This channel makes a huge service to the HD community imo. It is straightforward and honest, it has history, it is informative. My 2 cents on the pricing. In Germany the 120th anniversary paint scheme costs you 6450$ with today's exchange rate. The Fat Boy is 27K instead of the 21K you mentioned for California. Prices here are insanely blown off. In some cases they are up 2K from the 22MY. I love both bikes for what they are. Either the Deluxe or the Heritage should always remain in the catalogue as long as HD produces internal combustion motors. The design is the pinnacle of a period that many of us have grown to love through music, design, fashion, etc. When I see the Heritage I hear "Jailhouse Rock" in my mind. It is old school badass, and that comes from a 32 y.o. As a side note, I think people living in rainy or snowy parts love the functionality and design of the fenders, because they save from collecting dirt on the radiator and other intricate parts to clean in the bike. Now if you live in sunny places that is not a worry, so a Heritage in, say, Michigan or Wisconsin, makes perfect sense to me. As we all know, the worse the weather is, the more saddle bag space / wind protection / better lighting you need.

As a Michigan guy I went with an Ultra Limited. It gets cold here so I wanted more wind protection and those heated hand grips

Im from NH too congrats on the bike best looking softail in my opinion really like the colors they did this year
I would love to get one of these Fat Boyz and park it in my living room like a piece of art! A man can dream
I have the Anniversary HSC 2023, got it mid Feb, have almost 400 miles on it. Just added some LED blinker lights, heated grips, luggage rack (gloss black), crash bars (gloss black). Everything else will remain stock. Paint scheme is incredible, Ride very smooth. Mine is #553/2000.
Heritage Softail is by far the " Old School " staple of Harley. It is the sleeper, it does everything. And it does it well. If Harley were to promote it more it would sell faster then anything Harley offers. One ride and it's " The Bike" to buy

I talked to a salesman at the dealership when I was just roaming, and he said the same thing. When people walk in not knowing what they want, they usually ride off in a heritage.

I would have to agree with your statement. I bought a Heritage in the 2018 model year and was not planning to switch bikes at that time. However, my wife wanted me to test drive the Heritage...after a short ride, I was in the finance office. Best bike ever and still looks/rides like new 6 years later!!
FatBoy the Best, can’t stop looking at it. Excellent Video 👍👍👍✌️
You're right, out here in the Midwest the Heritage is still popular. I think it makes sense to have a lighter weight touring bike alternative. I do like the blacked-out version, but I think the Heritage really shines with the chrome option. And sense the Deluxe is gone (really miss that bike), they should offer white walls to go along with the laced wheels. Just a beautiful bike.
@MattLaidlaw

Totally agree with the whitewalls! Thanks for the comment! The heritage is under appreciate out here.
The Heritage is still really popular here in FL, especially the most recent years/model. It was actually my first HD back in 2015. BTW, your content continues to be the Gold Standard for HD Matt. It’s obvious you work hard- just know it’s appreciated and admired.
Ohio here. I think the heritage is still relevant. No bias because I own one (red iron denim). I sat on an ST to get it out of my system as that is much more my demo and it wasn’t as comfortable. I’m bought it because it’s a pickup truck. It has bags to throw my stuff, I can have a tall sissy bar for looks, or I can mount a tour pack. And in all black, it looks mean. My buddies all more wonder why I don’t have a touring bike, but I didn’t want to give up the nimble feel of my triumph when I traded it. The Heritage suits all my needs. I have all the tall guy mods done, and I do light touring but it’s just as fun to beat on around town. You really do have the best HD content on KZread. Keep up the good work man!
I love the fatboy, always been my favorite bike. Grew up riding on the back of my dad’s.
I think the 120th anniversary colors are brilliant! Love it ♥️🤙🏼
Whitewalls look great on the Heritage (as on the Deluxe), especially when stripped of the bags and windshield. Definitely the most versatile bike in the softail lineup.
Kept the Heritage and discontinued the Road King Standard? I guess they know what they are doing but I was bummed. I was hoping for a 114 RKS in chrome.

For reals. The only way they can remedy discontinuing the road king standard is either bring it back with the 114 or chrome out the RK Special.

I'm bummed out by that too! Come on harley, tall people like roadking standards, could of had standard and special! Duh
Here on the east coast Heritage Classic, Fat Boy, Breakout, are Softail kings We love them.
Thanks for the close look detailing on these 2 bikes Matt! I love them both a lot. I appreciate everything you do like these featured bikes, and your touring with friends and family. Keep up the outstanding work! Thanks for keeping them family friendly too.
Thanks for the video Matt, the 120 Anniversary paint looks so good. I ordered a Fatboy from my dealer here in West Australia I was lucky to get one as all of their allocation was originally spoken for, but someone pulled out of their order for some unknow reason so I paid a deposit and its arriving sometime within the next few days. Had the 2018, 115 anniversary Fatboy and sold it recently. Loving the M8 Softail range.
Heritage is definitely my favourite of the HD lineup. I live in Sweden, mostly use my bike in the city and sometimes go for a longer trips. I like that you can remove the windshield and bags easily for a nicer look in my opinion, but still have them for the longer trips when needed. And the size and proportions look good. Oh I should mention, I don't have a Harley but one day I will and it will be a Heritage from 2018 or newer (114) ;)
My favorite would be the 2018 and the 2023. I am a lover of red colors on vehicles. And I also love that black and blue together. Ride safe.
I have had 3 Heritage Softails. Bought a 21 Street Glide and traded it back in for a 22 Heritage 13 months later. Love the Heritage and won't own any other model.
Heritage classic 120th is absolutely beautiful. Would love to see a new Heritage springer with new tech integrated in.

love the Fatboy, but sad Harley cheaped out and didn't chrome the lower legs, but other than that it's FLAWLESS !!
Love the 120 line up!!! great video!!!
Great looking paint scheme on the Anniversary bikes. I prefer chrome finishes on my bikes. I love the Fat Boy but your review on the Heritage has me thinking of one. For all practical touring purposes the Heritage makes sense. Thanks for posting this review.

Great bike the new frame is awesome. Rite out of the box heritage can not be beat for bar hopping or long travel. I own a 21 and have no complaints it's exactly the bike I think of when I think Harley davidson but I'm a due that caught the tail end of the 80s and grew up in the 90s lol
The motorcycle demographic sales is strange. When the Lowrider ST came out they were hard to get on the west coast from what i understand. In Minnesota where i live, the dealer had a couple on the floor for months where as the Heritages are more desired in my area.
Awesome job Matt, good job 👏
Two beautiful machines, great video.
Have to say that red Fatboy is my favorite
Love my 2018 Heritage! Was looking to purchase a Road King. Too bulky and heavy for me (i'm 5'8" 165#). I see the Heritage as a Road King LITE that does everything very well! Thank you for your contribution to You tube!
Heritage is huge here in Philly area. I think it may be one of the most popular bikes at the Langhorne dealership. Also since this anniversary edition is pretty much as is, I think the Heritage is a good choice since it come with bags and windshield already.
I love everything about this bike
Nice review keep up the good work Matt
Awesome paint on the 120th anniversary bikes. 2018 blue 💙 anniversary did Rock 🙂
Love the Heritage Classic. Yes, East Coast here.
I love the Heritage!! I can’t wait to get mine!!
Thanks for the video Matt. I always find them relaxing. I think the anniversary bikes look sharp.
I agree, 2018 models i liked very much too. These anniversary models Heritage cleans the table imo.
Anniversary red is absolutely beautifulThank you for the video take care
Take the windshield and bags off the Heritage and you have the old Deluxe. Looks great in both trims and the Heritage sells well in the Northeast. The ST was derived from the California scene so no surprise it sells well out west.
Absolutely spectacular bikes!!!
Love the Heritage ,bought 2022 Black&Blue, chrome ,mag wheel version, then blacked side panels and rear of light shells! Mate has lovely 85th anniversary Springer Heritage ,uses regularly. This colour scheme makes Knock Out bikes!
Nobody does paint like HD, these bikes are stunning and it and are works of art, when you look at the way the body lines ,paint, seat lines just flow into one another. No other manufacturer comes even close. I would say that the Heritage model is just as iconic as the Fatboy. Here in New England they are very popular. I have 2021 Heritage Classic Deadwood Green and wherever I go someone compliments the bike. One other thing, for this Anniversary model it seems reasonable for the 1500 dollar upcharge for the paint, badging, seat details etc, You would pay a hell of a lot more than that if you brought your basic black model to a paint shop to have it done to this level. Thanks for all the videos Matt! Keep em coming-
@MattLaidlaw

Agreed. Thanks for the comment. Deadwood is a great color. I bet it looks great on the heritage.
Love the heritage! Go figure I live in the Midwest lol
Heritage Classic comes very well set up with the clear windshield, lighting and lockable bags. Ultimately the blacked out Street Glide Special with the batwing fairing is my favourite.
Yup 2023 is the best anniversary edition. That colorful ❤
I just bought this bike! My first Harley from my other bikes. Love it so far.
Amazing paint scheme!
Excellent job
I like the anniversary model so much I bought one. 521 of 2000 Heritage.
2021 Fatboy 114 and I love mine
Great review bud
Man, I love the look of that anniversary Heritage Classic. That Anniversary Red is killer. If I were to buy another Harley, it would be that red Anniversary Heritage or a 2022 red and black Heritage. Then I'd do a stage III on it much like Jamie's in that previous Laidlaw video. I promised I'd stop at three bikes: a 2017 Red + Black CVO Street Glide, a red 2017 Roadster(love this bike), and an El Diablo. I put a deposit down on the El Diablo in Feb of 2022 based on a rumor. At that point in time, most of the sales staff had not heard about the El Diablo. Yes, Im single and retired. Lol. I try to stay away from the local dealership since it's a huge temptation, but then again, money spent at the dealer is money well spent helping to support the guys at that local dealership. I mean, HD is afterall an American icon, even if it is run by a German.
I have a 2018 Heritage special edition and I also have a 2022 Low Rider st. They are both great bikes but the Heritage is my all time favorite Harley. It does everything great.
What a beautiful bike!
Matt, I have a 2018 Heritage. I really like the look of the 2023 anniversary model. Thank you for making a video on it. There definately is a market for the Heritage. It is basically a bagger on a softail frame. Excellent ride for longer trips--500 miles or so. Add a sissy bar bag an you are all set. Thank you.
Thank you very much Matt 😊 ... This Video was veeery interessting for me ... I like the Heritage Models ... I think Harley has there with the Classics the absolute Best Composition of Style, Touring and Crusing in Combi with Comfort and Quality in the hole Motor Cycle World ... When your only the Money for only one Bike ... THIS it is ... ALL in ONE ... 😀👍 My Favorit ( in Classic ) for a long Time ... Momently I 😉 like a little more for looong Touring ... so for me is a Option a ( classic Style ) E-Glide or Road King ... But when Start with Day or Weekend Trips and look for a good all Day Combi ... the Heritage is the Best Milestone on the Way ... Heartly Wishes and a big Thank Your Arne 👋 😊
Heritage Classic is in deed one of Harley's best bikes.
I live in OC, CA and have the denim red 2018 Heritage Classic and I get compliments everywhere I go!
I bought my first new Harley in 2003. I had a Dyna Low Rider with the Gold Key Package. Virtually every motorcycle model that year had the Anniversary black and Silver paint. Gunmetal was also an anniversary color that I haven’t seen since 03’. My Bike is long gone, but I still have my gold key with the 100 year anniversary logo and my points cover which had the holographic logo.
The heritage is the best all around bike fun solo but good 2 up and can tour with it also.
I won’t pay the dealer markup for the anniversary paint sorry , so I bought the white sand pearl Low Rider ST instead for MSRP thanks Matt

That’s a good bike. Enjoy. Not all dealers have mark up by the way.
I agree about the heritage it's super capable and that styling is holding it back probably all around. It's actually the only bike that I feel super comfortable on stock when throwing a leg-over it in the showroom floor. I've seriously considered buying a heritage many times but the lowriders I think is the way to go for most folks. The fat Bob yes the Chrome is the right way to go
Love that Fat Boy. Thanks for the review Matt.

Thanks for watching my friend.
Classic HD right there. 🤘⚡️🤘✨✨✨
Loved the heritage classic nod!
Matt the Heritage Softail is Harley Davidson. I live in the Midwest and ride a 2009 Heritage. It is the most classic and iconic Harley.
Definitely likes the satin chrome, beautiful, understated and classy.
The Heritage looks great in the 120 anniversary colors!
I think these 2023 Anniversary models are beautiful. The reddish paint jobs are out of sight!!! Say Matt my dealer finally got the delivery of the 2023 Road Glide 3 Billard Blue I ordered 6 (six) weeks ago !!! And now tomorrow I will pick it up with the mods I wanted added. I LOVE it .... THANKS to you for the Road Glide 3 introduction video that got me inspired!!!

I'm from Seattle area. Got my first HD when I was 57. 2000 Fatboy with 12,000 original miles. Yellow and black. I've but 20,000 miles on it the first year. I've never been married but am proud to say the love of my life is my Fatboy. Total life changer! The 120 year anniversary Fatboy is sick as fuck. Makes me proud to be an American! ❤
Loved the satin chrome look. I had hoped at the time of the release that they'd expand it to offer it with other bikes. Unfortunately that didn't happen. I've always been a big fan of the Heritage model and I'm originally from Southern California, not far from you Matt. :) This anniversary model really nailed it. I love the color, love the ox-blood coloring on the seat and bags. I like it so much I'm kinda tempted to trade my 2020 Roadglide in for it. lol
My favorite motorcycle is The Awesome Fat Boy 114 !!!
I bought the Heritage aniversary edition and for what i want it is perfect I am 6 foot 220 pounds and it fits me perfectly. To me it is everything a Harley should be. It is called a Classic for a reason. Mine is number 1533 of 2000
6:39 I had a 2018 Fatboy I JUST traded for a ‘23 Road Glide. It had satin chrome, which I preferred. Paint was black tempest, which had some flake in it. I think that color with the satin chrome just popped. Loved that bike, but I was getting my ass kicked riding 100-200 mile day trips…
That Heritage looks great.
The Heritage Classic looks really good and solid.
Traditional chrome! Double wing tank badge and 2018-2021 wheels ( not cut open) 😊
I miss my Heritage 114. It is a *great* bike. Leaps and bounds ahead of the 2015 Fat Bob that got replaced. Selling it was a bit of a necessity for a different 2 up bike. I'm diggin the new Prospector Gold with chrome!
I'm a great chrome lover but the satin chrome look was fantastic and also helped to set the fat boy apart from other models. Not a great fan of the coloured panels on the saddle for 120th but that's nit picking. The paint is brilliant and well thought through as always, I love the fading up to the stripe and the eagle feathers on the cvo are supercool. Tank badge is sweet too. Grab em fast if you want one. I managed to get my 115th heritage by a matter of minutes, still have it and love it. 115th is my favourite anniversary but then again, I'm biased lol.
I really like the 120 year paint scheme
Had a Heritage for years. Bought a brand new 2021 Street Glide. 13 months later traded it for a 2022 Heritage. Love the Heritage.
Always liked the Heritage. I like it even more now
Commenting twice, but wanted to say…I love, LOVE this Anniversary. I’d consider if I didn’t love the color I have as much as I do. I have an 18 FLHCS in red iron denim.
The heritage really looks nice
Definitely a fan of the satin myself
Great report again Thanks Mat Yaron Israel
I’d say best anniversary year so far
Been hanging on the used bike purchase ,Deluxe or Softtail Slim, but the Heritage Vivid black, black finish, has me thinking, change to a Hollywood bar/beach bar, or even a Deluxe bar, detach the wind screen and bags for around town, and I may have just found my bike! Any idea if that type of bar change would require any type of re cabling? Thanks for the insights, may just be the ticket for me.
BADASS! 😱🤔❤️
I actually loved my copper top heritage. I know a lot of people didn't care for the color scheme but duracell sure did
The seat on the Heritage is so so comfortable. It seems that seat should be used on more bikes. Good review by the way.
The Heritage grew on me. Keep it. Great lighting. Wish they would’ve did the Heritage in black trim though.
Heritage Rules ! Can't go wrong with the Heritage !
Nice looking bikes, Ive always preferred a black and red color scheme, chrome maybe is on its way back
Nice
Big fan of the Heritage since I own a 97...
Prefer the Roadking to the heritage as the heritage is more of a highway bike as it doesn't corner like the Roadking. That is just my opinion as I'm in New Zealand we need to be able to corner. Our dealership A.M.P.S has a road glide with the 131 kit in it but has a black Chrome which is simply very classy. I do like the two tone red almost like an old barn colour so a little rustic but modern at the same time. Enjoying your channel thank you. My wife and I coming to sturgis this year so I might see you there. Might even meet the bogan but he'll be to busy for us. 😂😂. We going to swing by your shop on our travels too. Take care.
I really love the m8 heritage, being only 5'7 it feels like a solid touring bike. It will most likely be my next bike. Matt, does the laced wheels have a tube or are they tubless? Love your channel!!
@feloniousmonk3049

Tubed. Spoked rims aren't tubeless yet. Rim bead is different on the two types of tires.
The Fatboy is a beautiful bike but satin chrome all day. I like the Heritage in the heirloom red fade and black finish!
Very nice motorcicle 👏👏👏👌👍✌️
Matt my man you can pick some killer tunes for these vides. 💀👍I say keep the Heritage. A lot of folks don't want a bagger, but they'll ride a Heritage.
