    Yeah, I'm an NYC resident and I agree with you. I think everyone does though, this is a room in a boarding house, not an actual apartment. The title is clickbait. I wanted to see how he crammed all his stuff in there with a bathroom and kitchen counter tops taking up most of the space. What he did looks cute, but it's not that impressive to fit bedroom furniture into a 120 foot space. 120 square feet is actually considered a generous bedroom here. Haha, I'm not kidding. If you're making under 6 figures and you want to live in Manhattan south of Harlem, you're looking at a place with roommates and a bedroom that's closer to 80 square feet. Then it's harder to fit everything in the room, and a more impressive feat if you can do it and still look cute.

  • @CharlotteIssyvoo

    @CharlotteIssyvoo

    Exactly. It's a room in a boarding house. It is not an apartment. If all he wants is a bedroom of his own, why not go back to having roommates? Then he might actually have a shared kitchen too.

    @@rachelmaddowswife8713 I always feel a RV sized bathroom is doable in these types of spaces if the landlord doesn't have a problem with that (which one has to consider) and if the door is at the middle of the room (not at the corner). If he gets a chest of drawers with some space in the middle, it could double as his workspace, thus his desk won't be necessary and that will create more space. I would have gotten high vertical shelves to put my stuff. Summary of the story is that the space is enough for a kitchen area and a RV sized bathroom with some tweaking.

    You can normalize any kind of atrocity, just make it fashionable in the case of "tiny apartments". The "tiny apartment" movement is an awesome initiative to get the working poor to pay as much as or more than the the well off for a sqft. Why try and enslave people when it's easier and considered more moral to talk them into putting shackles on their own feet and those of their children.

    Houses built before the 1950s rarely had closets - people used a piece of furniture called a wardrobe or armoire instead. So having a closet is not really a good definition of a bedroom. A minimum square footage requirement would make more sense.

    Hey Mr. tiny apartment guy. You're such a sociable, funny and talkative dude. You need a sitting area. Put your bed up high, and utilize the space beneath it for your office. Then your desk can appropriately be converted into a sitting area, a table with two chairs from which you and your artistic friends can sip champagne and develop very innovative creative ideas. You truly are a man of God, living simply, humbly and with panache! Kudos!

I love the Target desk and am thinking something like that would work perfectly in the study, as it's kind of a small room. But I want to make room somehow for many of my books because I have so many. So I need a small sor of desk. And I'd like to fit a small loveseat or futon. Sorry I'm rambling but you're really good at organizing! And already I'm getting ideas!

    This is the apartment version of the tiny house nation for houses. Hope it doesn’t go down that same road. Saw this cute house that I was going to check into, 1 bdrm/bath, 400 sq feet. It’s a modular, on a foundation house - 120k for the house, plus set up and utility/electrical. So about 160k - for 400 sq ft. 😳

    Thank you so much for showing daily life in small spaces! I feel like there is not nearly enough videos of people living in actually tiny spaces on the internet, other than tiny homes but those are usually specially built with clever storage and not really relatable unless you are living in one. While I don't live anywhere near New York or any big city, I live out in the country but rent a small garage apartment shared with 3 other people and while we have a shared small kitchen and tiny bathroom, 95% of my stuff has to fit in a 120 sq ft room. I got a lot of good tips from this video! The pop of color over the bed as a "headboard" was brilliant! I find small space living very cozy, easy to keep clean, and spend much of my time outdoors anyway.
