A friend of over 20 years said to me via email get with the program and off with the snail mail! He said he didn't care about my handwritten or hand-painted cards. So I have dropped him from my Friendship Circle and I no longer wish him happy birthday or holidays with my art. I feel sorry for him. I also feel sorry for the kids of today not taught how to read cursive writing! Beautiful work as always with your comforting videos and beautiful colors used! Love it💜☕

I’m a late-starter newbie, I’m having to really FORCE myself to use/abuse a book this way 🤣 It helps that to start me off I have rescued 3 books from a charity shop, that were going to landfill ….. 😄 Btw - really helps that you call it restructuring rather than destroying ….. 👍👍 Much better mind-set 👍👍

My imagination is given full reign when I watch your chanel. usually I fully remain the silent audience, today I share.. your little square boxes reminded me of cars in their parking spaces. I wondered what they would look like if the boxes had wheels attached and parking space signs around the border, so after I've finished viewing your beautiful artistict creation, I will pull an old book to pieces and use my gelato collection together with my doodling pens. I missed this video some how but it popped up just at a great moment. My color pallettes always seem to unwittingly exclude these gorgeous tones you have in this pallette. Must say your videos are always so calming and always give me a gentle nudge to try creating something new. So i will go locate my WC pencils and have a go at giving a few old book pages a face lift. Your suggestion of Hop Scotch absolutely took me back 60 years to times when i visited my Grandmother McCracken. I grew up on a farm which i loved but as the only lass amongst bunches of "smelly boys"😉 I cherished summer visits to Grands house, all on my own, with her to myself for the weekend. I hop scotched on her tiny walkway dodging through her garden and under what I was certain must be the worlds most beautiful and fun to climb, apricot tree. Flowers like johnny jump ups and primroses, poppies in the tones of your pallette. Color bloomed prolific amongst plants of courgettes, tomatoes and other delicious veggies and herbs. every inch of garden soil except my hop scotch path was full of beauty and fragrances that meant i had safe refuge in her beautiful Olde english style garden! Have a beautiful day.

I love how you show us the papers by tapping the pages to show us the thickness in the paper your information is so easy to understand. You are a Great teacher and you are inspiring me to make more art. I just love your videos each one is such a blessing to watch. I have wanted to follow someone who is able to explain the process of the art that is being made. I buy so many supplies because they are beautiful but then get stuck not knowing what to do but then I find you and you just make it make so easy to understand. I can't wait to see what you do next.

I finished a huge junk journal and now I'll have some time to try painting I'm a watercolor artist that has just can't seem to do it anymore the way I do this to him so I'm going to try some of her exercises. When I saw your next project of journaling on a book, it reminded me of my Mom repurposing my Dad's old study books he used in the military. She clipped and added recipes she liked onto them. Sometimes my Dad's handwriting peeked through the back. I love just looking at that book. Thanks for the ideas.

Happy New year 💛 I have some books saved to use, but when we were small my mum read to us every night, mostly Enid Blyton and passed on her love and respect for books, so I feel a lot of of hesitation before ripping a page out or marking a page even. So I started altering supermarket magazines to get a feel for it first. Enjoyed this simple and satisfying layout. Thank you kim x

Jody I don't know how to thank you enough. I have done watercolor for many many years but I hit a snag after a long time illness and just couldn't get back to it and so I gave it up and spawn junk journaling instead. But I really do miss my watercolors and I watch CC too but I always felt just a little bit overwhelmed although I loved her work and I even bought the gold paint but watching your video this gave me confidence I wished I could show you what I did after watching it just made me feel so good and I can't thank you enough

I never knew about gesso until I saw my first video on mixed media never realizing what a great primer it is. Also a great cover up if needed. It is a beautiful white and I also have gesso in black. I'd like to use them both for background splatters adding a little bit of water to each. I love the metallics used👍💕☕

I have received my new journals and I will start on September 21 with this autumn journal. I will certainly try the doudels, maybe tomorrow. I really like the note for an old book. I don't have anything like this yet, but if I would come across this then I am thinking of using it on a page and maybe with a quote. nice idea what do you think.

I like that grid stamp. I get a similar result by using burlap, which besides using flat, I can use scrunched up. 😁 Polymer clay rubber texture sheets are awesome stamps... 3x5 and 4x6 usually.

@@joiedefi bunched up cheese cloth makes an awesome stamp too. You can also put cheese cloth over wet paint or ink. When it dries the cloth pattern is left behind. 😁 Burlap does that too of course

Hi there, just found you and loving the work you do. Your voice is so clear and calm and its a pleasure to learn from you. About the books, I feel very bad and wasteful when using them. Having been brought up to respect books and to never deface them in any way, I found even highlighting study books difficult. What gives me hope from my aversion is seeing the beautiful final results you have and find that encouraging. I now welcome my lessons and see them as therapy, assisting me with my aversion. Thank you so much for your reply. Thought you'd like to know what I will be doing with your inspiration today. I have been asked by my niece to write some of the stories I have told over the years about her granny and grandpa (my mum and dad). Stories she would like to pass down to her daughter but fears they will be lost over time. I wasn't quite sure how I would present them so they wouldn't appear boring. I wanted them to be interesting and colourful, so finding you and your beautiful ideas have been so timely. Now for the first time I'm looking forward to starting and the stories begin.
