Thanks for looking into this a few months ago. Since the recycle bins have been taken away from public areas, I wanted someone in local news to look into it. I don’t want to pay for curbside recycling that is not recycled!

I tell my wife all the time. It matters what u throw in the recycle bin but she loves to argue

Bcuz it's LESS work to argue, than it is to have to think about what needs to go where + having to do the actual work of removing labels from cans, rinsing jars, etc. When it becomes easier to do that and harder to argue, she will recycle 😉🙂

I just got in an argument with my hubby about this. I think it's a major waste of time. I believe it's a way to make more money by hiring workers to drive extra trucks to take all to the land fill. I am so careful to wash out all glass and plastic containers and make sure all is clean. But obviously I'm wasting my time.

One of my pet peeves: Seeing “trash” in a recycling bin.

Being recycled and being processed are two different things. Most of those plastic bales will end up somewhere in Southeast Asia, and there is a slim chance any of it will actually be recycled.

I also heard the Asia is taking less and less of this stuff.

Recycling is such a great business model. They get their materials for free 😂

Same with composting.. whats so funny about it. The customer has to pay someone to take it away anyhow..

85 % of recycling ends up in a landfill.

We have a separate can for throwing recyclable plastic at our work stations at work. I've never seen anyone put that anywhere but the garbage bin. I still use it as it was intended, most others just use it as a second garbage can. I figure eventually I'll give up also.

This does go to show that we all need to pay attention to what we put in our recycle bin. There were so many residents where I live that chose to ignore the rule and everyone got punished for it because of someone's stupidity. I know I am a mean guy by blocking people for jokes, but this is not funny at all.

What about the poorer countries, that don’t have these facilities? Where does there rubbish end up?

Since January 2023 the 1st, they are (in France).

I heard AirTags are not recyclable 🙄

To me it all looks like a major waste of time.

Who cares where it goes and who makes a profit off of it. You put it in the bin for the city to pick up. If your offended then maybe you should recycle your glass and plastics yourself. Then you can make the profit. Geez.....🤦

Seems like this is just a ploy for companies to get materials for cheap, or free and still charge customers full price for stuff made from repurposed trash. But that's just my ignorant and uninformed opinion.

Just pay your fees and stop asking questions.
