It is adviced , that when you connect last cable to battery, before you do it, you should use resistor or car lamb series with the cable end and a battery terminal, because that way inverter capasitors that hold charge get loaded with control charge rate rather then full plast at once. And when you turn on the inverter, there should be no load connected, what is active to draw current and working device.

Maybe I'm missing this because of a power factor but I'm trying to determine if appliances running at 220v, 50 Hz would allow lower amp consumption that appliances that run on 110, 60 Hz. I'm from the US but working overseas where 220/50 is common. If I buy some appliances here, I'd like to be able to use them in my Overland rig when I get to the US. These items are minor of course (cookers and grills) but if they run more efficiently than items sold in the US then why not ship them back.

I'm getting a 2023 motor coach. It has 1 200 watt solar panel, a 1000 watt inverter , a dual controller what ever that is and 2 100 AH AGM batteries. I plan to up grade the inverter to 2000 or 3000 but initially would like to upgrade to a 200 or 300 AH lithium battery, can I just drop a lithium in with my current equipment ?

Well... Maybe I'm wrong but that looks like 4-6 gauge possibly aluminum braid line... 3000watts from 12 volts is gonna draw hundreds of amps... 300-350 max . They will not handle that many on them cables... Think I you need like a 1/0 or vigger

Running a 3000W inverter on a 200Ah battery is not advisable, the minimum recommended battery capacity for a 12V/3000W inverter is 400Ah.

James, your battery has a max discharge rate of x, you will find this information with the documentation that came with your battery or on their website. Assuming you use your 3000W inverter and run loads at only 80% (200A) of rated capacity, you are drawing more than the battery can deliver at a sustained discharge rate and if your battery has a battery management system (BMS) built in, the battery would shut down to protect itself. Your battery does not look like a smart battery, so an external BMS may be required, I am not familiar with this brand. In essence what I am saying is that your battery cannot run at 3000W load (250+A). You would need to add a second or third battery (the exact same type and rating MUST be used) in parallel to allow your inverter to run efficiently and not overload the batteries. In addition, those cables are way to small to handle the discharge currents we are talking about, they would be burning in no time because there is no fuse between the battery and the inverter, you MUST have a fuse on every correctly sized cable (min 95mm2 for a 3000W inverter), located between the source and the load . Fuses should be close to the source/battery. I would not recommend these batteries for a 3000W inverter, there are much better quality batteries that can perform better, but they come a cost, you get what you pay for.

The inverter doesn't charge the battery, the battery supplies power to the inverter. Charging from the inverter creates a potentially dangerous loop situation, besides that would be extremely inefficient due to power losses from the inverter.

You have to disconect the battery and wait 30 min. before checking it's true voltage

A dedicated battery charger for lithium batteries or a power supply. You can control the voltage. It is preferable that the current be at least 20 amps
