13 Things Women Do That Push Men Away

What are some things women do that push men away? When it comes to love and relationships, it seems like men and women have entirely different mindsets! What may seem appropriate behavior to a woman may be a complete deal breaker to a man. There are several mistakes women make that push men away - without even realizing it. They often let these bad habits get in the way and end up unintentionally sabotaging their relationships.
Whether you’re a wife or a girlfriend, you may want to check and see if you’re exhibiting any of the behaviors that may be making your husband or boyfriend run away from you rather than toward you.
This video highlights some of the most common ways women drive men away.

@Joseph Gross I know what you mean. My ex was a narcissist and it was hell. One moment he was generous and loving, the next he was pissed off and insulting me. It was like being on a rollercoaster. I never could make him happy no matter what I did. Learned why after we broke up. He could be generous and loving at times, but for the most part, it was always about him. Never again. It has taken me over a year now to feel normal. One of the most painful and devastating experiences of my life. So sorry you went through it also. Be good to you and take time to build your self esteem up again. I now understand why I was attracted to him. My neediness and codependency was the reason I stayed for almost 8 years. So glad I have peace now and am single.

50th wedding anniversary coming up next spring. My wife is as close to perfect as one can be. The only bad habit she has is opening my mail. Hey brother, just recall the relationship of your parents towards each other and towards you. The subconscious of a child collects the toxic patterns from parents and that's the reason why later in life one may attract the same shit over and over again. Stay alert and break the loop. Also it helps to know your own astrological birth chart. For example: I have Capricorn and Vesta in Venus (which stands for hardship in love) and my parents were both highly aggressive, abusive and toxic. My father was a narcistic person who forced me to eat and used violence. My mother had anger outbursts and depression. Today I am aware that from this parent combination and due to my astrological birth chart I won't ever be able to have a healthy relationship and falling from one abusive toxic boyfriend to the next, I finally quit and love myself and god. That's why I accepted my fate as staying alone for good. I love me and god. That's enough. Next step is to learn to keep men distant in a friendly but firm way. I need some tipps here because I look nice and once I went to an ashram and even there guys were flirting with me. I want this to stop immediately. Can you give advice to me?

Everyone has a void in their life that only God can fill. Money, power, sex, material possessions, hobbies, career, etc. can’t fill it. Neither can that other person. If you expect another person to fill that void, you are placing an expectation upon them, that they can not meet, and not for lack of wanting to. That is selfish and sets them up for failure. So I totally get what you are saying. I think my wife is doing the best she can by me, which is all I can ask.

Most of us have been conditioned to seek happiness outside. its what we see modeled, its all around us in western culture. So although you are right, it is 'selfish' most people wouldnt know that at first, its just the way we were taught to do it. it isnt until much later that we get the wisdom to understand how selfish it can be, after much damage to others and even ourselves has happened.

Men don’t exaggerate, but some do put emotion ahead of the thought-trail. Some men didn’t have a role model or someone to look up to, which is quintessential to most. Lastly, men are private. Impulsivity and good judgement sometimes is thrown out the window for all of us. Now we all have these negative preconceptions in either sex and all are valid. It will spook him. Support his life goals. Full stop. Don’t look for problems. Stalking bad Idea. Get to know him through his friends. Don’t be negative about his likes. If he doesn’t want to talk about his feelings, don’t push it. But do strive for good communication. Leave the past behind. Set boundaries but don’t give ultimatums unless you are ready to call it quits. Don’t guilt a man into marriage. What makes a good marriage is a health man and a healthy woman who have common goals and values.

Expectations are the main reason responsible for unhappy married life, divorce and other broken situations,it is obvious that when you keep expectations with somebody you will always question or over analyze if it is not met completely and thus will miss out understanding and listening to the other, which will ultimately lead to an disasterous argument ending up the relationship, that's why i think the only key to happiness is: finding self happiness and stop expecting, start accepting,no one can keep you much happy than you yourself so learn to live your life being satisfied and self happy.

LeAnn Sorry, your wrong, overanalyzing does NOT means there's not enough communication. My wife does this at times and this drives me nuts when she does it. She will overthink things to the point she drives her self crazy. She always has to understand why everything happens even when there is NO WAY of knowing why. At times I will tell her "X" and then she will say you really mean "Y". Then I will say if I meant "Y" I would have said "Y". This is purely based on her insecurities and not a lack of communication. Giving Space? Healthy relationships are based on healthy individuals. If you need that much attention then how can you have a healthy relationship. Finding a man who puts you first tells me you want a weak man you can control. Hardly a recipe for a healthy relationship.

If you have to sneak and go through someone's personal belongings it only shows how insecure, untrustworthy, and devious a person really is and it could be a cover up on what the other person is actually doing they find a way to get upset with you so that they can do their dirty deed on the low . If someone goes through your things they don't trust you so you don't need to be with that person cause you really don't trust yourself trying to find a reason to make yourself feel like you are entitled to do it because of you being sneaky and crazy things that goes through your mind. If anyone does that to you break up with them and keep it moving cause they will continue to do sneaky things behind your back. That's a dangerous person

There's truth to all of these...but as a woman # 12 hit me. NEVER EVER give an ultimatum!!!!! I made that mistake & it ruined everything. I wldnt say it was to change him, but I wanted more of a comittment (not marriage at that time) but I said if he couldn't do that I couldn't see him anymore. It wasn't my intention to manipulate but I'm sure that's how it seemed. I'm not trying to "air dirty laundry" but I wish someone would have told me this! I wish I could take it back but I can't & it's waaaaay too late! To the ladies I wld say....I know guys can drive us crazy & make us wonder.....but if you really care about that person, be patient! I really wish I wld have done so and I'm so sorry now!

I agree with everything but not with the thing about forcing him to open up My ex wasn’t the best at talking about his problems or sad feelings or idk, he was always talking about happy things Well that’s not healthy in my opinion, I was always open about my personal stuff and feelings and he didn’t want to do the same. That’s not right, he knew almost everything about me while I knew little about him. Honestly THAT is unhealthy and shows no maturity

no, that shows he wasn't open to pretty much, being open "period".... not your fault if a person has serious issues they won't let you in on or trust you to let there guard down!... if someone won't let you in, in that way #1 they don't trust you "at all" or yet.... #2 they may just be someone who deep down trust "no one" truly!.... etc... etc...

No one owes you personal info. He was probably thinking: if I was never like that before, then why did you commit to me to begin with me? No one ever owes personal info to anyone. Giving that to someone, or anything, does NOT mean they have to return it to you. Kinda like when you want sex, no one owes you one. Same thing with info/ emotional bonding. Actual lying is a whole other thing, of course.

Thank you for verbalizing the various concerns, I've encountered over the span of different relationships, probably why I'm not that interested in taking a chance on another, I know I'm not Mr. Perfection, I was married, loved her very much, unfortunately she passed away, I miss her so much, not looking to replace her, would like to have someone to share a friendship with and perhaps get to know each other as time goes by, however not afraid to be alone, rather enjoy it.... however?.... ;-)
