125 GALLON AQUARIUM CLEANING & MAKEOVER!
In this video we’re cleaning this 125 gallon freshwater aquarium. It’s long overdue, we’re also giving this tank a facelift. Lol. This tank has gone through changes over the past 3yrs. The driftwood in this tank has been leeching out tannins like crazy, so it’s time to get it out of there. This tank is home to my Central American cichlids. My albino oscar, red Devil, red texas and a few catfish. This tank is pretty much fully stocked, if you have any questions about the fish or the setup, don’t hesitate to drop them down below in comment section. If you’re new to the channel, consider subscribing to the channel. Thank you for your support.

Nice
Great video by the way I want to do a above the tank sump as well I kinda want to do a boujee one tho . Since it’s going to be posted in the living room . After I get the background I gotta buy sand and get the filters an possibly do a overhead sump. I wanted to get a wood canopy it’s like I got so many ideas but money don’t grow on trees so I’m going with budget friendly measures .
Don't be afraid to do a larger water change, that was a small one for sure, clear up your water that way .

My tank is crystal clear and I don’t do extremely large water changes. Just not how I like to do things, shocks the fish way too much for my liking.
Great video again! I'm glad you had a towel to dry your hands just to put them back into the tank. LoL 😂
@TheFishCorner

The towel is the best way to prevent water from dripping all over the carpet. Even if your hands are going back in the water.
Dam up early good shit I'll watch the rest after work

great video mate, I'm gonna have to have an over the top sump filter. I nearly got a tidal HOB 110 but can't see the point as with the design you have you can fit so much mechanical and bio media in there.

First time watcher today. Watched your 240 upgrade. The above tank sump is an interesting concept. How did you size it and what changes has it done to your water quality and time between water. filter changes ?

I be scared to use rocks, I’m still waiting for my rocklike 3d background. Was told that it got shipped off last month with tracking number in 2 boxes . Only thing is the holidays got usps going mainie so with that being said I have a empty 125 sitting in my living room dry till then. I honestly can’t wait but I figure since it’s my first big tank and background I can wait to do it right the first time
How is the stand holding up so far? Any issues?

You ever consider putting plants up top in the flower pots as part of filtration? I'm a saltwater guy so idk much about freshwater so just curious. All I have freshwater wise is a a little beta tank with some plants in it. 😅
@TheFishCorner

Yea, I actually had my tanks like that for a long time but when I moved tanks around I removed the plants. In the future I’ll do it again.
Hello, what are ORP readings on your tanks (Salt and Freshwater)?
Another dope video homie. Where do you get that poly fill from, I can’t Find it anywhere?

cleveland! carsons aquatics has that same stand and he said he doesnt use it because it collapses into itself people told him, watch his video "buying my biggest aquarium yet" and at the 9:50 marks he talks about it, idk how old yours is but it looks like the same one

What’s up! Okay I’ll check it out. And I’ve heard stories about these stands as well but the owners have to take some responsibility in the collapsing. They don’t do with with moisture damage. So it’s very important to make sure to keep the stands dry. Also, you can’t be moving these stands around once they’re set up. They’re very cheaply made but will hold up for years. I’ve had mines for 3yrs. I only had to beef up the bottom of one stand. In the future I plan to make stands for them. It just makes more sense.
Can you raise your water level up in the sumps above tank? I'm just trying to help. Don't mind me.
@TheFishCorner
2 жыл бұрын
Nope. That’s it.
wassup Cleveland how long have you had this 125 the stands ok? I’m about to buy the kit
@TheFishCorner
2 жыл бұрын
Yo, what’s good. I’ve had these 125’s for about 3yrs. The stands are still good. When I moved them 9 months ago, I did beef up one of the stands. The other didn’t need it. I will say this about the stands, as long as they stand dry, the stand will last.
How's your stand holding up after a year of having? I'm thinking of getting the same tank setup from petsmart. I see lot of comments on stand not that good.
@TheFishCorner
Жыл бұрын
I actually built stands bro. But I didn’t have any issue with the stand just make sure not to let it get too wet. That’s the main cause of failure.
What kind of water are you using?? Water conditioner after a fill up? Am I correct?
@TheFishCorner
2 жыл бұрын
I’m using tap water. And yep, conditioner after the fill up. If I would have done a 25% water change, I wouldn’t have used the water conditioner.
What kind of hose u use? Thanks

How’s that stand and tank holding up. Been seeing bad reviews on it

Chemi pure blue will get rid of the tannins
@TheFishCorner

Removing the driftwood and removing the tannins with water changes over time is the key 🔑 My tank has been crystal clear ever since I removed the wood and did the cleaning. That chemi pure shouldn’t be the go to.
