2 things come to mind with the moon. First is the song bark at the moon. The second is being a witch means every month we’re saying to ourselves “well damn, it’s the full moon again?”

The Sacred Pentagraph has separate rituals for each New and Full Moon in a full cycle - there are some trads that had developed those additional rituals back in the 60s and 70s.

In the Book of Gates the first gate is at the setting of the sun. A dead person’s soul journeys to the mountain of the setting sun which is called Manu which is similar to the Babylonian mountain called Mashu (Budge 1906, 1:109). Usually Bakhu refers to the western mountains, and Manu refers to the eastern mountains that hold heaven up.

Incorrect - it was Julius Caesar who originally abolished the use of the lunar year. Countries such as England actually only adopted the Gregorian calendar in 1752, some 170 years after it was introduced by Pope Gregory XIII, who did so to fix up what Caesar had left out as well as to align Easter in the Northern Hemisphere with the Spring Equinox.

The Blue Moon would be the second moon within a month

There are TWO types of Blue Moons: A seasonal Blue Moon is the traditional definition of a Blue Moon and refers to the third full moon in a season that has four full moons; and if there is a second full moon during a single calendar month. This latter definition was actually borne out of a misunderstanding of the first.

"Full Moon names" is a somewhat modern invention, resulting from a mishmash of alleged names that often don't even reflect all of the US, let alone anywhere else in the world, and is actually not part of initiatory witchcraft. Many of the Full Moon names come from various Native American tribes, and were later used by the early American colonists. There are many different names for each Full Moon; with the ones Mannun used being the most popular. I tend to use the Full Moon names that best correspond to where I live. While these names are not ancient, I wouldn't call them modern either.

Every full moon I set a bottle of water out and give thanks. 📜🪶💕🕯️
