The sound of a full orchestra - heavenly.
Haha, asking for a pencil to mark stuff at rehersal reminded me of my orchestra playing time.
Part 1,2 & 3 MAGNIFICENT SPECTACULAR stunning venue Love love love it
Such a nice touch, standing behind the Lady that you met earlier, showing support for her during rehearsal. First class, Lee. First class sir. Made my heart smile today.
Aaron Copland: "Hoe-Down" from his classic "Rodeo"! THANK YOU for this, Leland!!
The Orchestra playing was beautiful. The acoustics of this place is amazing. P.S.: The two trumpet players texting on their phones was hilarious.
Beautiful venue
A fitting end to a great tri-logy... ....that's going to sound so good at night....

4th of July Concert. . .
interesting perspective, i've never been right in the middle of a proper classic orchestra like this, i wish i was there
Seeing Red Rocks is bucket list for me. But I will never get a tour as great at this. Thank You Leland.
Thank you so much for this. Red Rocks is a fabulous place and the orchestra was wonderful. Made my day!
OMG, Lee Skylar is standing right behind us!!!!!
For my money, I think Part 3 of this series is your best video ever. " The" bass player joining the 4 other bass players was seriously touching.
Leeland you are the best, thanks for always taking us backstage. Godd bless you
Hoedown. I remember ELP playing this to start the show..
Aaron Copland and John Williams seem perfect for this midwestern setting! Trumpet players!?! I love all your videos but today’s trilogy was special.
The natural acoustics of the place are heavenly! Didn't look like a single thing was miked, but you could hear every instrument clearly. Mind Blowing!
I love that Lee walks around the orchestra and stops at the bass section! go to what ya know right? awesome! sounded GREAT! I have never been to Red Rocks but now i want to badly!
Many of our great music stars started in school music programs. Support the arts.
Just one of the best, Lee. That you were camped out in the bass section was so cool.
Mr Sklar , i will never get the chance to experience what it feels like to be on a stage especially like the Red Rocks theatre in Denver with its fabulous natural surroundings as a pro musician . Or get the opportunity to work with a world class full orchestra, and thats fine . But thanks to your wonderful videos , my imagination is running wild and i'm almost there ,.. I cant thank you enough from thousands of miles away ,over the pond . All the best to everyone .
That was GREAT! I love how you ended up in hte bass section. Ms Bassist is going to freak when she sees you behind her :) Thanks so much for taking all of us along. This is going to be a great night. Wish we were there but this is "the next best thing to being there". Take care.
Love this communion of music making all around, in such a wonderful outside spot. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hey Lee, my friend that works at Red Rocks said you were all amazing. The weather is crazy today ! Hope you are rested up and dry.☺️
Such beautiful music and sounding just perfect for the location.
Thank you Mr. Sklar for all the beautiful music that you have blessed us all with through the years. Also thank you for bringing us along on this journey. The sights the sounds. Absolutely amazing. Wow, what a blessing. And the fact that you take the time to "smell the roses!" Continued success...🎼🎵🙏🙏🙏

This venue is on my list. Thanks for the great tour!
My word. To capture that sound of an orchestra from on stage, especially behind the bass section? omg, music heaven, or a small piece of it right there.
Of course, Lee just naturally gravitates to hanging out in the bass section during rehearsal. 😊❤
I was in a trance by the end, could feel the bass! I loved being right there watching the orchestra from the tall point of view of Leland's eyes. Thank you!
Amazing how much a wood block cuts through 50 or 60 musicians. More? Many thanks for a sneak listen!

I love the way you take us on the journey with you 🎥 have a wonderful life L 🎼🧠💪💚🇬🇧 Nath 🙏
Beautiful venue, almost as beautiful as Ms Keys! That would be great to be able and play there even just to hear the sound. Back hallways are cool as well. I wonder if when and if you guys ever have a minute, would Ms Keys dare sing a couple lines from Wade in the water? As always Lee I thank you for taking the time to show us around. Safe travels and Good memories
I think that’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard in my 59 years of life on this planet.
WOW Leland Sklar.....thank you for this extra special trip behind the scenes of my most favorite venue in the whole world.....
Thanks so much for this video Lee. In amongst the orchestra. What a treat
Remains gorgeous! And a sensational music bed behind your legwork!
Far and away the best video yet, Leland. Even through a hand-held phone, these beautiful instruments take control of your inner being.
You have out done yourself! Yet Red Rocks does that to you. Your already fabulous 👌 👏 I have a friend working there tonight! So green! Beautiful Evening 😊 💜👩💜 Stunning Colorado Symphony 💜
LOVE the CSO. An excellent orchestra. This is the most beautiful sound check I have ever heard. And to come up behind the bass section I don't believe to be accidental. Thanks Leland. (oh, and texting during rehearsal? REALLY? Hilarious)
Their rehearsal provided the perfect soundtrack to today’s journey…. It was really transcending to hear that… T.Y.
I used to live near Warner Brothers and routinely watched LA's best players carrying their instruments in cases from the parking garage to the lot. DOZENS at a time -- doing movie orchestral stuff.Playing at the top of your game doing that great music and earning Union wages -- I can think of a lot less fulfilling jobs. The iphone or whatever you used really captured the scale very well.
This is so good I came back the next day to listen to it a second time. And Lee is like a guardian angel 👼 hovering behind the bass section!
I'll try to summarize my thoughts , much to say . First I have never been out west , hence never been to " Red Rocks " I am fascinated with the venue as I am most venues that I have ever visited , yes I am one of the nerds who you go exploring for and I am grateful for this , these places are marvels of engineering and sound and they exist somehow built by mysterious people long long ago . This series of three videos was a little more like a mini documentary culminated at the end by pure grace and beauty of a marvelous Orchestra sound checking with Aaron Copland tunes . I Thank You for doing these tours , I am one of those people who when I go to see a band I also am going to see the venue , I don't get the all access as a concert goer ,so these are the next best thing . I will admit part three did make my eyes a little moist .
RR 1 & 2 were great, and this is outstanding, like others in the comments are saying, probably the best ever. I bet you never tire of that pre-gig buzz and excitement, especially amongst such talented colleagues. Thanks so much.
Love it thank you Lee, for All You Do brother!! ✌️- Thomas ❤️🎸
Took me 3 hours to find what the second song was but here you all go!! Haha!! john Williams, Dartmoor, 1912 from “war horse”. Thank you for the amazing video!! Blew my mind with the symphony!! Wish I could have been there!! Thank you Sir!! You are amazing!!
Merci beaucoup,de nous faire découvrir le monde musical
WHAT A BONUS! I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS!
One of your best videos Lee. Love the orchestra!
Wonderful set of vids for this place. Beautiful, started Lamont and Amy on their exploration and (favorite part) the bass player for the orchestra is a fan. Copeland does stir one up and you landed in the bass section. Well done! Thanks ❤️👍❤️👍
From all the tour videos I have seen (all of them), so far these set of 3, are the most outstanding of all. The magnificent venue, at night, a Symphonic Orchestra, Copland, and you guys. Mind blowing. Thank you so very much Lee. You have us some exquisite moments today. God Bless you my friend.
I am an old Rock and Roll sax player. I love Boots Randolph Jr Walker King Curtis Mike Brecker Jim Horn Dave Sanborn erc FOR THE NEXT 24 HOURS I'M ONLY LISTENING TO AARON COPELAND!
I rode by Red Rocks on a cross-country motorcycle ride last year and nothing going on but a beautiful area and a great rainbow in the mountains. I was watching a 1988 video of JT and you were awesome and dressed to kill Lee! You guys are hitting the AMT in Lancaster again and this time I am going......would you like to do lunch?
Thank you for such an amazing video! I've never been to Red Rocks but everyone says the sound is incredible. Just this sample tells me they aren't lying!!
That orchestra was wonderful, thank you for showing us that! Rather see that view than the actual performance, gave much more chance to see each member play.
This is simply AWESOME!! I just LOVE Lee’s road trips!!
I love this song!!!!!!! Copeland Magic!!!!!! Our Pops plays this at the 4th a lot!!!!!!!
So beautifull.., the music is so powerfull
I found myself mesmerized for minutes on end studying the bass section lost in the moment. Wonderfully insightful and delightfully entertaining. Thank you much.
Just when you thought it couldnt get any better ,part three comes along. Ive got my JBL cans on and it sounds truly awesome. Next best thing to bieng there. Thank you so much Leland and Orchestra.
♥️ Wow! Watching with my oldest grandkid with our eyes glued to the screen. That was AWESOME!! Thank you!!! 🥰

What a total delight to be able to watch over the shoulders of the orchestra members! Such lovely music! Thank you for sharing!
Once again Lee, thanks for taking us with you on your incredible musical journeys. I have been with you since James Taylor. You have been the bass line of my life, and for that I'm truly thankful. I needed this video today, it struck a chord. Peace my friend.

Yeah, Lee you need to get one of those head worn devices for your phone when you’re climbing in the upper reaches of the rigging in some of these places
Thank you yet again Lee. My son is a concert trumpeter, but he also plays bass guitar in a variety of genres. This video ties it all together. I’m a performing guitarist and this all warms my heart
Love the flutes. I played that instrument…❤❤❤. What a Glorious Day!

Has to be one of the best. Thanks
Just beautiful.
I want to thank you. Just a small time guitar player who has heard of Red Rocks my whole life but never even thought of playing there. And you took me there and even backstage. What a cool guy you are!!
Stellar stuff. Thank you Leland.
Good evening from Cape Cod, Lee! ⚓️⛵️🏖 OMG, this makes me miss my orchestra days so much! I LOVED playing Aaron Copland's music. I played this piece on flute and oboe (Rodeo), so many times, and it always sent chills down my spine. 🎶 Thank you for having us listen! 🎺🎻🪇🥁🎼🎺🥰 PS- The sound is awesome on that amphitheater! 🔊😃

@SoItGoesCAL34 oh nice! I absolutely love the cello, my friend. 🎻 I played and still play the flute and oboe. Copland's music is like no other. 😃🎶
This is awesome to witness and listen to! Thanks for the video!
Of course you stand behind the Basses. If only you and the Dragon were in that section!
Wow! Double bass extensions!
Beautiful! Wish I could be there for the show!
Absolutely amazing! I got goosebumps watching this video. Thank you for the wonderful videos and your tour around the rocks. I've been there once, but wasn't for a show unfortunately. Bucket list to see someone there eventually.
Superb, just superb, nice to see your upright base !
Fantastic!!
Thats a wow moment! Might be the best you have ever done.
Ooooohhh I miss performing in an orchestra!! Beautiful! Have fun tonight!
Thank you for the tour. I am amazed at how developed sound production has changed. The ‘66 last Beatle concert In San Francisco neither band nor audience could have heard what would be capable of being done today 57 years later. The wall art on many venues could be its own book project as well as the construction of Red Rocks too. Lyle Lovett and his Big Band with Orchestra should be an excellent evening of music, thank you for a peak. The presence and power of a full professional orchestra is a proven standard of excellence. 👍

@@RockandRollWoman Below is a copy of what I wrote concerning my name change. Having reread again Herman Melville’s story ‘Billy Budd’ whose unpublished manuscript was found in a breadbox after his death, any writer at least wants to be read. ‘@Xsidecross My name artemis sidecross is no longer allowed by KZread without a ‘space’. I first used sidecross, but was not happy with it; I will now be using Xsidecross, but with an added definition of its origin. As a first-born American, my maternal grandfather and family came to America a fugitive after being shot in the back and being left for dead. He spoke no English nor could he read or write the language and signed his name with a ‘X’. With the knowledge of Perspective, a Greek Fifth Century B.C. understanding combined with Italian 15th Century Art we developed the ‘one point perspective’ we are familiar with today. With these two notes of fact my grandfather’s signature as ‘X’ while combined with the Modernity of Art, the ‘X’ can now be seen as a primitive ‘cross’ as seen from the side. With a concept of modern perspective it can be seen as a ‘sidecross’ or more directly Xsidecross. I am very particular about my name and my first name ‘artemis’ is another story.’
Just magical! Thank u!❤
ah, the bass section. Very cool, never seen before. So cool. Thanks!
That is John Williams quality. Excellent!
This is heart warming. Just Beautiful
That was wonderful! Great music, played by pros in a magical setting. Thanks so much for posting, Lee!
