$14,000 in the Middle and I Flopped a Set!! Austin, TX Poker Vlog.

$5/$10/$20/$40/$80 with Brad Owen, Doug Polk, DQ, Caitlin, and other characters make for a wild game of poker under the lights at the Lodge in Round Rock, TX. What could possibly go wrong when I get all in vs DQ with only one out to dodge for the second biggest pot I've EVER played?

I think I would have thrown up for that much on the table and lost it when the other guy stole victory from me with that one-outer. Andrew took it like a champ. Seven grand it several months' of savings, and what Andrew brought to the table (and lost that session) most of a year of savings.

He talked about it a couple of times on Lodge Live Streams where he commentated. One of the things he mentioned was that since he plays PLO so much that those types of beats seem to happen more often. So yes they are still gut wrenching, but he's just learned to take them as part of the variance (as mentioned by Filthy Rat). He prefers being in those (well he said he prefers winning them) situations where he read it right, made the "right" move, and just got unlucky versus times where he makes a "dumb" move and then gets hammered.

There are nights or even weeks were ppl run bad even with the "so called nuts" but then to have the second nuts in the end. If it makes you feel better my buddy at a cash game lost with flopped quads on a double board PLO hand but to lose to a A10 with one out to the ace on the river. Ridiculous run out for piles.. to think that your going to get half the pot but get scooped entirely.
