I like the fact that Shunsui may not be as powerful as Yama, but the one thing he has that Yama lost is the ruthlessness that Yhwach talks about.

That love in Yama's heart is why they won the war. The ruthless young murderous Yama probably would've killed Ichigo for being Hollow and Quincy early in the story.

Good points, though i cant help but feel that if he stayed ruthless and killed Yhwach in the first war, there wouldnt be an invasion in the first place. Though it would lead to a whole heap of unknowable troubles possibly worse than a quincy invasion (ie hell overflow, world imbalances, no heir to SK.)

⁠​⁠​⁠@@jevonsims900is that the reason? had he been the ruthless person who he once was Yhwach was convinced he would’ve won or at least done way more dmg to the Quincy’s and that’s not something you just dismiss when the guy can see every probable future and in the end Yama is killed while all the other special threats survive and greatly assisted in defeating Yhwach, love Yama but y’all are trying to give him too much credit, he lost the defining trait that made him so dangerous to Yhwach and that’s why he lost and died, Shunsui adopting that trait (albeit to a lesser degree) and utilizing it in combination with the actual remaining special threats is what won them the war

I can’t accept iba as a captain he’s literally never shown anything at all feats wise to make him even low tier captain level. Isane at least showed a sliver of feats.

One thing I will say about Unohana, she quite literally only revealed her strength to Kempachi and only very few knew who she was, before that she was purely a healer. So Isane is actually a decent replacement because Unohana never used her strength in combat. Plus who in the entirety of the Gotei has anywhere near the healing capabilities of her. She is quite literally the best suited captain for squad 4 outside of Unohana. They are a healing division, nobody is asking them to fight wars

True, but we don't even know how good of a healer Isane is. We don't know what her zanpakuto does at all either, not even her Shikai. The thing with Unohana is even though we didn't see her strength before, we knew she was insanely strong due to the data books (out of the captains, her stats are second only to Yamamoto's), and the other captains showed fear of her, even if it was done comedically. Then she proved it in the fight with Kenpachi, where we see not only how good of a fighter she is, but we also see exactly how good at healing she is, as she literally brings him to the brink of death, instantly heals him before he even has time to hit the floor, and then believes he's passing out for a moment. And she does that hundreds of times, over and over.

Name one thing she has done combat wise for the current Gotei. Nothing, so we know she is strong but she might as well not have that power at all if she was never going to help the soul society when it came to combat. Also we know she is good enough of a healer to keep Kensei and Rose alive after what happened against mask, should be more than enough. But moral of the story, if Isane can’t fight that’s not much different than Unohana who refused to fight

The real mvp of tybw is none other than Shunsui. Kenpachi got his shikai and bankai bc of him. Aizen got released bc of him. Without him being captain, none of that would’ve happened and Yhwach would’ve lone killed everyone.

@@BrandonHeat243 bruh Hell arc Zaraki absolutely slaps Yamamoto, lol. Yamamoto couldn't beat ikomikidomoe with bankai, zaraki 1hit Hikone with shikai alone. Hikone is stronger than ikomikidomoe. Therefore hell arc Zaraki Kenpachi can literally 1hit no diff Yamamoto in bankai with his shikai alone. Hell arc Zaraki is on a different level, only one who might be stronger is our MC Ichigo and Aizen.

I imagine that there is a legitimate reason none of the vizard captains use their masks in combat anymore. If it was an individual choice based on overestimating their abilities or underestimating their opponents, then we could only expect one or two of them to make that mistake; but, for all of them to follow the same pattern seems like too much of a coincidence. It's likely some kind of restriction was placed on them upon returning to the gotei 13, or there was some foreseen issue that came from using their hollow powers further.

I don't get this notion people always seem to have with Bleach characters specifically, they had their moments in their arc and that is enough, truly. You have to consider the fact that these are beings that live thousands of years, you will never see them at their best because they will keep growing, we only get to see them the way we do because a human boy got intangled in their schemes. And not every character needs to win or shine, that's realistic in a war. We've already seen what they can do with hollowfication for the most part, we've seen their individual shikai and most of their bankai, we've gotten to know their characters, flaws and all... What else do we need? Honestly. It's the same with people wanting the Fullbringers to do something when it's not even their war to begin with, and again we've seen pretty much everything they can do and who they are. I don't come across this in other anime communities as much as bleach. Let's be reasonable. Not even Ichigo, the main character, understand much about his own allies which makes sense because they are ancient, and we're following his story. It's why things like Aizen's backstory don't matter and it still works. Yes it would be cool if Yumichika pulled up on Yhwach with some broken Bankai and managed to permanently scar him or something, but it isn't necessarily. The things people want almost feels like fanfiction.

My thoughts and opinion on why the vizards do not use their masks anymore, is due to them being shinigami. So instead of relying on the abilities of a hollow, they use the abilities of a soul reaper.

You actually might be the only one I agree with when it comes to ranking of Gotei 13 Captains. Great video!

The only reason I could think of for them not using their Hollow Masks it maybe cause it burns rapidly through their Spiritual Pressure so combing it with their Bankai likely causes them to burn through their Spiritual Pressure twice as fast.

Sounds like a good try, but when the Vizards were introduced, we were told that the masks have time limits (which seems to vary between them), but that is all. They never indicate that masks consume spirit or anything else--this, and the lack of a reason given for the Vizards no longer using their masks seems to just be some oversight by the author.

I would imagine it being forbidden by the new Central 46. That makes the most sense. Although Mashiro is seen using it in Hisagi’s training, but she isn’t a captain. There have been some Bankai’s that were forbidden as well.

Even if the Hell arc gotei are weak, they still have a lot of strong allies from outside, Urahara squad, the other Vizards, Isshin and if the situation gets really catastrophic then maybe even the Arrancars, Fullbringers and surviving Quincies could join them. And besides all that there are multiple lieutenants that have achieved Bankai as well. We don't know if any of the previous iterations of gotei had such vast assets available in the past

I'd probably put Byakuya over Toshiro tbh since he's an all rounder and Toshiro for the most part uses his zanpaktou, while Byakuya has efficiency in kido and a master in shunpo. Toshiro might be efficient in kido as well but we never really see him use any kido spells iirc.

7:00 I'm not 100% on this bit for Iba's characterization here. Yes, Iba was initially a part of squad 11 and steeped in their traditions and school of thought, but unlike Ikkaku, Iba recognized that staying in squad 11 had no advancement potential, so he left for squad 7, where he presumably would have rounded out his talents in kido and other abilities in order to earn his position as lieutenant. What little we know of Iba's character is that he is ambitious, he takes his job seriously, and he puts in a lot of hard work to reach his goals. The only thing with Iba is that all we get is the implication that he has put in the hours, as everything about him is shown offscreen.

I honestly do not think Kubo does things without reason. He would not have added these new captains without reason. I know he intends to give them big moments in the arc to showcase their abilities. I mean most the other captains we have seen over and over again. Its a good way to inject mystery and anticipation in to the expectedly epic battles to come. I give him the benefit of the doubt

Shunsui is definitely a perfect choice to lead Gotei 13 both in the aftermath of the war and essentially a new era due to the sheer amount of changes he has initiated with reformers in Central 46. He's a pragmatist who knows what needs to be done in battle to save his faction and it's members. Meanwhile out of battle he has realized that the old Gotei 13 is no longer viable and thus he has changed Soul Society's social political state for the first time with his sweeping agenda and cooperative efforts have helped many.

Glad you touched upon byakuya's "feats" that involve him being either heavily assisted by another person, or him fighting someone who is NOT at their full power. I've seen some people rank him stronger than bankai kenpachi 🫠

He 1v3ed vollstandig sternritters in base form then 1 tapped them with a shikai. He killed Gerard twice and fought his resurrected final form while simultaneously having a chit chat with Rukia and Renji. He's clearly stronger than Toshiro and Mayrui and he can be stronger than Kenpachi too, he didn't even use Shukei hakuteiken which is his strongest attack

Byakuya's heavily underrated. I wouldn't say he is strong as bankai kenpachi but stopping Gerard's attack is pretty impressive. Considering Gerard in a weaker form overpowered shikai Zaraki.

Robert was mentally nerfed, and we have loads of examples of how your mental state can extremely buff or nerf you. Nanana is fodder. Byakuya also had to go banaki to deal with sklaverei boosted Robert. He killed Gerard twice WITH HELP, which was part of my point and even DBZimran's. We know almost the entire goeti fought base Gerard before he went into his god size. Renji confirms it himself when he criticizes gerard when asking him how many captains and vice-captains does he think he can take on. Also byakuya took Gerard's head off with the help of toshiro freezing him. Lastly Gerard's "final form" has been argued to be severely weakened also. His body was still composed of light and hasn't yet solidified, and toshiro literally had bro on his legs with them frozen. He couldn't move and was only swinging his hands around Clearly stronger than kid toshiro? I would agree. But clearly stronger than mayuri or especially even kenpachi is a huge no

@@Prinxce3_ kenpachi killed 3 in the first invasion while byakuya got bodied, also with just his sword no extra powers or anything. also didnt toshiro do all the work for him to "kill" gerard the 2nd time and i mean zaraki defeated a very powerful version of gerard on his own not to mention tossing him around like a rag doll.

It would be great if there are ranking numbers, captain name etc when you do videos like ranking characters. Just felt that something is missing from this video, nevertheless, a great breakdown video!!!!

First time I've been this early. Lol

I almost feel like Kubo treats power ups like pokemon treated Mega Evolution, z, moves etc. Cool gimmic for that gen/arc. Then is forgotten about in the next one. That is why we never see the vizards use their hollow power in the fullbringer/tybw.

I remember seeing a video done by Mr. Tomo a while back and I think he made a great point about the end of series Gotei 13 being a very top heavy organization compared to other iterations. Looking at them I am inclined to agree as in terms of raw stats (i.e. strength, speed, reiatsu, etc.), this iteration is dominated by four captains namely Byakuya, Toshiro, Kenpachi, and Shunsui. If you expand the analysis to all round abilities you would have to add Mayuri because even though he is probably one of the least impressive captains in terms of stats, he more than makes up for it with his genius intellect, his ability to adapt and counter his opponents, and tactical brilliance. Outside of that top 1/3 and some change we have three captains who it is fair to wonder if they are even powerful enough to be captains in Isane, Iba, and Lisa. And then you have another 5 who while clearly powerful and capable enough to be captains, at this point I feel we can safely say they would not have a prayer of taking on one of the top five in a one on one fight. The loss of Yamamoto was ultimately a blessing in disguise. Because on the one hand it deprived the Gotei 13 of their strongest Captain by far, keep in mind this is the guy who was so insanely powerful that even Aizen and Ywach did not want to take him head on without having a counter-measure in place. But on the other hand, it cleared the way for Shunsui who was objectively a far superior leader and as TYBW demonstrated quite well that is far more important than individual power and prowess. If we get a Hell arc and assuming everyone lives among the current captains, I think the two with the most potential to shake up any rankings are Toshiro and Kenpachi. Toshiro because it has been hinted he has the potential to one day match or possibly even surpass Yamamoto and Aizen given his youth, his already ridiculous power, and his parallels with Yamamoto and his very likely parallels with Aizen. As for Kenpachi, it was made clear in the battle against Gerard that he was not able to fully access his Bankai's power because his body could not handle the strain.

Kenpachi with a mastered bankai might end up genuinely unbeatable in a straight up fight, like straight up impossible to clash blades with him and not be cut to ribbons no matter how strong you are. He’s already like that for a huge amount of the verse, mastering the power his bankai provides(likely much much more than he was able to access his first use) and being able to think critically would mean the only real shot anyone has against him would be through hella prep time, a direct counter and an ambush. He’d be like Gojo in the sense that certain hax can beat him(All mighty, Ichibe name powers) but unless you’re one of the few with them you’d need to prep out a way to seal him without him being able to go all out. I pray for whoever has to box that mf idc if they from hell or Cthulhu’s bathtub

@@ianharrison5758 Unless you have some hax abilities like Shunsui or most of the Sternritter. Your best bet might be to simply drag out the fight once he unleashes his Bankai. My thought is that Kenpachi likely will always have a limit on how long he can keep his Bankai active due to the sheer strain it puts on his body with the more he taps into it, the shorter that time will be. Of course there is a big question of "if" a given character could survive that long. In terms of raw stats, I am inclined to say Kenpachi is probably the strongest Captain by the end of the series and it is why he is one of the two that I feel have the most potential to shake up anyone's rankings if we get a Hell Arc.

Toshiro's hax to nullify an ability is insane man like DBZ said what if he can negate a zanpaktou and its ability by freezing it what if Toshiro were to fight Zaraki could he freeze Nozarashi and nullify it's ability to cut anything? Might be a stretch, but the possibility is there. And if that's true, then Kubo will have to find a way to nerf him bcs that's just too broken of an ability lol

@@xtalia_z6691 It is definitely a possibility that if we get the Hell Arc that Toshiro could emerge as the strongest captain of the Gotei 13 even if Byakuya, Shunsui, and Kenpachi make it through as strong as ever. Given the parallels he has to Yamamoto and the likely parallels to Aizen, there is no question in my view that he has the most potential of the 13 captains. The real questions in my view are (1) will Kubo allow him to achieve this potential and (2) will it actually mean anything? Kubo was very bipolar in his writing for a lot of the characters and Toshiro was definitely one of them in my opinion. It often reminded me of how Kishimoto wrote Sakura in Naruto though it never got quite that bad hence why I call it "the Sakura effect" and not "the Hitsugaya effect", "the Komomura effect", or "the Shinji effect".

Oh I certainly see some flashbacks pertaining to the royal guards training some of these people

I have trouble putting Hitsugaya and his unmastered Adult form over Byakuya's power boost from the Royal Guard. Add to that, Byakuya was far more experienced and a balanced fighter overall. Theoretically, Adult Toshiro is broken, but Byakuya post Royal Guard True Bankai wouldn't be? I'd have to slide Toshiro below Byakuya right now. Mayuri being 3...I mean, I get it because of his scientific strategies. But we all know by the standards of raw power, he's not even top 7? But I'm fine with him being 3. Many people will disagree with Kyoraku being number 1...But I slide him into the Mayuri category. We know Kenpachi is the strongest BY FAR. But Kyoraku still has the combat experience, the ruthlessness, and a potential bankai that can enact more than one play. When people talk about Act 3 and how many people will defeat him, Kyoraku entered Act 3 while already quite exhausted, which decreases his reiatsu. Think of how True Shikai Ichigo was seemingly caught off guard by the release of Kyoraku's bankai and again, this is after Shunsui has taken significant damage from Lille. I don't think wound sharing in Act 1 acts as an instant heal. AND HE SURVIVED Lille after HOW MANY BOOSTS LILLE GOT? Shunsui should at least be named "most durable" or something because boy can he take some damage and STILL survive. Shunsui takes hits as good as your favorite joke character. That being said, he was robbed by Kubo in Theater Suicide and here's hoping that is cleaned up in Cour 3.

The reason for that is because byakuya relied on adult hitsugaya. He was simply standing there against gerard menawhile they only stand a chance when hitsugaya showed his true form.

Kenpachi is the strongest but not by far.

Preety solid rankings. I will personally place Toushiro at 3, Byakuya at 4 and Mayuri at 5. My reasoning behind that is Mayuri's true power lies in his prep time much like Batman, but if a battle starts and he has no time to prepare he will not perform nearly as well as if he has time to prepare beforehand, unlike the other 2. As for the reasoning behind Toushiro being 3 is for the the points you have already said and the fact (more like a hint) from the current Captain Commander is that not now but in around 100 years Toushiro will probably surpass him. i doubt the manga will go that further in, but Hitsugaya is like the opposite of Yamamoto, strongest fire zanpakuto> strongest Ice Zanpakuto. Not to mention Toushiro has said multiple times that he can't control his power very good and is always holding back because it may harm everyone around him, simillar to how Yamamoto was harming everthing when he released his bankai.

Imagine putting Kensei above Soifon, despite her being able to do everything his bankai does - without even going Bankai!

That's the thing about Mayuri, with prep, and his sharp intellect, he could almost beat anyone in the Bleach verse, but in terms of strength and raw power, he'd barely crack the top ten of this list.

Always been a fan of Shunsui ever since we first saw Chad step into his territory in SS arc.

At least Isané released "Itégumo", and we got to see the shikai shape AND the name/release. Conversely, despite there being SEVERAL points throughout the anime and 4 movies where Iba's shikai/bankai could meaningfully be released. He either doesn't, or it's released offscreen. Kubo HAS to be keeping it a secret, for whatever reason. His initial attack on Ayon could've been his moment, not killing the beast, but maybe distracting it, while Yamamoto practices his "Kirioroshi" (pear-splitter) cut.

Byakuya's Bankai was able to block the strongest version of Gerard while talking to Renji and Rukia. BASE Byakuya was blocking attacks from volstandig Robert and volstandig Candice. Gerard cannot be stopped by Ice. Byakuya didn't use Senkei earlier because he knew that injuring Gerard would only make him bigger so he and Toshiro came up with a plan. Both Byakuya and Toshiro assisted each other. Toshiro's Bankai lacks killing power that's why he needed Byakuya's attack to finish him off and Byakuya needed someone to distract Gerard to use Senkei. To be fair, they both needed each other to fight Gerard, it's a fact.

Byakuya blocking the final form of geratd is inconsistent and comes from a time where kubo clearly wanted to get rid of gerard. When byakuya tried the 2 way move with kid hitsugaya, base gerard easily swatted away senbonbonzakura kageyoshi, showing the inconsistency. Them needing each other doenst mean they're equal. Zaraki needed them too doesn't mean all 3 r equal. Byakuya attacked a weakened, immobile, abd an off guard gerard in a 3v1. It's not comparable to toshiro holding gerard back on his own foe a bit of time. Adult toshiro would o e shot Candace and robert at the same time.

@@ghhbpolo Nope Gerard was not weakened, Gerard was immune to ice until the Quincy cross in his head was destroyed. He Broke out of Adult Toshiro's ice multiple times. Adult Toshiro was only able to fully freeze and shatter Gerard's lower half after Byakuya destroyed his head.

@@viskj they fought offscreen. That clearly shows kubo wanted to get rid of gerard. Do u know how easy it is to just not draw a character for a few chapters and then show them holding their own later? He was weakened. U can see clear damage on him from toshiros ice. Also, gerard wasn't immune. He was just strong enough to break out. No, it wasn't just gerards bottom. At the end of bleach ch 671, we can see ice covering gerards top as well. And in 672, we see gerards top being covered in ice connecting to the head that was just taken off.

From the OG Thirteen Court Guards that fought Yhwach to the Hell Arc Thirteen Court Guards. When the Hell Arc drops, we need to see some of them in action like Isane, Tetsuzaimon and Lisa in action has captains of their respective squads.

Hitsugaya is debatably stronger than Yama, not Aizen tho, and Kenpachi's hax come from his immense strenght, reiatsu, physical capabilities and his shikai/bankai that can cut anything

Doesn't rlly matter. Zarakis division wins. Zarakis the strongest captain by a mile. Yumichika solos any 3rd seat and their avg seated officers r more battle focused than other divusions.

I had thought the vizards hadn’t used their hollow masks due to it seemingly exhausting the users. It seemed as though the more effort they put in while using their masks, the more unpredictably rapid their masks would break and more drained they would be. They may have been trying to preserve energy due to the ongoing war they were in the middle of at the time..

Exhausting seems more effective than being dumb. Love and rose were also easily taking offand putting g on the masks against starrk.

I cannot agree with this and i usually love your vids. But, Soifon is stronger than Rose and Kensei, Fully master Shunko is just to strong for them just like Mask was. Shinji is over Rukia. Even after 10 years skip, i do not see Rukia mastering her bankai enough to make up for the experience advantage Shinji has. Maybe after 50 years. Mayuri 5 and byakuya 3 .Bykuya has speed, power, and cunning i cannot see him bested by Mayuri or Toshiro at least for now. As for number 1 i am sorry but Kenpachi is just stronger. He survived the void of space, he can survive Shunsui bankai as well. Remember, Kid Kenpachi! Kid!!! bested prime Unohana and i see Shunsui as comparable in strength with her, altough probably stronger. Nevertheless, Kenpachi right now is a beast.

Hitsugiya being above Byakuya or Rukia for that matter; is crazy. He’s certainly not weak, but I think Byakuya wins the majority of the time versus him. But still a great video as always DBZ!

@@shahsaad3357byakuya was causally blocking attacks from Gerard strongest form, I’d say that feat alone is pretty impressive, and also hitsuguya hacks are nice but I can’t say they’d work against shinigami with higher spiritual pressure than him bc if it did that would make him number 1 stronger than aizen and ichigo also. Another example of byakuya being stronger would be when Gerard grabbed adult toshiro he froze and said you can’t touch me in this form without instant freezing but byakuya literally held up adult toshiro without freezing, it’s similar to how he was able told hold rukia hand while she was at absolute 0.

Regarding the discussion of the vizard captains, I wish it had been explored more why they don’t use their masks because there’s some interesting theories on why. I don’t think it’s confirmed anywhere, but I think it’s at least a little implied that a condition of their reinstatement into the Gotei 13 is that they are banned from hollowfication. It’s definitely something Yamamoto would have been against, and could have factored into why some of the vizards didn’t come back. I imagine they were all offered a spot back in under that condition, and some of them basically said “no you left us for dead because of what we were turned into, and now you want us back as long as we pretend it never happened and we’re not different? Screw off”. The only time we see any of them hollowfy before the Gerard fight is Mashiro when she trains Shuhei. That being said, it would have been cooler if one of Shunsui’s first things during the second invasion, his first time in command, to order them to use their hollowfication. It would further reinforce the difference between Shunsui and Yamamoto, in line with Shunsui’s later action to do whatever is necessary and damn tradition or rules. It also would have been better I think to give the vizard captains their spotlight at the middle of the second invasion. At first nobody knows hollowfication prevents bankai plundering, so everyone is trying to figure out how to fight without their strongest powers. Urahara could have called ahead, said he’s working on it and everyone will be fine soon but in the meantime, the vizard captains are already immune to the bankai plundering. Give them their chance to be the only hope for a bit. They can still lose, the other captains can still show off their alternative techniques, but we don’t end up with two captains coming to the lieutenants’ rescue, losing while holding back additional power we know they have, for no reason because Renji shows up to save the lieutenants and the captains anyway. Better to have given them their own fights focused on their being the only ones able to safely use bankai, and either streamline the Mask fight so Renji shows up to save the lieutenants or if you’re set on the captains losing to Mask then you could at least explain it by them being battle fatigued from their earlier fights or their hollow masks expiring too quickly due to their prior use. There’s a lot of underutilization with the vizards in the final arc. When I read the manga reveal of why Ichigo’s bankai couldn’t be stolen, my first thought was “wait we have these captains who should be equally as immune, this is their time to shine”. Having Urahara immediately sandle-hat ex machina magic pills to completely end any implications of the bankai medallions just felt too quick and forced. It was such a big deal for everyone to figure out how to fight without bankai only to be rendered meaningless immediately into the second invasion. At least let the vizard captains hold the line for a little while and make Urahara take longer to be able to synthesize and distribute the pills or something.

You made good arguments for toshiro and scaling to bankai kenpachi damaged gerard + volstandig so you could scale true bankai to or above kenpachi but his useability of it requires time and maturity which i understand why you placed him there. Toshiro would be 1 or 2 if he masters it, not quite sure how you scaled shunsui above bankai kenpachi or even shikai kenpachi.... when it's directly stated shunsui is equivocal to byakuya in CFYOW. It's even stated only ichigo, kenpachi and aizen can beat hikone/ikomikidomoe, not shunsui. So it's clear as day whos the strongest. So quite a huge error on your part there. And if you placed shunsui above byakuya then by that statement toshiro is above shunsui because he's relative to byakuya. I don't think bankai toshiro can beat bankai shunsui, i absolutely know true bankai would slap bankai shunsui though but getting there is the problem. I'd place, (who'd win in a fight) 1) Kenpachi 2) Shunsui/Toshiro 3) Toshiro/mayuri 4) Mayuri although it's debatable between mayuri and toshiro, obviously toshiro is the better fighter, faster, stronger, better abilities but mayuri dominates in hax and intelligence. Ofcourse mayuri gets destroyed by true bankai toshiro no question since he can negate anything so long as they're weaker than him or even stronger like with gerard but it's effects dont last long since gerard still negated his ability. True bankai toshiro also destroys shunsui with ease. Strongest, (max power level shown) 1) Kenpachi/Toshiro 2) Toshiro 3) Shunsui 4) Byakuya

Yamma n kenpachi are probably the strongest pure soul reaper ppl have ever seen. I’m really interested in mayuri tho he’s always evolving and underrated fighter.

@@theoutkast736 yama? Yama got surpassed ages ago. Yama scales to base yhwach minimum, we know royd is 70% power of base yhwach and Yama somewhat struggled which implies relative. Base yhwach gets destroyed by shikai ichibei. Shikai Ichibei > bankai Yama ≈ base yhwach (cour 1) Shikai Ichigo + hollow horn damaged SK and mimihagi amped yhwach (no almighty) which gave yhwach universal amps in power putting him far above Ichibei. Bankai Ginjo in CFYOW was stated to fire a getsuga that rivalled ichigos one he used on yhwach in bankai in TYBW. Which means ginjo can reach that level once atleast. Ginjo was stated to only put up a good fight against hikone at almost max power. So just true shikai ichigo scales above bankai yama with ease. And thus so does aizen, kenpachi and therefore Toshiro due to gerard scaling. I know it’s hard to say anyone is above Yama but let’s phrase it this way because people think Yama is automatically the strongest, Do you think bankai Yama could touch SK + mimihagi amped yhwach? After not even one shotting a 70% power yhwach. Yhwach went from scaling to Yama being planetary to being Universal, Yamamoto isn’t even touching him and yhwach said ichigos energy was exceptional and he had no room for error. While true, that didn’t apply to true bankai Toshiro since it’s a last ditch effort and CFYOW is only 6 months after so I don’t think Toshiro can use it easily. Also it was stated that kenpachi, ichigo and aizen could beat hikone max power and kenpachi only used his shikai after hikone transformed so it’s implied that his shikai is enough and shunsui wasn’t even comparable so we know shunsui is below shikai kenpachi in CFYOW!. Toshiro true bankai scales above shikai kenpachi easily due to gerard feats such as, shikai kenpachi getting fodderised by gerard such that only bankai kenpachi could do anything. He destroyed gerard, which kept amping gerard to bankai kenpachi and then kenpachi was put down by his own power and gerard further amped w volstandig, Toshiro then negs gerard by cutting hoffnung in half and negating its abilities which shikai kenpachi could only chip. So we know true bankai Toshiro > Shikai Kenpachi and we can say, True bankai Toshiro ≈ bankai Kenpachi (TYBW) Mayuri isn’t really a “fighter”. He had to use sensors against Toshiro in close combat. We also saw zombie bankai Toshiro one shot him in shikai many times, ofcourse mayuri outsmarted Toshiro but zombies are weaker and slower and giselle is controlling him. So I would argue Bankai Toshiro > bankai mayuri TYBW if he kept his distance and played it tactically. Like spamming attacks from range. Mayuri doesn’t really have any defence either and his bankai isn’t really anything to talk about because Toshiro can just neg it using ice.

Everyone knows shinsui would body byakuya. Shinsui's bankai is basically hax. He beat a vollstanding lille who will body half of the former gotei 13

@@oreajay3882 actually I was being generous, In CFYOW, it was noted that Tokinada's spiritual pressure was on par with Byakuya and Yoruichi. And that the only ones in the Valley of Screams battle that had higher spiritual pressure were Kenpachi, Hikone, Aura, and Ginjo. Meaning Shunsui, who was there, does not have higher spiritual pressure than Byakuya. He didn’t beat volstandig Lille. Byakuya is stronger than more than half of the former gotei.

Your original statement said stronger which was wrong. He just has equal or a little more reatsu. Shinsui's ability is hax and his mind. He's one of the most strategic fighters in bleach. And he did beat vollstanding. His immortality is the biggest asspull in that fight. He go his head exploded and then that was it. There is no way byakuya survives against shinsui who aizen himself respects Btw shinsui is stronger than all the other gotei 13 bar Yamamoto until we actually see feats. There's a reason the strongest characters usually have crazy hax. His bankai with four stages, same as Yama. Says a lot

It'll be funny to have a plot twist around Kotetsu Isane in future though.

We also have to remember this Gotei 13 has powerful Lieutenants actually paired with their Captains. Like Renji easily being able to be a High Captain tier character. Or individuals like Ikkaku, Hisagi, Mashiro, Nemu, Nanao, Rangiku, and even Kira being mid to low Captain tier.

Did this guy really put Rukia above Soifon and Shinji?.. And placed Kensei and Rose above anyone else than Iba with Isane?.. I get it, he's biased against certain characters but I didn't think he could glaze anyone more than he does Urahara.

Maryui is definitely weaker than byakuya by a lot reason The reason I say this is because in can't fear your own world. They say that byakuya woukd be the next in line to be captain if shunsui falls.

Byakuya being next in line just means he's more fitting for the role, not the strongest. Toshiros too inexperienced and zarakis just dumb. Mayuri is literally insane

Toshiro (ability hacks, already had strong feats) 4. Mayuri (intelligence/plot armour hacks, solo'd Szayel and Pernida) 3. Byakuya (Noble family, insanely high potential, power boost from Royal Guard) 2. Zaraki (potential, captain without shikai or bankai, links to hell and unlimited power) 1. Shunsui (most experience, most cunning, high reiatsu - his bankai has an AOE effect, Toshiro needs 100 years to surpass Shunsui, Captain Commander, very strong feats, solo'd #1 Espada Stark using only Shikai and Lille Barro with some small help from Nanao)

The fact the sternritters and yhwach included didn’t designate mayuri a threat that should be annihilated during their first attack just shows their incompetence

Byakuya is stronger than Mayrui and Toshiro tho, he didn't use his strongest attack in this arc which is shukei hakuteiken. And Byakuya still ran a 1v3 with the sternritters in their vollstandig while he himself was in base for a while easily. So it doesn't really matter if they where nerfed in some way becuz Byakuya is still on a different level

And he was wearing a special cloak that was protecting him from direct hit by U and L schrifts. And Candice had been fighting for a while and went through multiple injuries long before entering a fight with him. And he was easily pierced once Pepe managed to get a hit on him. So by your logic, Pepe is on a different level as well.

@Prinxce3_ byakuya 1v3 regular sternritters is the irrelevant feat because all of the base elite sternritters can pretty much solo at least 10 of the on their own due to aushwhalen. Byakuya did his final move on a weakened and immobile gerard with a sneak attack. In addition he had his senbonzakura kageyoshi swatted away by base gerard earlier on. Toshiro could easily stop attacks from vollstanding gerard whereas a miracle amped base gerard defeated shikai zaraki. Toshiro then held gerard back on his own for a bit.

Interesting that a 3rd possible Ice user will be in the Hell arc.

I believe it has nothing to do with sealing abilities rather a choice just as ekaku refuses to use bankai the visors choose not to use their masks because they would rather fight and die as Soul Reapers.

For Tetsuzaemon Iba, isn't the dialogue between him and Ikkaku during the Ichigo Vs Byakuya fight all about how Iba strived to be lieutenant, so he got good at Kidō? He's shown proficiency in the manga/anime as well.

I agree with the vast majority of your list, but it doesn't fully represent the title "WEAKEST TO STRONGEST" because Zarakai is undoubtedly much stronger than even Shunsui. Strongest means simply put them in 1 cage and who gets out? Zarakai would.

The Kampachi placement feels pretty unearned, because he’s definitely nowhere near that in the war, and even with statements about him being the strongest Shinigami that can’t literally mean in power, when ichigo is always referred to has a Shinigami The only argument I could see is with the kid

I think what also solidifies Kyoraku standing at the top for me is that anytime he's had to engage anybody in combat he's never been Lacking. If someone is clearly stronger they'd probably defeat him but Kyoraku will make a fight out of it. When Kyoraku and Ukitake were being confronted by Yamamoto in the Soul Society arc he's the first one to react to Yamamoto's presence when they were trying to outpace him. Even better he was the first to begin Flash Step and was lowkey being held back by Ise and Ukitake. When Stark was fighting Kyoraku Stark gad a really good showing and demonstrated that he's above Kyoraku's weight class. But when Kyoraku was fighting him solo he was still right there with Stark being a scrappy prick. Even with Love, Ukitake, and the guy with the starfro showing up to assist Kyoraku was still very competitive and not really slowing down. Kyoraku may not be the strongest but he's a really scrappy head hunter

There's no way you read CFYOW and have Zaraki n2. Kenpachi is n1 by far

good ranking pretty similar to mine but tosh above mayuri and kenpachi above the head captain+i dont think tosh would be clashing with even captain aizen

One day we may get an Arc in Bleach where the Vizar let loose and it'll be an insanely enjoyable experience for the fanbase. Maybe!

Don't forget to become a capitan you need to have achieved Bankai , so either be stupidly strong as Kempachi , but he is still alive and well so Kubo might have to do a little brainstorming to give characters like Iba , Isane , Lisa , a Bankai reveal in chp.2 of the Hell Arc to be as belevable as a capitan can be .

Ikaku, Hisagi, Renji these guys could have voted for the Captain post but they stayed lutenent. Wants to see them doing great in upcoming arcs

Ikkaku would have been an overall weak captain, below even Komamura without his clan's secret technique. Sure, he's an experienced leader, he's often in charge as Kenpachi and Yachiru often go for walks and get lost, but in terms of combat ability, he's lacking. Even with his Bankai intact he'd still rely solely on brute strength to win a fight, that's fine for a lieutenant, but as a captain, you need an insane strength to overcome an opponent with versatile abilities. As a proud member of Squad 11 he looks down on kido and likely never practised it, I don't remember seing above average shunpô feats from him, he might be decent at hakuda but nothing that stands out. If a captain specializes in one form of fighting, that person must be Kenpachi level for strength or Aizen level for the rest, dead weight otherwise. Ikkaku is fine as a lieutenant. Especially now that his Bankai is crippled.

IDK if this question has been asked before but what will happen when Ichigo dies? Either from old age or in combat. We know about the cycle of rebirth but we also just learned that when a soul reaper of captain-level strength dies a ritual happens that removes them from the cycle. So Ichigo being far beyond captain level and being Soul Reaper, Human, and Quincy would he enter the cycle of rebirth or not?
