Cool bit of movie history on Rocky III and the pinball machine in the movie. I always thought Rocky looked like a pretty fun game, definitely a unique design.

There is a youtube series called Hanks Pinball Tips that's hilarious. But he hasn't made anymore in years. All Todd needs is a wig and a beer and he can do his own "pinball tips".

I watched a couple and yes...he is funny...the channel is still active but he's not in them!! I wonder what happened~!

That Rocky clip had some good games in it. Saw a Asteroids, Space Invaders, Space Invaders Pinball, Crazy Climber, Charlies Angles, Flash Gordon, Paragon. You guys can probably pick them out better. Cool snapshot of the time period.

Yes...I always loved this sequence in the movie!

First time I've ever seen or heard of a home made pop bumper driver board. You should photograph the front and back of that board and post on pinside forums.

I saw another one over the years that had the connector made for it (made by a different person). I am shocked he didn't simply try fixing the old one. The other three were never upgraded, and it was a standard Gottlieb service bulletin too!

I have one of only a few of these here in Australia...incredibly rare machine 🥊

Not many made, and of course, quite a few were junked over the years. I would guess not many imported either.

playfield in rocky movie looks like a force 2 to me !!!

Yes...the System 80 games love LED's...we are using a combination from all three places we buy them from--Pinball Life, COmet, and Lights Out.

Looks a bit complex of a design for a game… it might be obvious why it wasn’t popular but it looks cool no sure if I would be interested in playing maybe just once to just to try it but I wouldn’t play it more then once

Well, its got great bass...and it does the best it could do for that Rockwell PCB system....the machine really is for a Rocky fan...and I suspect thats where most of them are. I am sure Mr Stallone has one!

You totally nerded out on that rocky scene but then again I'm converting a Timeline 80 series 6 digit to 7 digit series 80A take that creep!

This was a restoration. I would figure the retail in this condition would be $6499.

I hate these lights showing through the back glass I don't know why you do it other people don't? It might look good if you had low powered flashes over the body the shoulders and mid drift like cameras flashing

There must be a way of reprogramming the voice to use Rocky own accent nobody done it yet, nothing in Mame is there to reprogram the ROMs??

You should be able to blur the edges on your green screen footage will make it look better with slight transparency around the edges. You can do it in gimp

The regular light bulbs also are noticeable too...glass a hair too close to the lightboard. But you get used to it! In person it doesn;t seem as obvious.

15 min in you raise the playfield and I swear that looks like the Flux Capacitor. So does this mean BTTF ripped off Rocky for that design :O (j/k)

There are capacitors for sure inside...I always pictured the flux much larger though.
