HELLO. This trial is great. Everybody is bothered from rectifier and voltage regulator, it sound like protection from malfunction but it works not to get big energy from alternator. Your trial is a breakthrough. If you turn the pulley faster by machine, this alternator can have much more voltage and current. I was encouraged.Thank you!

Hi Mr Electron...I am working on projects myself and have found your content very useful. I was wondering tho : could a joule thief circuit be used to excite the alternator ??..Joule thief can provide all kinds of voltages at high frequency (low amps?)and would be interesting to find out if it could work..Many Thanks to you..

A quick way to drill holes with a consistent set depth, 1: find the desired depth 2: drill first hole to depth then stop drilling 3: with the drill bit stopped and in the hole, wrap some masking tape around the drill bit's circumference at the surface of the material being drilled 4: back the bit out of the hole and start drilling the other holes. The masking tape is easily removable, won't damage the bit and clean up is a breeze. Heat and tapping compounds might cause the tape to melt or slide off so you might want to think about using different types of tape or permanent markers/paint to mark the depth on the bit.

Lepiej było by wyprodukować osobno talerz z magnesami i talerz z cewkami. Lepsze chłodzenie prostsza konstrukcja. Język Polski. Też warto się go nauczyć

There is a limit as to how much thicker a wire can be as the current is not determined by the thickness of the wire but by the strength of the magnets, so if your magnets can only produce 1 amp then it does not matter if you have 1mm dimeter wire or 2mm thick wire it will only produce 1 amp or may be just a tiny fraction more due to the resistance to 1 amp current flowing through the wires, Power Generation is the product of the strength of magnetic field and speed of rotation, voltage is proportional to number of turns and strength of the magnets and the speed of the rotor. And nothing comes out of nothing, so if you wanted more power then you also need more input power to spin, (Torque)

Car alternators need to spin at very high revs to make even just 12 Volts. While on the car they will be 'geared up' and be running at 2 or 3 times the speed of the engine. We are talking 10 to 20 thousand rpm - just to get 12 Volts A much better conversion would have been to leave the brushes and the rotor coil intact and power it from a single diode connected from the output of the stator coil. This would be after removing the original stator coils, noting how it was wound, then re-winding it with some much thinner wire. This will give more volts and at lower rpm - making the resulting generator much more useful. Rewind it as was, as a star connected 3-phase and connect your diode from one of the phases and back to the centre point of the star. Or make a 3-phase bridge if you prefer. It will self-excite and the existing rotor coil will make a much stronger magnet than the permanent magnets ever could - giving you greater output. Get as much wire into the stator as possible, every extra turn is worth more volts Do not be greedy and expect mega mega output. For a machine/device like that, self-excited as it will be, do not *ever* hope for more than 200 Watts - but at least it will give measurable volts and useful power if built into a wind turbine.

The set of windings from which power comes is THE STATOR as the winding is stationary. You won't get the power from this as you would with an excited rotor winding and you can't control the output either.

hi .actually the magnetic field of alternators are not normally constant and it changes according to the energy consumption . if consumption becomes high so the magnetic field will be higher to keep output voltage in range . i can guess that these small magnets can not give more than 20 % of that alternators energy capacity .

The reason you hammered it(which did the rotor no favors at all) was that you had the rear bearing come out with the rotor which it should not do. You should have removed the bearing, cleaned the rotor, install the bearing into the back case, then install the rotor(after lubing the shaft in the bearing area.

Well how you solve problem over charging lead acid baterrys? Do you add external voltage regulator? What wuld hapen if you use bouth magnets and field coil together? Wuld they cancel ich other out as in magnetic field?
