Another great vid. Surprisingly most of the great sales people I know are actually introverts or ambiverts though. I think the introspection they have helps them understand their customers more and it also forces them to develop themselves as they deal with some of the challenges we face in sales.

The first 45 seconds of this video has really made me realise how unhappy I feel in my current job role. I love being in my own space, and feel ‘safe’. I definitely need to reconsider my lifestyle this year, and put my happiness first. Anxiety sucks, but working from home can make life a little easier & happier. Thank you for this video!

I feel a lot these jobs they mention n some work from home jobs ask for too much & require a lot of skills but claim you don’t need experience

Graphic design takes talent and knowledge of color theory, typography and it’s proper usage and production procedures. It goes far beyond learning the software. That’s like saying, “Learn how to use a screwdriver and you can hire yourself out as an electrician.” (Of course, bad design won’t kill you.). :)

Thank you. I appreciate your explanation about the different work from home jobs. I have been looking at moving to a different state. And do remote work also. I started a podcast on how to take of yourself mentally and physically while working from home. I can see how beneficial it can be to work from home for myself. Perfect timing to see you your KZread. I think it is a good idea to be remote and have other work set up.

I would say at least half of these jobs actually do require a degree/ advanced certification if you want an actual chance at getting the job due to high competition from multiple applicants. Also the pay for some of these jobs is not quite accurate. For example, many online English teaching jobs require a degree and ELL endorsement and the pay is usually pretty low. Not to mention the hours are inconsistent as you have to build a clientele. This same situation applies to transcription/ translating jobs. But if you have a strong skill set or education, then yes these could be great stay at home jobs for some.

Right, teaching ESL online is not usually FT. It's usually around 20 hrs/week (4-8am M-F plus a weekend shift), and requires a TEFL certificate and a BA in any field. You might get paid around $8-10 per 30-minute lesson, so that's how people get the $16-20/hr. estimate. I would put that job closer to $18K/year for part time work, and not expect to be able to find the hours to do it full time.

Totally agree as usual these are alot to do with click bait!! Mist of these have many requirements and have to do with sales and customer service by phone!!! Very disappointing!!!!

I tried transcription of seminars a few years ago and it was not the same as the legal transcription I was used to. One hour of recording takes several hours of fast typing (and I type fast). The problem is that people always talk over each other so it's hard to hear what is being said. Also, some people have heavy accents so it's tough for even a multi-lingual person like me. If you are doing medical transcription, you need to take a course in medical terminology, which I did, (and that was hard all in itself). I just think this video is an over-simplification of what most of these jobs really entail.

For me, my answer is either Microsoft Engineer or Network Engineer. It's a good option for tech focused technical / analytical type minded people. I work in IT already and those just require certs. Network needs net + and good to go for CCNA after that. Microsoft just requires the Windows server fundamentals cert and you can go for MCSA after. These positions are often in demand and ever since the pandemic, most companies are cool with them working from home cuz all you need is a computer with internet and your companies VPN software. Also good engineers have the potential of making 6 figures after a few years.

@@deviljuanjox129 I don't have an answer for you. Software Engineering is a completely different field from what I am in. From the little I do know, it seems you are on a good path. Do you know what type of work you want to end up in? Game developer / engineer, CRM engineer, etc. I would say find what software engineer field you want to specialize in and after getting your degree, find what tools and languages they specifically work in and focus on those. But like I said, that isn't my field. Maybe someone else on here has a better answer :)

@@RuthlessNoise i quit my mcdonalds job, and used my time off to get my A+ cert, then got a job at a “managed services provider” only IT experience was building my own computer and passing that cert. my company has even hired people without a cert because the job can be taught, work ethic can’t. My advice is look for entry level IT in your area, could be call center, could be deskside support, and try to get a few interviews. Even if you dont get it, ask them what held you back in their eyes and take it as a learning experience. Managed service providers are a really good option because you can go from call center to engineer with the same company, and some of them pay for your certifications to do so. But, you will start off as a call center ticket monkey. And some of those companies dont have great reputations as employers, so definitely research the companies

I also want to add, i went from no experience and just A+ cert working call center, to engineer in about 6 years with multiple higher level certs. That is actually consider kind of long at my company, i have know people to be engineer within a year or two, but they got in and kicked ass everyday and studied for certs everyday. I took my time cuz im young and not in a rush :D

Regarding #6&7, as someone who has worked in the field pre-covid, they both now require minimally a Bachelors Degree. Even with a full portfolio, trying to get an interview without a degree is pretty much not happening.

Good advice. I'm on my way to becoming a software developer and I hope to work from home eventually. I can get more work done from home anyhow, spare me a communal workspace and a commute I don't mind.

im in sales and there are actually a lot of sales jobs where people call you, you dont have to call anyone, like selling internet for example. customer call you to get a service and you sell the service to them and get commission from it. also i think customer service is a great way to get into working from home. it is entry level and i feel like you can get your foot through the door, especially for someone with no work experience.

When I was a student (majoring in math and computer science), I had a part time job for a computer magazine, translating articles from English to another language, for a foreign language edition of the magazine. The chief editor was super happy with my work, after laying off quite a few people who were professional translators and majored in foreign languages. But they just didn't really understand computers and technology, and were writing a bunch of nonsense in the articles. So, I'd say, for some translation jobs, the in-depth knowledge of the domain beats the in-depth knowledge of the language and translation techniques.

@@JaneKolesova You need both. Actually, that's how translation works, you find a translator who's already done work in the same field. Taking someone who's very experienced in the medical field will be terrible for marketing texts. The opposite is true, marketing in-depth knowledge just won't do for a medical text. In both cases you need to have in-depth knowledge of the language and techniques. Someone who only translates written text won't know how to handle subtitles.

These days with translator apps, Google translate, and Chatgpt you would think it would be incredibly easy to translate articles, emails, letters, etc.

Been working in engineering for 13 years already and even if I'm not even slightly attracted to coordinate and even less attracted to manage, in my country and specific business (mining/power) there is no way you can coordinate a project without having probably minimum 5 years of experience, I mean, how can you coordinate something that you haven't been involved in before? Just wondering what fields you are referring to when saying you can coordinate with a 23 hr certification.

I used to be a project coordinator for a non profit, we had several projects that were getting funded from the state health department or other entities. The people who worked on those projects were project coordinators and managers.

Yes almost all legitimate project management or coordinator roles require a degree, licensing and on site job experience. Project staff make decent income but requires training and industry experience

For me, as an excellent software engineer, working multiple jobs remotely is the most rational decision to make, as it allows for more flexibility and freedom. Working remotely can provide numerous benefits, such as the ability to work from anywhere, more flexible hours, and the ability to work on multiple projects at once. Additionally, it can be easier to focus on tasks without the distractions of an office environment, because of the time office politics eat from you daily. Plus, to people who run institutions if You Can’t Code, You’re Illiterate. The quote "Software is eating the world" it was only the warning. The future is here, and the first domino just fell "Southwest"

Wow, I do a lot of those at a fraction of the wages listed, and me with years of experience too. Local sites from the Philippines typically offer rates at 3-6 dollars / hour for jobs that are listed at 17-20. This is made worse by hiring agencies (as opposed to actual business owners) making more and more of the posts, driving wages down since a lot of the local workers are willing to take that 2-3 / hour job as it's still higher paying than whatever local, in person jobs have on offer. I'm still trying to find places that offer decent wages that don't feel exploitative.

My work day is more like Wake up at 7.30 and get ready. Leave at 8.30 and walk 30 minutes to the office. Then work on stuff I enjoy (but still get stressed sometimes). If I need a break I can just sit on one of the couches and read for a bit or go down to the game room or the music room. Realize it's time to leave and walk 30 minutes back to my home. I absolutely love and adore my job BUT the pay is crap, so I'm stuck having to choose between doing something I really like everyday or being able to afford stuff.

People are certainly different. I had to work from home for almost 2 years during the pandemic and I loathed it! Part of it is the social aspect. But also I think you have to be very disciplined to maintain a good work/life balance over an extended period. Maybe the type of work (more open-ended vs defined goals and deadlines) also makes a difference. Working on site, I had a clear separation between work and home, and I worked efficiently and home time was truly free. Working from home, I maintained my routine for the first 6 months but after that I started drifting. I'd waste a lot of the day and then end up working late into the night/on weekends to catch up. I was doing neither work nor life well.

Getting that CAPM certification even if you don't actually get a project manager job can be helpful in getting other jobs as it shows you know how to manage things and stay productive.

Great information!

Transcription requires more than typing and speed. There are certain rules to be followed about what types of phrases to transcribe and the way to transcribe them. Most companies will have a book of rules to be followed that you must memorize. If the required methods are not followed, the work can be rejected. If you aren’t one who can consistently follow procedures, this may not be a job for you. But give it a shot. That’s why they test you first.

Work from home I’m sure should be great, but I find a lot of jobs that are remote are temporary. It seems a lot of these people end up loosing their job at some point. maybe it’s just the type of work the people ive talked to have been involved in but they’ve said that often times they feel anxious because the work load is slow

This is a great video for people under the age of 50. However, when you're 50 or above most employers do not want to hire you because they feel you don't have the skills necessary in the current marketplace which is a falsehood but that's for another video. Ageism is real.

For the 50 and over crowd..not ready to retire and want to work still..Open your own HBB..Home Based Business..One can work from home or a office a few days a week and set your own hours and salary scale...Having a HBB office is tax deductable...Get a Business License from your state..Sign up with at least 3 good Temp agencies that can give you Jobs/ Job Postings through them..Jobs may be Full Time/ Part time/Temporary or Independent Contractor based... Finding the right career that is best for you and your HBB is up to you..Do what you like...what brings you joy..What you have a love and passion for and is naturally skilled at....Stay updated in your career field with some self study at the local Library, book stores and through Internet research. . .

This sadly is so true. I've been applying like crazy and interviewing and nothing. With all the shortages I have a hard time believing it's not an age issue. When I say I have over 20+ years of experience I never get a callback but when I say I have a few years, I always get a response until we do video interviews and then you have to answer additional questions and that's where things end.

My problem finding a job working from home has been having too much experience. I’m a CPA in my 50’s with some fairly high level management experience. At this point in my life, I’m done with commuting and the whole in office experience which can be pretty toxic depending on the company you work for. 6) Graphic Designer 7) Video Editor This wasn't that easy, it require passion & commitment to learn for years before you actually reach the industry level. I have a degree cert for design, been doing freelances a lot, so its safe to say my skills are above average. The real question is, can you find me a real job to work at home remotely? If you do, i will thankyou for it & even give you a few designs for free.

I feel you on this i graduated in December and got my Bachelors, I still havent gotten a job since i didnt do an internship. Sad.

I agree with you on this. Though I dont have relevant certs on this, I managed to get a full time job as a Video Editor. It can be quite taxing especially when youre dealing with clients as they usually require you to change a lot of things and you have to be mentally prepared for some of the feedbacks they give at times.

I did medical transcription for 17 years at home. It is possible to make that kind of money but highly unlikely. I don't mean to belittle it whatsoever, because I loved it. You do have to at least have some background before you are able to do it from home or schooling for it. A lot of the jobs will require an experienced transcriptionist. You have to know how to spell those words and what medical words go with other medical words. Some companies will require testing to be considered for the hiring process. It was my favorite job, I loved it and miss it so much.
