Never in my life would I have thought I would enjoy watching someone dig in an outhouse pit. Love your videos.
Never get tired of watching this..every pit is a whole new game...
Yet another great video! Tom & Jake, you guys are amazing! ❤
Glad to see you didn't hold the antique pitcher by the handle. Any antique glass/ceramic should only be held from the bottom. Back in the day they didn't attach the handles very well or the joints have become weak over time.
It would be interesting if you would do a full video explaining styles and tops and how you identify them. For instance we hear you say dandy, mikado, shoo-fly, picnic, coffin…what is the difference? And tops, what signifies blob, tooled, etc. And show the differences.
OK, i'll ask again Mr Askjem, would you mind showing us your personal collection? We know you don't keep all the bottles and stuff you excavate, but you must have a heck of collection. Cheers from Canada.

I agree I would like to see also.

Ok, how about you stop asking about his PERSONAL collection? If he'd wanted to share that, he would have. You are not the first to ask, and he has no obligation to invite you or any other stranger into his personal life in that way. You are being ill-mannered to continue to badger him.

@@marraharris6080 Y'know almost all KZreadrs use they're comments for suggestions for videos, when a comment gets lots of likes or if there are many of the same questions commented they will actually make that video. Without requests being made in the comments a lot of KZreadrs would run out of video ideas. Badgering is actually what you are doing leaving such negative comments. Maybe refresh you're memory of what respect is and keep your mouth shut next time.

@@marraharris6080 I wasn't aware of him being asked to see his personal collection! I would also like to say he's a big boy and should be able to speak for himself. I don't read all the comments on this subject. However I do have some interest in what he's found and it's people like you that will run others off and I'm sure he appreciates that. I didn't think it was to much to ask of someone who does this or similar kind of work. I think I will move on to other people who do similar work!!!!!!

@@gohiltonwell, since you make a point of asking him "again" this is obviously not the case. Either this is not the correct forum to receive your message and he won't see it here (it's really Jake's channel), or he's seen your request and ignored it. Move on.
Super perfume bottle shapes and the apothecary bottle, nice unusual shapes and of course the intact jug. Thank you, happy digging guys.
Thanks again for your posts... You are an exceptional person...Great crew also! Be Blessed 🕊️☝️
Hey Tom, very interesting shapes early on in this dig... Love those unique finds like that 3 panel toiletry bottle!!
It looks like it was raining in flask and pharmacy bottles congratulations on the pitcher ♥️♥️♥️♥️👍👏🗝️⚒️
Once again, thank you for sharing this great educational experience. You do a lot of work to entertain the world 👍.
Awesome dig Tom. Beautiful bottles as always. I just love your videos
Thank you for all your descriptions, they are appreciated! UK.
Great and Exciting Pit - Great Array of Bottles - but that Intact Pitcher must be the Find of the Day - how Wonderful - wow ! Another Great Dig and Video - thank You and many Cheers from Australia !!!!

I think your three panel bottle is a "Pinch" whiskey pint.

One of the world's oldest distilleries.
The water pitcher is extraordinary! ♥
Wow all the blue glass in this dig! 😍
I've always dreamed of a chandelier made from antique slicks with the bottoms cut off and wired from the top. It would be beautiful if I could ever afford one! Love your videos!!😍
Great content Tom! Love this channel!
What an amazing pit for you to find. Those bottles are in tremendous condition after being buried for over 100 years. Do you ever find any old coins? I know you find lots of glass and stoneware, I was just wondering about the possibility of finding old coins.
Love these history digs.
Love watching you did🙏
Love the way you just say human waste and never skip a beat.😂
I don't know why, but you wielding a trowel is more satisfying than a wooden stick.

I agree. I keep wanting to see what happens after the dig.
Just so informative and great knowledge❤
Amazing pieces as always
This is the most informative channel, from your profound knowledge to the information on the screen. Its the most fun I've ever had learning!!
Most generic pit in while. Thrift travelers maybe. Thanks for taking us along. God bless and save our Republic.
Thanks for showing the pitcher cleaned, So many nice pieces, Take care.
Great finds Tom. Take care and stay safe. 👍
Really enjoy your videos...such knowledge ...keep on digging...🥰🥰
Hi 👋 Tom and jake another good bottle pit 👌 surprising what you can find that's what makes it intresting have a good weekend 👍 Andrew south wales uk 👍 👌 😀 🇬🇧
Thank you for sharing your dig
Tom and Jake another fantastic dig. I was expecting more stoneware and china since it was a hotel. The water pitcher was awesome. Loved the JAC Schmidt beer bottles, we have a few of our own. Great job,👍👏😀😀
another great dig
Those people were doing some drinking while trying to sneak out to the out house they needed the drug store, perfumes, and listerine to cover the smell of the alcohol lol. I know it was a hotel but still kind of wild to say the least. Have a great day and happy digging.
Great job
Great video guys! Love that little toiletry bottle and pitcher! Much love from Louisiana ❤❤
Thanks for the dig you guys, the weather seemed cooler.❤
Tom, when did glass manufacturers realize the color of the glass would add or detract to the stability of a bottle's content ?
another great dig! have an awesome weekend!
Ohhh an ironstone butter pat just jumped out!!
Nice video man keep up the awesome work👍👍
Nice !
Tom you rock!
my new pass time
Must be a record for slick bottles.
I would love to try thus! I'm from Saskatchewan, not too far from there.
Over in the UK the three panel bottle may have been for whisky
i wish you made a video about how to probe out a pit
DID YOU SEND OUT THOSE TINY BOTTLE WITH LIQUID TO GET ANALYZED?
Well, that was different. Good job
I really am enjoying watching these videos. Would sure like to see a video where you explain some of the things you talk about. How do you find these spots? How do you know the boundaries of a pit? "Looks like we hit bottom", ...How do you know? What is a "use layer"? Would like to see you probing for a pit and hear more about how that works, etc. etc...
Tom show us your bottle collection!!
Great video. Love watching all the different things you find. Tells a lot about the people and their lives by what they left behind. I worry about you digging in old poop though. Be sure all your vaccinations are up to date. Viruses can lay in the ground for hundreds of years. Measles, Chicken Pox, Small Pox to name a few. Be careful. Good hunting!👍
KEEP THAT PIPE DUDE THOSE ARE SUPER RARE
Interesting dig!
Nice to see you working in a shallow pit when I don't worry about the sides caving in on you.
Your knowledge of Hennepin Ave in Minneapolis is correct sir! One of the main streets in Minneapolis.
Hennepin County - also where Minneapolis is located. But yes, Hennepin Ave is/was a big hub in the area.
3.38 the three sided bottle may be a liquor that's called Pinch. I don't recall what type if it was brandy or whatever. I used to tend bar and remember that style bottle.
I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving! Here's to finding more history of this great country!
I believe the three sided bottle many be for Pinch Scotch.
I hear you're going to be in Red Wing Mn.
Wonder if old schoolhouses would have anything buried in the outhouse holes? There were schoolhouses every couple of miles. But I reckon the old school Marm's were pretty harmless. But I bet they also misbehaved sometimes too. Give the kids a test & hit the sauce.
What do you do with all of the bottles you dig up. They are really cool
In a dry state the drugstores did a lot of business with “medicine” that had high alcohol content.
Really enjoy your channel and love your enthusiasm... cant help but hope your Tetanus and Hepatitis shots are up to date... 😂
What do you do with these bottles once found? Is it for a personal collection or do some find there way to local museums or do you sell them on? Just wondered. Great video. Love this kind of stuff
Unbelievable finds. What do you do with all of these fantastic bottles?
Three sided bottle is used by a scotch whiskey company with their brand titled "Pinch". Still bottled and sold today in a three sided bottle.
That fly is persistent!🪰😘
Beautiful pitcher and pipe bowl! So what’s the image on the pipe bowl? 12:40 Wild West 🔥
Have you ever dig in southern Minnesota? I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving 🦃
What do you do with the finds you don’t keep?
You might of answered this before? Do you ever metal detect your digs?
Are them bottles worth money or do you just collect them thank you for your video there interesting 🤔
Please show us all the kitchen dinner sets , china . It is very good to use for mosiacs to keep a history of the past . Thank you .
Jealous of that soil as all we got is red mud to dig in.
I have two Listerin bottles. They are small and a small glass Dr Pepper bottle. About 8 oz. Clear glass. A michuracom bottle. Small amber colored. I know thats not the correct spelling
👍
You know the pit is nasty when the flies are going nuts near you. Is this the worst poop filled holes you've dug
Did I miss a video? You say that you had dug another pit the day before?
Does the pits stink . I am in Cairns, Australia.
Do you provide props for movies?
so kim what did you do this weekend? Binge watched a man digging in outhouse holes lol
what is meant by a"tooled top"?
If you don't want stuff, you can make a crafts idea then sell that people interesting in to take it. 😊
Does it actually smell like shit in there?
