VN24 - 14.11.2020 - Unna / Germany - After a traffic accident on the highway A1 on Saturday afternoon an semi-trailer truck tipped over and blocked the directional roadway Bremen. The following blockade dragged on for hours. Nobody was injured in the accident. According to initial information, a 44-year-old man drove his truck off the road to the left, presumably due to a burst tire. His vehicle then collided with the central crash barrier between the Dortmund/Unna freeway junction and the Kamen-Zentrum junction. The truck then overturned and came to a halt at a right angle to the roadway, blocking all three lanes and the hard shoulder. The oncoming lane towards Cologne was also affected. Debris and parts of the fruit load (22 tons of persimmons) were scattered here. The traffic could only go over the hard shoulder. The rescue and cleaning work took several hours. The right and middle lane in the direction of Cologne could be reopened at about 01:25 pm. In the direction of Bremen this was only possible again at about 5.45 a.m. The left lane remained closed in both directions for the repair of the crash barrier.

That was quite a big job and well done, although I couldn't figure out what the crane was doing - if it was to control the landing - it didn't work! Great video - you had a long night on the camera!

VN24 another great video I joy to watch, and as for the guy's who work for Kollmer's they do a absolutely fantastic job they must love it and there so professional and thorough about it and the care they tack unlike some other recovery companies you film unfortunately.

Also ich muss ja sagen ich habe den größten Respekt für diese Leute was die die dort für Arbeit ableisten. Aber was ich ganz und gar nicht verstehen kann und das ist für mich absolut nicht nachvollziehbar dass man so abartig respektlos mit Lebensmittel umgeht und diese nicht versucht zu retten damit diese an Bedürftige verteilt werden können, dafür fehlt mir jedes Verständnis. Wir bekommen immer und immer wieder vorgehalten wie viel hunderte und tausende Menschen von Hungersnot bedroht sind und da wird mit Baggern Lebensmittel die noch verteilt werden können und hier müsste alles getan werden und diese Lebensmittel zu retten; das darf nicht sein. Wenn schon dort die Autobahn gesperrt wird dann kommt es auf ein oder zwei Stunden nicht an damit diese Lebensmittel gerettet werden. Dafür fehlt mir jedes Verständnis
Man kann es mit der Werbung auch übertreiben.

Clearly the usual skilled Kollmer recovery crew knew exactly how to deal with this. Just a time consuming operation and an expensive insurance job at the end of the night.
Interesting they took so much time to remove the cargo, I’ve seen trucks with much heavier loads of cargo tipped right-side up and carted away.

The crew of this company dose not waste a move and the equipment is top notch . I have a question Why the cable dose not come off the winch drum in a free spool mode? All the heavy wreckers here in the U S A one man is able to pull the cable out.

I'm not sure if the winches from the tow truck or from the rotator are meant. The winches from the rotator are crane winches. These have no free run. That is not allowed in Germany
Iwonder how much these recovery operations cost
