I turned 13 on Tuesday and am spending time in Michigan for my birthday. I always like to swim in Lake Michigan in Saugatuck and South Haven.

I could almost hear the voice over the music. Anyways, another fun fact. Many stone artifacts in Lake Michigan seemed to have been used to help "heard" animals, meaning people were living on what became current day Great Lakes before they were filled with water.

Number 14: Lake Michigan, and the other great lakes, were formed by glaciers that grew and receded several times during the last ice age. Stones found on the shores have traveled via these glaciers from as far away as the UP and Canada.

FUN FACT #15: lakes Michigan and Huron are really one lake that are the same number of feet above sea level. There is no physical land barrier separating the two. Consequently, lake Michigan can no longer be considered the only great lake wholly within the US.

Oh sorry, the choice of words caused the confusion. Wanted to say, it is one of the 5 great lakes if we combine US and Canada. :D Will be careful next time.
