13-year-old Garry Kasparov smashes the Sämisch - Tbilisi 1976
How did the mind of 13-year-old Garry Kasparov work over the chessboard? The future world chess champion was certainly dynamic in this featured game against Smbat Lputian from the Caucasus Youth Games of 1976, held in Tbilisi, Georgia. Kasparov, playing the King's Indian Defense, faced the Sämisch variation where Lputian prioritized queenside play over kingside deployment. Once lines were pried open, a must know thematic sacrifice followed which could only have been played confidently after having calculated both deeply and accurately.

Thanks for these regular uploads 👍
You are a fine chess teacher, Jerry, and an inspiration for generosity. Thank you.
Love these frequent uploads!
thats so insane. How are those players capable of keeping track with all that complex and contraintuitive moves. Huge respect!
We need to go deeper... what a tactical monster. Amazing game even for a top GM and this was at 13.
Great selection of game as always. Kasparov a positional beast. Amazing
Absolute best analysis....i can watch this my whole life
Jerry has blessed us with another one of his analysis videos. Keep them coming! :)
I love your explanations of the lines. Clean and clear! Thank you so much!
Thank you for sharing this beautiful game by young Kasparov! Cheers!
we miss the old gm and standard games pls keep them coming thanks!
As always - thanks Jerry. Really great commentary - the 30+ years of playing chess paid off. Some of those moves by Garry caught me by surprise. Not something I see too much these days with so many players playing more on memory than on the pieces in front of them.
A brilliant game by the young Kasparov.
Excellent discussion of move order in various tactical finesses
Love the analysis of classic games. Thanks a lot Jerry :)
Thanks so much. Really enjoyed this.
as always highly appreciate your effort, Jerry. cheers
i appreciate your clear and direct presentation, huge fan of your vids
Happened to wake up very early today. Surprised to see a new video. Thank you for uploading!
Clear! No questions remain. Perfect study! THXAL from Cologne Germany!
Love your videos. Always watch one during my lunch break. Great commentary and break down. Keep it up.
Thanks for the upload!!!!
Thank you for an education. I'm 63 years old and wished you were around me when I was really into chess....
Loving these regular uploads!
Whoa, so many great tactics in this game. Thank you, Jerry! BTW, I've been working through your standard games and trying to understand your own thought process. I feel like you think mostly positionally but have a pretty finely tuned sense of when to stop and calculate tactics. This game seems like Kasparov is thinking ahead tactically all the time. In any case, what you do here with these videos is incredibly valuable. Many thanks.
I love these videos, thanks! :)
Man I saw the notification for this 12 hours ago at work and I’ve been waiting all day

Final bishop move is excellent, thanks for the upload Jerry

Thank you for everything you do Jerry
A beautiful game. One of the best in my opinion !!
Stellar analysis Jerry, certainly taught me some great lessons in the king's indian and about maintaining tension, liked!
So instructive, great video Jerry
What a great game and analysis. Props!
As someone who only knows the very basics of chess, this video was very intimidating.
Awesome game, very sharp. Thanks, chess-meister Jerry
Jerry pls keep up the upload i really enjoy ur vids n always checking ur channel everyday
Kasparov's every move is with a tempo.
Great video - thanks
A better quality game after a long time,I have already watched 13 year old Kasparov game from Agadmator's channel will have to check whether the same. Thanks
Keep them coming jerry.
Final move looked like a puzzle move!...that I'd fail...thanks for the upload.
the fucking intro screen with the sound!! Like booting up nintendo 64. This channel has got me hooked.
So glad you're back Jerry!
Wow. Such a good game. So many great moves by Kasparov. Learned a lot
Hi from Russia, Jerry ! Like your style of review - slow and deep and easy for understading! Keep going and good luck!
Oh, finally a Garry Kasparov game!
There is so much chess wisdom in your vids
Brilliant game . thanks for sharing
Thanks, very instructive.
Very nice explanation, I got binge watching your videos
Great video!
Hi Jerry, great video as always
Personally, I find games, played by humans, much more enjoyable to watch. Thank you for your explanation of what's going on; certainly helps to fully appreciate the beauty of this game.
Great game; great analysis. Bravo.
Whoah loving these!
YES JERRY I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS SO MUCH ❤️❤️❤️
I like how castles covers both threats ... I've considered before looking for positions where there are two threats, but haven't really thought about, moves that counter two threats --- like the castle move in this game, covering kingside and also N on c1
Great video, Mr Jerry.
We love you Jerry keep it up!
Your videos are so awesome man. Stay with us.

Great game. Excellent analysis! Thank you very much!
Very instructive
Thank you Jerry just so great . what can I do to remember all those perfect moves when I play ? when I play I feel as I see the board for the first time in my life and get so intense and complex , but I won't stop watching cause I get exited just in understanding thanks again.
Just awesome
Jerry please do more commentaries.. it doesn't have to be top level chess because your analysis is why I watch
MatoJelic, Agadmator, Shaxmati dlia vsekh, GingerGM, and John Bartholomew are colossal titans dominating 64-squares, but Jerry is the King.
Brilliant play
I think the last name Kasparov is more like evenly pronounced w/o such accent on the first syllable. Not KAS parov but just kas par ov. Or even accent the par just a little bit. I think that's more like a Russian would say it. Correct me if I'm wrong!
More analysis yay!😀
Brilliance!
Kasparov was a tactical machine in his hey day, played almost like an engine.
Referring to your question on bishop to f2 .. sorry I could not edit only reply to own comment.
beautiful.
Wow these old pre computer games are so different than today's games. Easier to understand, more human. Post more please!!

Check the accuracy of today's top GM games vs the Kasparov games when he was in his prime. btw did you notice that GK was only 13 in this game?
Jerry is back!
like.... then watch the video... yeah that confident :)
Oh, how I've missed you Jerry
so good
This was a good'n i never saw this b4 :o
We are all a little bit better after this.
Do you use lichess as your interface when you are analyzing games? I've never seen these pieces on lichess. The computer analysis looks like lichess
Nice!
