Great recommendations! If you can locate some Hentley Farm Clos Otto or Standish wine company Lamella, they are the most elegant Australian Shiraz I’ve ever tried and represent great value!

Interesting regarding the similarities between the Aussie Chardonnay and white Burgundy. The same can be said of some of the better South African Chardonnays especially when aged. A very interesting video.Tks

I recently picked up a few bottles of the Leeuwin Estate Art Series Cabernet 2019. It really impressed me! 2019 is a great vintage for Margaret River too (I believe). I highly recommend it. One of my new favorites. Planning on picking up a few more bottles for the cellar. Great recommendation!

Thank you! A consistently excellent wine. Very glad you enjoy it! 👍🍷
What a pleasant surprise! Didn’t expect Australian and New Zealand wines to be your next topic. Despite the abundance of Aussie wine in my city, I don’t have a single Aussie wine in my wine coolers. But I do love Penfolds and, upon your recommendation here, I have recently enjoyed Tyrrell’s Hunter Valley Sémillon. I’m quite thrilled to see Penfolds Bin 28 Shiraz in this video, as I have enjoyed it in a recent Penfolds tasting. Also glad to see Tasmania represented here. I’ve always been curious about their sparkling wines! This is an excellent set of recommendations, and I’ll be sure to save the list for shopping-reference. It would be nice to have some wines from Down Under. Thank you for yet another helpful, useful, and relevant video. Definitely a must-watch for all wine lovers. Cheers, John!

Janzs is an amazing value, had one a while ago, and another waiting in the wings. One of the most champagne like sparkling wines out there.

My top Aussie wine is Clonakilla Shiraz Viognier. Just gorgeous. In general, Canberra District wines are hugely underrated. Eden Road has stunning cool climate Shiraz and pinot. Riesling from Canberra is the best in Australia, and maybe the best outside of Europe.

Thank you for weighing in! Appreciate your insights. 👍🍷
Love the video! I need to try John Duval, Xanadu, and Escarpment. I personally prefer Hunter Valley Shiraz like Tyrrells Steven's Vineyard and Brokenwood Graveyard and Kat's Block to Barossa. Also love NZ Craggy Range GG syrah, great stuff. Balnaves Coonawara Estate and Tally cabs are outstanding as well. NZ Man o War Ironclad is an excellent Weiheke BDX blend I love too. God Kumeu is good! AUS Leuwin Prelude Chard is an outstanding value too. Tyrrells semillon is also so so good. HvD gets more toasty but vat 1 doesn't seem to age almost at all! Jansz is lovely, Frogmore Creek as well

Thank you for the thoughtful list. Still lots of Australian wines for me to try! Sadly I don’t have access to as many here but do my best to taste broadly. And my recommendation are typically for wines people can easily source worldwide.
I would add Clonakilla O'Riada Shiraz, Clarendon Hills Blewitt Springs Old Vines Grenache, and Henschke Apple Tree Bench.

Love the videos John but you missed a couple of great ones which I urge you to try in the future…. ‘Tolpuddle’( Aus Pinot) and NZ producer ‘Pyramid Valley’ range (Earthsmoke, Angel Flower, Lion’s tooth). I’ve tried a lot of wines down. I think you’ll enjoy them if can get hands on them

Thank you! Appreciate the suggestions. Wines from New Zealand and Australia are not as plentiful here, but definitely do my best to try them when I can. I'll keep an eye out for these. Cheers!
Good recommendations, John. I still find Aussie reds in general too big, alcoholic and obvious for my taste but the whites, especially from Margaret River, are excellent. NZ is a terrific source of great chardonnay and pinot noir, particularly from Martinborough. Not a big fan of Marlborough SB these days, although I might pull out my last bottle of Greywacke 2016 on Saturday: we are eating Thai with friends.

My first Tasmanian wine was Jansz's pink sparkler, which was terrific on its own and with food (it was New American/East Asian restaurant with Middle Eastern influences). Interesting that you spelled the island like the Warner Brothers cartoon character of its namesake! 😂🤣
