Why oh WHY do architects insist on putting sinks in islands???? Do they never cook!? They must not for they never seem to understand the need for unfettered counterspace bigger than a postage stamp! I would move the sink to area next to stove so the island is just that- a usable, functional island with unencumbered work space! Ay yi yi yi yi!!!

I agree. These condos with bedrooms so small one has less than 2 feet to walk around the end of the bed. These open floor plans with no wall to hang a TV. These kitchen islands with little countertop space. Add in steep, narrow stairs. 😕 The most comfortable space is outdoors on the balcony. Other than winter, how is the weather there? Could one hang a TV on the balcony wall, watch a movie & then sleep outside? 🌙
