I know one! I think the shark is called Bruce because the shark from jaws is called Bruce. Pixar took this inspiration too and named the shark in finding Nemo Bruce.

The smooth operator achivement is also a reference to the Spanish F1 driver Carlos Sainz as he sometimes sing it when racing.
