visit Indonesia and review our train?
Great video.
The cars displayed on 14:46 [most probably] belong to Railway Museum (Železniški muzej) on Parmova street. Greetings from Ljubljana!

I have a request. Trains from Budapest to Athens! 😉😁 Let's see if you can do this epic journey.

Unfortunately this is currently impossible, as there are no international trains to and from Greece right now, mostly due to extensive railway modernization efforts in Serbia, which caused total suspension of services on several crucial railway lines.
I invite you to try the 4 berth couchettes between either Budapest or Vienna to Bucharest on Ister and Dacia trains. Those are the largest youve ever seen
Bin im Oktober bzw November 2021 auf einel kleinen Teil gefahren und die alten Haltestellen hatten echt Stil.
Nice one Thibault, the guy trying his best to thieve you was not a good vibe I’m a poor sleeper at the best so I’d be awake for the rest of the trip, if I was younger there is no doubt I’d have confronted him and probably ended up with a knife between my ribs for my efforts, best to report him though to save others losing valuables, looking forward to the next post

Good video
Will you do sleeper train to Split? :) there's Budapest - Split and Bratislava - Split.
Yeah, you can stop advertising your book, it arrived this week. 😃 (The German version, since that's easier for me than French.) I could make a joke about 'nez cassez' because I'm Dutch, but yeah, it's not a good sign to see them lined up like that. There are still a couple of the Dutch 1600 (later 1800) and 1700 series with private operators, but the last NS ones have been taken out of service this year, and most of them scrapped. It's actually my favourite type of locomotive. They have such a distinctive look, and you can find them in many countries.
@maxart3392

Don't worry too much, the 'nez cassez' are always parked at the sidings of the railway station when idle. This practice has been around for years.
Impressive and at Salzburg Hbf what ÖBB ended up doing was something like this ÖBB Baureihe 1116 Buchs Kanton St Gallen Salzburg Hbf🇦🇹 from that station onwards all the way to Dovoba ÖBB KkStb Südbahn/Karawankenbahn Laibach Hbf it's now the ÖBB Baureihe 1216 9:50. Unless it was combined with ÖBB 1216 Bludenz Innsbruck Rosenheim Salzburg Hbf otherwise your train wouldn't be able to make it up the Arlbergbahn. Another train station where they can combine the Stuttgart and Zurich trains is Rosenheim Hbf🇩🇪 11:49 15:16 SZ363 should also be related to the Amtrak X996🇺🇲 although it ended up losing to the Swedish RC4/RC6 locomotive X995 in Austria that locomotive is known as ÖBB Baureihe 1043

Interesting that recent videos of night trains have all experienced significant delays, showing that that does happen in Europe too. Though it worked out for the best with some lovely views. I must put the Karawanks Mountains on my to-do list 10:10I'm sorry, Lake what?
will check back soon to see if closed captions are available!
15:10Perhaps 'legendary' rather than 'mythical'; 'mythical' suggests it never actually existed, like the mythical unicorn 🦄
Good video, they sell beer 🍺 on train? Unless I missed that part
Boa viagem ai simplys trem cama show
10:09 What the,
It would be interesting to get your opinion of Croatian made Končar EMVs
what will happen to services like this once Nightjet moves to the new fixed 7 car train sets and these cars wont be able to just be tagged on like this?
VILLACH MENTIONED!
You didn't say - did you make your connection in Ljubljana?
I am not getting something. The elderly people in your compartment forgot to lock the door? Were they the last ones to use the door before that person snuck in at 4 AM? Or other compartments?
A bit like Chinese hard sleeper but nicer
why would there be a boarder control on the Austria - Slovenia crossing? always thought it was part of the Schengen zone... I can see the control from Switzerland being a thing, since that's a fully separate entity... but should this crossing not be unnoticeable like crossing between Spain and France or Germany & Denmark? have I always had the boarder of the Schengen wrong?
@f.g.9466
4 күн бұрын
Switzerland is not a "separate entity" for that matter, Switzerland is also part of Schengen Area! Spot checks for security reasons (different from immigration checks and borders) are always allowed. But members are also allowed to raise temporary border controls. And that is the case with Austria on its land borders with Slovenia, Slovakia and Hungary, hence the case mentioned in the video. The member states "abuse" this policy and keep renewing the temporary controls. And that is also the case with Denmark which has a temporary border control at the crossings from Germany since 2016. While driving into Denmark from Hamburg the car I was in was one of the few randomly selected to stop, but they only asked the driver for documents, not the passengers.

@@f.g.9466 Switzerland definitely used to require a separate visa from Europe (Schengen)... maybe this has changed since, but when my family lived in Italy, only the Fronterliera (those living a certain distance from the border) were allowed to cross unrestricted... for the rest, you had to get a multi-entry visa I think like once a year... it took like 15minutes and was inexpensive, but it was a thing you had to do.

468 miles in 12.5 hours is about 37.5 miles per hour, definitely not shinkansen quality
@maxart3392
8 күн бұрын
The purpose of the night train is to get you to your destination in the morning hours, so speed is not an indicator of the quality in this case. At Shinkasen speed you would probably arrive at your destination at 3 am. Very convenient!
