You ever consider using a quilt for warmer weather? Ive got ahammock quilt with primaloft insulation that has a snap together footbox like a mummy bag. But theres no back to it. So you save space. And if you move around a lot its more like a blanket so you dont get bound up in it.

im debating on tent sleep or hammock sleep this september. What is your pros/cons on hammock?

@@zachduncan2829 cons I would say is that you dont have a full covered structure with a floor for gear and whatnot, however theres lots of ridgeline organizers and I bring an old umbrella that I took the material from and put it on the ground for my bag, another con is that sometimes its a pain in the dick to find trees. Pros are you dont need to worry about finding flat ground, when it rains heavily you arent soaking an entire tent and footprint, just a wet tarp, Versatile in that you can throw up a tarp for bad weather, throw the hammock up for a quick nap, its easy to setup as well. Biggest thing is that youre off the ground, so your body doesnt have any pressure points that yo would have when laying on the ground. Your feet are in the air and usually above your head so they get good rest. You can also do everything from your hammock. You can sit in comfort and make your breakfast and coffee without having to open the tent and cook outside, and youre able to lay there and do stuff without propping your body up like in a tent.

I hope you set up a base camp because you are way over packed. 2-3 sets of base layers, a chair and cordura bags for organization just to name a few things are all adding many many more pounds that while they may make you more comfortable at camp also wear your body down over the course of a hunt.

Rick Going Rick, thanks for the feedback! The average 7 days backpack trip weight is around 50lbs. He is sitting at 55lbs with 7 days of food, and all the gear. While cordura bags may seem heavy, they only add a few ounces per bag. The chair weighs in a 1lbs - so it’s a leave or take option, but still keeps you around the 50lbs mark so why not have it. As for base camp - with bivys, you have the option to leave fixed or run and gun. Good luck!

You have so many clothes! Lol ditch all those clothes and get a set of puffy pants and rain pants... Way more efficient and way less to deal with. That t-shirt ur wearing, a light merino hoody, puffy jacket and rain jacket is all u need. Also ur runny a bivy and carrying a tent? Y not just bring a tent. Or a bivy and sheep tarp

We don’t carry all those clothes lol. Most stay in the truck and after 5-7 days of hiking, switch out for fresh pair. This was merely showing what clothes we bring. Also have the option to bring**** a tent instead of a bivy if it gets too cold with a stove, but most of the time it’s bivy only.
